Ex Wants to be Friends, but I have no interest in this happening.

My ex (we broke up about 7 months ago) texted me to today for the first time in a looong time. He started with small talk, but then asked me if I would like to get coffee as friends sometime. I don't want to at all, because I'm completely done with that part of my life and he's not the kind of person I would like to spend time with. How do I tell him I don't want to get coffee without being rude? Is simply saying "I'm not comfortable with that" too harsh? He's an easily upset guy.

Six or seven months ago i found out i have herpes aka my bad friend that never gets blamed.... it never really hit me until about 3 days ago ... i tried to be strong but i met this guy and i have been speaking to him on the net and he is amazing ... everything i have been asking for its like its almost to good to be true ...oh yeah it is... i have Herpes... smh... how to change my background on my new netbook compaq

it operates on windows 7. I've tried going to control panel, and where it's supposed to say 'appearance and personalization' and instead it just says 'appearance' and there is no way to change it that way. I have also tried clicking on images and hitting 'set as background', it asks me if I'm sure, I confirm and it still doesn't happen. Neither does right clicking on my desktop, it offers me a number of options to personalize but none have to do with changing the background. any ideas?

severe writing anxiety

I am a terrible procrastinator. I generally start papers a day or two before they're due, and I usually don't have too much of a problem with that. This semester, I'm taking a class in an unfamiliar subject and I'm finding it really hard to write. I'm currently in the middle of writing a paper that was due yesterday, but I am so stressed about the fact that I'm having trouble writing it, and on top of that, the fact that it's late and not even half-done. Every time I think about it, it triggers an anxiety attack. How can I calm down and get through this?

So recently, I have been dating this guy. My last boyfriend and I recently broke up too, but we're friends.
I really like this new guy. He's funny, quirky, adorable, and smart. We spent the whole day together on Saturday, and I'm seeing him today.
But I feel weird. I mean, he doesn't have a cell so we talk on yahoo and Facebook a lot. But lately he's been taking a long time to answer and when he does respond he just writes one word replies. Starting to get skeptical about this. Although he treats me very kind in person, I feel left out when we're talking through the computers. I feel like he doesn't like me. So basically my 15 year old brother seems to be going through what looks like depression. And no, he hasn't been diagnosed, but I know the signs because I've been through the exact same thing and everyone else I've known to go through it. He's been depressed for a while but now it's become worse because now he's showing it.
He's isolating himself, playing a lot of violent video games, writing certain things that a 15 year old shouldn't be writing about him wanting to drink his misery away and how much he hates his life because he has nothing to live for. I get that kids his age play games like Halo and shooting games but in the state of mind he's in, it's not healthy.

I recently broke up with my first boyfriend, and I just had to because I felt we were growing apart, even though he had went on vacation. Now I'm really upset and have cried a little bit, and I think I miss him! He was really upset today, the first day after spring break and told me he wanted me back, even though our break up was 2 fridays ago. Although, a big part of me really wants him back, but then again, I dont know if I should just let go, considering the fact that we will be going to different schools next year, I am SO confused, please help me.

Is it naive to be positive, and realistic to be negative?

I didn't realize I was such a negative person. But last year was the worst year of my life, and things don't seem to be getting much better this year. I started seeing a therapist.. and idk. School just gets worse and worse. I haven't had a great time at school since elementary school, tbh. Middle school was bad, and high school has been worse. I really want to get into the University of Chicago and now I'm even worried about getting into that.. and I keep feeling angry with myself for not doing as good in high school (I'm a junior) cause it's going to be very hard for me to be accepted there. It just seems like even when I try to do things 110% they still can't happen, so why really try you know? I know other people have failed and succeed...

So I am 20 years old, and on my parents' health insurance. I went to get tested for STD's at my university's health center, as I am sexually active. How it works is the university sends you the bill, which you are supposed to make a copy of. One copy you send to the university with your payment, and the other you send to your insurance so they can reimburse you.
My problem is that before I always sent it to my mom, and she took care of everything for me. But my bill clearly states that I have gotten tested for HIV, Chlamydia, etc, etc. I don't want my mom seeing this. I discussed with her today how to pay bills with the insurance and stuff, and she told me I need a password in order to send the bill to insurance. She won't r...

Boyfriend is pissed I asked some other guy to prom instead of him

Long story short, I asked a friend to prom who wasn't my boyfriend. The Thing is, I knew my boyfriend didn't really want to go, although he offered to take me. He hates dances and wouldn't enjoy himself, I didn't wan't to force him into a situation that makes him unhappy. We also have a long distance relationship, so I would have to pay a lot more money to take him when he wouldn't really want to be there in the first place. I genuinely thought that he would be relieved not to go, but I made the mistake of assuming he would be okay with it. However, when I told him he was really upset. We have been going out for almost a year and never fought until now. I feel terrible and want to make it up to him more than anything. Please, I need some advice on how to fix this ad apologize.
