I want to get a cellphone but my parents wont let me!..Um..What kind of cellphone do you have? And how many minutes do you have each month? And if someone calls u how long do you talk?
endilwen answered Thursday June 24 2004, 9:51 am: I have an O2X1 Pay As You Go - which are no longer available, you have to buy one on contract. I don't have set minutes each month, I just pay for what I use with credit. It's quite cheap though, and I find it better than contract because I dont have a bill at the end of each month; if I cant afford credit I cant use the phone! xXBrunetteBabiiXx answered Wednesday June 23 2004, 8:57 pm: well i know exactly wut u mean! this happened to me, well if u go to the mall and stuff with friends tell ur parents that having a cell would give u more safety and u would only use it for emergency and some social, well try to find the cheapest plan that u can find with an affordable phone, sprint is a good service to have thats wut i have, if ur parents still dont agree with it just wait till they think ur ready. oh and to answer ur questions....i have a sprint samsung and i have unlimited weekends and nights and 350 day minutes, and if someone calls me in the day i usually use 2-10 minutes, and as long as i want on weekends and nights! _pott_head_ answered Wednesday June 23 2004, 8:18 pm: i have a Sanyo 8100 phone and i have sprint service. i share 1800 minutes a month with my parents with unlimited nights and weekends and nights starting at 7 PM. i usually dont talk to people till like after 5 or 6 so i only use like 100-300 minutes a month. what i had to do to get my phone was get straight As on my report card. i think you should make a deal like that with your parents because my deal with my parents made me work harder at school (i was slacking).

FrEe2bMe answered Wednesday June 23 2004, 4:34 pm: Well, it's natural for you to want a cell fone. I am assuming that you are at least 13. Your parents may not want you to have one because of the extra expense or maybe they just don't think you are ready. These questions that you have asked about what kind and how many minutes...you should look all those up like on different cell phone providers and do some research. Then tell all of it to your parents, they will be very impressed and appreciate your maturity. Also, if it is a financial problem you could offer to pay like 10 dollars or so a month..Good luck :) [ FrEe2bMe's advice column | Ask FrEe2bMe A Question ]
mozogurl answered Wednesday June 23 2004, 4:22 pm: Does any of that stuff really matter if you cant get one? If you have a house phone it really shouldnt matter. Ask one of your friends, with the growing cell phone population, they probably have one [ mozogurl's advice column | Ask mozogurl A Question ]

MFS answered Wednesday June 23 2004, 3:48 pm: I have some sort of Audiovox / Qualcomm phone from Verizon. I have more minutes than I know what to do with. I don't give out my cell number to many people because I don't want people calling me in the middle of things because that's really damn annoying. I don't have text messaging because it is fairly dumb.
There are 2 phones on the plan, total per month is about $40 or so, I think (I may be way the hell off on that).
My calls are generally not all that long. I do most long-distance calls on the cell - those might be 15min at the most. Average calls are quick, about 1-5 minutes - often asking questions, getting directions, or updating people on where I am, or letting people know if I'm stuck in traffic.
I have a cell phone because I actually need one. I did not want the cell phone, in all honesty, but there are too many times when it has been needed. I think too many people just want them for no good reason - mainly to think that it makes them cool. Crap - it's a stupid phone - who cares. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
storageanddisposal answered Wednesday June 23 2004, 3:45 pm: My cell phone is dead:( but I normally get the prepaid ones. I chose how many minutes I get (Related to the price) a month, and how often I talked. They're pretty cheap now. Try to convince them to get you a cheap one.
