Publi or Christian?
I have been going to the same Christian school all my life. Now Im entering high school and I have the choice to go to the public highschool near my house. Im worried about not making friends or getting into trouble in the public school. Its my choice but I cant decide. Which on should I go to and why? Please help! I know its a stupid question but please .. Thanks!

I would say, go to the public school, it's a new adventure, and you WILL make friends, everyone in high school has AT LEAST one friend, and as long as your a good kid you won't get in trouble
I also think you should go to a public high school because when college rolls around, then its going to be a REALLY big shock going from a small christian school to a large college.

At this point, I would stay in Christian School if I could because you get a better education. Ok, I totally biased because I was in Christian School until I went to Jr. High in the seventh grade. It was a huge change, and you have to be prepared to make new friends. It might not be as much as a culture shock to you if its high school.
If you follow the rules you won't get into trouble.
Just be friendly and ask questions whenever you need to know something. It won't take long to make friends usually. Just be yourself, and hope for the best. It's about your education, not who's popular and what they are wearing.

the same thing is gonna happen to me after this year is over. I never even went to preschool ( i had a nanny) so ill give you some of my reasons for each.
public- no uniforms! more people to meet, closer to my house
Catholic- less kids(so everyoen knows everyone) it will look better on an aplication, it will be less of a transition ( they will be more alike)
i still ahvent made me discion yet, everyone is so excited to go to public school and get rid of the unifroms, but i mean theres more to school than that and i think there will be less "issues"

Firstly, the only stupid questions are the ones left unasked.
You have every right to be worried. I went to a private school for 8 years, and then in my sophomore year, I was shoved into public school unwillingly. There, however, I met a great set of friends, got a chance to sing with a great choir, and all sorts of other things.
If you go to the public school, you'll have a chance to make new friends, meet new people, and have fun.
I met my boyfriend in public school - and he really makes going there worth it.
If you want to stick with the same friends you've had, and not risk getting into trouble and all that (you'll only get into trouble if you let yourself. I've never really gotten into trouble there...) it's obviously your choice.
It's really whether or not you want a change of pace.

i don't know what kind of reputation the public schools in your area have, but i know that a lot of the public schools where i live are full of crime and are run less smoothly than the private ones and when applying for college, i've been told that the fact that i go to a catholic school is definitely going to give me an advantage...if your more worried about how switching will affect your social life, then i can assure you that you will find a group to fit into at a public school so you shouldn't let that stop you

Acctually thats not a stupid question at all. I had the same problem i went to a christian school since pre-k and when it came time to diceide weather or not i wanted to keep going there it was a tough choice and i chose public school. And I wouldnt change that decision for the world. As for getting in trouble its just like private school except the consiquences are a tad bit more savere at public school, and for freiends the groups of people at public school is alot more diverse then private so even if theres some people you dont get along with theyll be even more you do. hope i helped out!

i think public school is super! ive never been to a christian school, but i think public school would offer more freedom of expression. i dont know if you have to wear uniforms or anything, but i bet theres a different dress code. about the friends issue, if you are friendly and confident then you will make friends fast. but all in all, if you feel more comfortable with christian school, then choose that. but public school is awesome too.

ok. im not going into high school...just 7th grade. i had the same problem though. i used to go to a very small christian school right by my house and that was really all i knew of. and i liked it there well i liked my friends and stuff but it was just really small. and then going into 6th grade i went to public school. i really didnt want to more than n e thing but it was ok i guess. this is ur choice though i think. will n e of ur friends be going to the public schools or going to another school? do u want to experience something new n ur life or just take it safe. who knows it might be a good change.

Well, if I was in your situation my first choice would be to go to the christian school. But after I would think about it I would come to the comclusion that going to a public school would be better. Making friends isn't thet hard in public. Its making the right friends thats hard. But see it would be better to go to a public school so that you can witness to those who don't know the lord. I can tell you its hard to stand by your faith when your in a public school, but when you bring someone to the lord, its a great feeling. I hope I helped.

To tell you the truth, I would go to public school and ask my parents to save up the money they were going to put up for private school into a savings account for later. If you do that, once you get into college, you will have lots of spending money! Also more people go to public schools, which means more people to find a clique that you fit in. Hope I helped.

Well you sounud very comfortable with the Christian school, but it never hurt to try anything new. I mean your just going into high school along with many other freshmen who have the same fears about making friends. Trust me i should know! All the other freshmen are scared of where all there new classes are and how their going to get there and who all they'll meet, but try not to stress about it cuz like i said everyones scared of high school and all its new wonders!

Well, choosing which school you should go to is completely up to you. Let me tell you that a public highschool isn't as bad as you're making it sound. If you're friendly and try to talk to people, you'll make lots of new friends! Be a good student and you won't get into any trouble. Steer clear of people who look like trouble.
