chubby lil me -

Wearing clothes that don't fit you are never flattering. Especially if they're too tight with little flubs hanging out...I don't think you want that. There are a lot of cute outfits even for more hefty girls out there that look really nice. Pick clothes that flatter your figure, and draw attention away from your stomach area. I had a friend who was pretty chubby too, and a good store to go to for cute plus size clothes is Torrid. Hopefully they have it in your area!

As for temporarily flattening your stomach, there isn't any way unfortunately. Just do a lot of cardio (running, jogging, jumping rope, getting your heart rate up basically) and a lot of different ab exercises. The results will be gradual, but you'll see a difference if you keep with it.

Good luck, hope this helps!

Hi Sweetie,
Been there... feeling chubby... yeah, I still think I'm chubby (because I am) although everyone else says I'm thin. I know how some thin girls say they are not thin and they really are... I'm not. I just "look" thin, which is completely different. I used to wear corsets underneath clothes. That would help you "look" thin. A tip for future clothes: wear black. It makes you look thin. I'm not telling you to wear like all-black and stuff. Just a black shirt everyonce in a while. And when you buy colorful clothes buy the loose type. A friend said wearing necklacess helps people seem thinner... you could try that too.
My best wishes! (p.s. If you try to loose weigh try not to diet by eatting less... diets don't work. What does work-and I know this from experience-is excersice. Go up and down stairs for half an hour for like three days a weak or something... take the stairs instead of the elevator... walk home instead of riding the bus... these are all ideas. I ate because of anxiety... if you eat a lot it may be that... and maybe you need to work on that). Take care! ~Blessed Be...

If it's just one or two outfits that make you feel a little insecure about your stomach, you could just wear control top panty hose underneath. Really though, it would probably be better to just try to find clothes that make you feel good about how you look. Just because you're not a stick figure doesn't mean you can't look cute. Just find stuff you like, wear it, and don't worry about other people. That's easier said than done, I know, but much better than duct tape!

Wear a corset, that should work. In the future when purchasing clothes, avoid buying things that are too small.
Good luck on the weight loss, but it depends 80% on diet and 20% on exercise, so make sure you're watching what you eat too.

dreamingkat answered Thursday February 3 2005, 10:50 pm:
There are types of clothing specifically designed to force a body into certain shapes. Corsets and girdles are types of "underwear" that do this. They're usually not cheap, and I don't think they're a good idea to wear unless it's part of a costume, especially if your growing. Corsets require that you avoid anything that will make your breath hard and are the reason that those "southern belles" and the like were always fainting (not enough oxygen to the brain).

Your best bet is to find clothing that makes you look good as you are. Everyone has body parts that they love, and those that they wish they could trade in. Find a feature or three to show off. Do you have a great butt or winning smile? Awesome hair or nice legs? Do you get complements on your beautiful eyes, pianists fingers, or strong hands? Find outfits and accessories that draw people's eyes to the parts of your body you want to show off.

One of the great strengths of humanity is our variety and diversity. Maybe this years styles don't fit you all that well. No one looks good in the hottest styles every year. There are styles that look better on rounder people than on stick figures, and some of them do qualify as "cute".

wantinganswers112 answered Thursday February 3 2005, 10:17 pm:
I'm not a stick myself, but my stomach has gotten a lot flatter than normal because of running so much in athletics. Lots and lots of sprinting. I don't really know any last minute things because loosing belly fat is not something that happens overnight. Sit-ups and crunches might help, but umm...it still won't happen overnight. Maybe you should pick something else to wear for tomorrow and hang the outfit you were planning to wear in ur room. Then for the next couple of weeks work out, do crunches, run alot... whatever u decide. And then wear it to school and see how it looks. Hope I helped!

Nokomis answered Thursday February 3 2005, 9:25 pm:
First off dark colors make you appear to be thinner, Second why must you wear tight shirts to be cute? You can wear something cute that is not skin tight. Avoid horizontal stripes and be happy with yourself the way you are. I'm chubby too but this always helps me.

One, where not so tight black shirts, they say it makes you look thinner. Two where loose shirts, or three where a not so tight or loose jacket/sweater over your shirt.
