Scorpios1112 answered Sunday August 15 2004, 2:10 pm: When you get a new box re-read the directions and see if you were doing something wrong. Then try to insert the tampon the way the picture on the directions shows you and see if it is more confortable. [ Scorpios1112's advice column | Ask Scorpios1112 A Question ]
Jane answered Sunday August 15 2004, 1:32 pm: *You did not push your tampon up all the way. Next time use Tampax Pearl it is the best kind of tampon to make sure you have it in.* [ Jane's advice column | Ask Jane A Question ]
MissJ1414 answered Sunday August 15 2004, 1:01 pm: i used to have the same problem and I have found that if you stick the applicator in as far as it will go then push the tampon in then you can't even feel it. It might hurt a tiny bit getting it in there but you will feel so much better overall.
S_C answered Sunday August 15 2004, 10:35 am: most likely it's that they are either in the wrong way, or not far enough. If it's niether of those, then it's probably that your vagina isn't big enough. This might sound wierd, but some girls have vaginas that are to small for tampons, weird... but true. If thats the case then you would feel a lot of apin and t would be hard to get in and even harder to get out. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
xo_APRiL answered Sunday August 15 2004, 10:12 am: It could be that you dont have it in all the way, or they are crooked, or just plain wrong. Cuz they arent supposed to hurt. So just take it out and start over. It took me quite a while to learn out to do it right. *lol* But they are so much better than pads! Hope I could help! Lucy_Juicy answered Sunday August 15 2004, 9:46 am: Well that is how you know they are not in right if you can feel them! Just read the directions CAREFULLY and then you should get it right. Oh and don't take them out if they are not fully used yet!
alisonmarie answered Sunday August 15 2004, 9:26 am: First, you'll want to make sure you are wearing mini-tampons if you're just starting - they won't hurt a vagina that's not used to tampons as much.
Next, you shouldn't be able to feel a tampon when it is inside of you. If you can feel it, then you'll need to push it in further. You can do this by holding onto the string with one hand (so you don't accidentally push it in your vagina), and using one finger on your other hand to gently push the tampon in further.
When you are inserting the tampon, make sure the top end is all the way in your vagina - right up to where the plunger part starts, before pushing it in.
If the pain comes from the tampon actually entering your vagina, ask your mother if she can buy you some water-based lubricant to help the tampon slide in.
hailebop answered Sunday August 15 2004, 8:42 am: You shouldn't be able to feel a tampon when it's inside you. If you can and it's painful, then it isn't in right. Just try and relax and carefully read the instruction leaflet. Being relaxed is the most important thing, as otherwise you will be tense and clench the muscles, which will make the whole operation even more difficult. If you are having trouble getting it right, try first with a small/slim tampon for a low flow - this will be easier to insert than one designed for a heavy flow. Good luck! Blondie04 answered Sunday August 15 2004, 8:26 am: I don't wear them myself, but I can probably help you a little. You are probably no used to them yet. Give it a little time. If you still don't feel comfortable about it, and they still hurt, try a different brand where they are smaller. Maybe they are too big. If they still bother you, you aren't the type for them. Just to give you a hint, I wear Stayfree Ultrathin Long with Wings. I have ever since I have started and I love them. It's only a week. You can go a week without swimming and stuff and the ultrathin long with wings doesn't make you feel like you have a diaper on, like the commercial says that they do.
