General fitness Well basically I'm really out of shape. I don't play any sports i don't take dance classes or things like that. And i would like to stay in shape even though it's really hard for me. Does any body know any excersises that i could do over a couple of minutes to keep me in shape?

Get invovled in things.. go running or jogging in the morning or late at night so that way it is cool or get a tredmill or whatever that runny thingy is-trix ]
i think that you should do curl ups, push ups, squats, and stuff like that. you should try jump roping because not only is it great exercise, it is also fun! these all could be a 5 minute thing once a day and after a few weeks, i bet you'll see results :) ]
Put on some music in your room and dance around like a fool for a couple of songs.
Seriously, its good exercise. ]
do 50 sit ups 50 cruthchs and 50 push ups a day youll be in SHAPE ]
Do crunches, pushups, and run. Those are really great exersizes for your fitness. Try an internet search or a library for more ideas.

Well, excercising is a very good way to get fit! You need to go to your town fitness center and go to the work-out room and work-out! (It's fun to run on the treadmill and read at the same time!) But you can also buy excercising tapes! My mom does excercises all the time, if you e-mail me then I could probably ask my mom for some advice on things to do! :) ]
maybe you should consider taking up a sport.. or if u dont want to spend that much time, many local fitness centers offer classes like kickboxing and palates... both of which are very fun and dont take any more then 30 minutes.. plus u can get together with your friends and go any time you like... or just find a friend who likes to walk.. and someone you can talk to, then go on walks and hang out at the same time.. very fun and very beneficial to your body! ]
jumping jacks, push-ups, annd crutches are what my karate teacher said are shortest and most effective. Just do these for about 5min.you can definetely stay in shape. ]
Ok well I have really good advice for you.... you may learn to love it! Horseback riding! seriously it keeps you in shape and it doesn't matter what size you are ... if you are over 400lbs. then take up something else! i swear by it horseback riding is the key to anything because horses will always listen without interuptions! lmao ]
Hmmm.... well, you can just jog in place for 5 minutes or so. Lift 5 pound weights while you are watching TV or waiting for something to load on the computer. ]
Do you really expect just "over a couple of minutes" that you can stay in shape? Then you're horribly mistaken. It takes longer then just minutes, maybe days or weeks. Try jogging for half an hour, roller blading, skating , biking, swimming. ]
Im going to tell you the truth getting in shape takes more than a few minutes a day anything you see on tv "5 minutes a day" it mean 30-45 minutes a day sorry to break it to you, I used to be a physical trainer at defined fitness so trust. But you want things to help you ride a bike, or rollerblade many people don't know that roller blading helps you lose weight because your whole body is used when you do it right. Hope this helped

I just recently read an article about excercises you can do sitting in front of your computer. (<i>Prevention</i> magazine, January edition) Let's see if I can remember some examples:
Stretching - twist from the waist, grabbing the back of the chair. Or back the chair away from the computer and stretch out your legs reaching for your toes.
Strengthening: Lift your body off the seat part way then sit back down. You can either support yourself by the arms of the chair or cross your arms over your chest. Do this several times.
Aerobics: Run in place sitting down. Lift your feet up and down. Do this for as long as you can.
This gives you the general idea. You can probably create a few of your own, as long as you don't hurt anything. "No pain, no gain" is not true. ]
Well, I do warm up excersises each night, and mornings sometimes. They are basically straching excerises, that you hold for a count of ten. The key with excerising is to build it up. Perhap only do them at night, and hold for 8 counts, then once you feel you are ready advance to doing it morning and night and holding for count of 10, and then perhaps doing others like a few push-ups or star jumps. Always rember to warm up though! When you feel confident you could try joining a gym or going for a run. Excersie in this way is more enjoyable if you have an excersise buddy.
I would also recomend lovering your claorie intake and eating more freash fruit and vegtables. <a href="[Link](Mouse over link to see full location); target="blank">This site has some very useful information on calories and excerises</a>.
Good Luck :D ]
Vow never to take an escalator or elevator unless you have no choice, and to get on and off public transit a stop or two from your destination and starting point. You'll barely miss the time and it'll add up over the course of a day. In fact, if a trip is less than 20 minutes walking, then walk! You'll save time wangline a ride or waiting for the bus, you'll get to know your area better and you'll get exercise without making a noticeable dent in your schedule or wallet (you'll even save on bus/subway fare for short trips). ]
sit-ups ; crunches ; push ups; stretch before doing any exercise. and if you're not happy with your self do something athletic. like go run in the park for a lil while or somethig like that. i mean get a friend to do these things with you.

Over a couple of minutes? No. Realistically, to get yourself in shape, you want to be a working out for a minimum of twenty minutes, three times a week. But that shouldn't be unreasonably hard to squeeze into your schedule.
My recommendation? Yoga or Pilates. I've always *hated* working out, playing sports, etc., but I started Pilates a few years ago and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. Yoga is great too -- a full-body workout that really makes you feel better and more energized when you're done. I'd advise going to a class at least a few times, but it's very easy to find books or videos that will help you do it on your own.
Good luck! ]
