You can't go swimming with a pad - not only is it really unhygienic, it would just lose it's stick and would soak up the pool water, making it really obvious. A tampon is the way to go. :)

A tampon wouldn't stay on your bathing suit in the water, so you have to wear a tampon.

Most people wear tampons just because they work better and they dont leak . . But since you'r 11 you might want to talk to your mom about it. . But i would use a tampon just because they work alot better

ok well when u do get it you totally wanna wear tampons in any water (unless the bath/shower...then it is totally fine to go without) pads would just get all soggy and wouldnt catch the blood but a tampon would stop the blood (just like a pad when outside of water)....inserting a tampon doesnt hurt either...just follow the instructions on the box and RELAX....relaxing is the key..

tampons definately. pads will swell up and the wings on it will show. if you get the wingless pads then they break up in water and thats not cool.

If your swimming you wear tampons hun. Because of your age I would get some little thin ones so you won't be uncomfortable. You know you can also talk to your mom.

If you're going to get in the water, while on your period, you will NEED to wear tampons. Don't wear the tampon any longer than 2 hours, because that Might cause an infection.

You shouldnt be in the water on your first day of your period anytime at all. I would suggest you use tampons, but if you are in the water you wouldnt leak.

Siren_Cytherea answered Saturday May 22 2004, 5:55 pm:
Tampons. Pads are both uncomfortable and sort of pointless in the water. Tampons plug up the flow so nothing gets out, whereas pads just catch the blood, which is pointless in water. It'd just seep out. So, tampons. ^_^

ArisuStarr answered Saturday May 22 2004, 3:18 pm:
Most pads will also fall apart in the water, which can be VERY embarassing.
If you wear a tampon, there's no way to tell...but you DO have to make sure the string's out of sight, lest everyone know you're on your period.

You have to wear tampons, because a pad will show through your bathing suit and swell up like a baby's diaper. It's not fun. No one can tell if you wear a tampon, but make sure to tuck the string into your bathing suit. It's very embarrassing if you don't.
