Your dog probably just has a new sense of exploration and wants to see what would happen. Maybe he finds something that could harm the family in the bathroom and he just wants to be there. Maybe he just wants to be away from the family at night. Its just normal dog behavior. Nothing to worry about. Dogs love to find one place in the house and sleep there every night for long periods of time and they switch every now and then.
hope this helps..

My lab does the same thing. The bathroom floor is probably nice and cool. Dogs really like that. So it's no big deal, he's just a warm dog.

Bathrooms are usually cooler because they usually have tile flooring as opposed to carpeting. Your dog is probably just hot. My dog does the same thing. It's not unusual.

If you just got him, since it is still warm and summer time, he may be sleeping on the bathroom floor because it's cooler there than anywhere else.

Ghettotissuebox answered Saturday August 28 2004, 11:51 am:
Its normal, since dogs have hair all over there body, they get hot easily, especially dogs with alot of hair, (ex: poodles, bichon frise, maltese...) I have a bichon frise, and he always lays in the bathroom, the floor is cool and so is the room. Dogs like to be comfortable, so dont worry about it, nothings is wrong with your dog, all dogs do it.
Hope i helped
Please rate:)

DruidX answered Saturday August 28 2004, 9:02 am:
Did you raise/ train him? or did you get him from someone else? If you got him from someone else they might have kept him in the bathroom, and dogs remember things like that. It could be that your bathroom is the warmest room in the hose, or because everyone uses it, thats where he feel most comfortable.
If its not hurting anyone, I would let him be :)

Hello =) Well, is it really hot where you live? Because if it is, they like to sleep on a cool ground to cool them off. Since they have a fur coat [hopefully your dog does] they become very hot in the summer. So that's a way of cooling off. In summer, my dog likes to sleep on the kitchen floor where it is cool. I hope I helped =) Feel free to leave one in the inbox if you'd like <3 Steph

Does your bathroom have different flooring from the rest of your home? If you have carpet may be it's too hot during summer so your dog goes to sleep on the bathroom floor... Of course, it might just be a habit...
