I take theatre, and I love it, I'm pretty sure they're called the comedy/tragedy masks. Some people call the happy/sad, or funny/sad. But I'm pretty sure the correct term would be comedy/tragedy.

Hey! They're called the comedy/tradegy masks! They come from the first Greek dramas..those were mostly what their plays were about! Hope I helped!

It is called the "comedy/tragedy" symbol. This comes from the ancient Greeks, as they pretty much originated what we know of as theater - and pretty much wrote either tragedies or comedies.
