xo_dream answered Tuesday August 24 2004, 11:31 pm: I think it's 1 in 5OO or something like that. It hardly ever happens if they're used correctly. And DON'T use two to 'help' .. there's a way bigger chance of it breaking if you use two.
They do a ton of tests on them to make sure they're safe to sell, so don't worry about it, and if it does happen to break, go to planned parenthood right away + get the morning after pill, and you should be fine =) [ xo_dream's advice column | Ask xo_dream A Question ]
italianbabe0692 answered Sunday August 22 2004, 2:37 am: condoms are usually very good about not breaking but there is that slight chance that they might ... i know you may think you'll look stupid for doing it but i do it and trust me it works and is teh best way to be safe...after you have sex take the condom and and run it underwater to check for holes or rips if you find any then call up a teen help center and ask about getting the morning after pill which prevents you from being pregnent the only other thing you would have to worry about is gettin an std which you sound then get tested for [ italianbabe0692's advice column | Ask italianbabe0692 A Question ]
EmbracedxRain answered Saturday August 21 2004, 9:44 pm: The chances of the condom breaking would be minimal. Usually it is quite obvious when this occurs...The use of a lubricant during intercourse is recommended because it lowers friction, lessening the chances of a latex condom breaking...
When used correctly, latex condoms rarely break. Some important steps to follow to lower the chances of a condom breaking:
Take your time and do not rush sex
Use a latex condom during anal, vaginal, and oral sex. Use a new condom for every act of sex
Use only water-based lubricants such as K-Y jelly, Prepair, or Wet. Apply lubricants as needed. Water-based lubricants dry out quickly
When putting a condom on, pinch the reservoir tip so that there is no air bubble when you unroll the condom
Try using the female condom
Keep condoms stored at room temperature. Do not expose them to temperature extremes. The latex can weaken
Do not use condoms that have expired. Condoms have a certain shelf life as latex breaks down over time
llgngstachic answered Saturday August 21 2004, 8:56 pm: tehre is a very low risk because they go through several tests, adn if they can go through those tests without breaking, i think that theyd be able to go through one more [ llgngstachic's advice column | Ask llgngstachic A Question ]

xOchErrytWistOx answered Saturday August 21 2004, 7:58 pm: There's a very low percentage of the condom breaking. Condoms are 90% effective and most of 10% they are ineffective is when they are put on wrong. Make sure you put it on right, and your chances are slim to getting pregant from it breaking.

lovelyrita answered Saturday August 21 2004, 7:52 pm: If used correctly, a condom is 95% effective. I can't tell you from memory how effective it si when used incorrectly, but it's a much lower percentage. If you're using condoms to prevent pregnancy, it's a good idea to use spermicidal condoms or a seperate spermicide, just in case the condom breaks. xlostangelx answered Saturday August 21 2004, 7:48 pm: better than yu think, but then again..probably like a 30% chance i wuld say..but much better than not using one at all!!!
The average male ejaculation happens at a speedy 28 miles per hour! Ejaculate (semen, "cum") needs a place to go, or all that force can break the tip or seep out the bottom.
To avoid having a condom break because of the impact of the ejaculation, leave a half-inch space at the tip to collect semen and be sure to pinch the air out of the tip with one hand. (Friction against air bubbles causes most condom breaks. That's why you should smooth out any air bubbles that form along the shaft, too.)
hope i helped!!
