Gym workouts Posted Wednesday May 16 2007, 10:21 pm
So i'm joining a new gym that has every kind of machine you could think of- and a pool. I just don't know what to do (like how many reps of each thing, and which machines should i use)
So if anyone could suggest a specific workout to do there that would be great.
also- how many laps should I swim and which strokes?
Today I did ten, but i don't know how much that is in comparison to a mile.
I'm teenage girl if that helps. I can run a mile at 5.5 mph without stopping- so I'm not completely out of shape or anything. I do need to lose about 20 pounds to be healthy though.
So I need a workout that will help me lose these 20 pounds.

Summer is soon, and I am mainly looking at loosing weight in my stomach and thighs ( they have extra fat on them not needed)
Any good exercises that help either or both?

Well as you notice the summer is so close
I got a new boyfriend at the end of June last year
We are still together
Last summer i wansnt really comfortable with him
Until maybe November 2006
So we've never seen each other in bathing suits
But we've seen each other naked
Now im super self conscious about my tummy
Its not huge!
But its not super tiny either
He loves my stomach and doesn't think im fat
And people always tell me im not
But i always suck in my tummy
So it looks smaller
But i can't really do that with a bathing suit
Cuz its looks gross
Now i cant wear shirts or a bathing suit that covers my tummy ...

okay well im comftorable with my stomach and stuff but recently ive become uncomftorable with my thighs and of course its fat which i really wanna lose fast! i don;t know what workouts or what pleaseee help!

Hi. I'm working on getting my body summer ready.
I don't really need to loose weight, just get into shape. Flatten the tummy, that sorta thing.
I want a flatter stomach, but I can't do a crunch because I have back problems. What are some exercises I can do to get it flatter?

does anyone know anything i could do to make my thighs look thinner? i'm not fat but theres just that little like jiggle when i walk kind of and i want my thighs to be slimmer. working out and running just builds muscle and i do not want my legs to be muscly cause that won't change the size .. it just makes them harder. ive tried eating less.. but that just made my top half sooo skinny and i look pretty unproportioned right now. i need like exersices or ANYYTHING to make them smaller without adding mass from muscle. thanks in advancee! <3

As of Today, I'm becoming a vegetarian. So far its been good. The only problem I will probably is the fact that I've been so used to eating chicken and turkey. Everyday at Lunch, I would normally eat a wrap with Turkey in it. and then sometimes I would get a healthy choice or lean cousine, and that would ALWAYS have some sort of meat in it. wither its meat sauce, chicken, etc.
What kind of foods can I eat instead of what i normally eat? What foods have enough protein? I'm also trying to loose weight, if that helps. but its not the reason i'm becoming vegetarian.
Oh, I'm 16/f. if that helps.

the only way i will ever feel confident enough to flirt is when i feel like i look good. that means i need to lose weight. i REALLY want to be able to flirt confidently, so please help! i'd rather not hear that i need to be happy the way i am. thanks

i get so jealous when i see skinny girls who can wear cute dresses and look amazing ... or just anyone pretty in general. i know i'd be a ton prettier if i lost weight, but how can i be patient and motivate myself to stay with my diet? any tips to not crave junk?

So My stomache & thighs have extra fat.
I'm also very self-conscieous of my legs, beacsue a) they're fat, and b) because they have spider veins and they're just plain ICKY :P
So lately I've been riding my bike for a half hour, and I also play softball (Ends at the end of this weeK).
So my question is..when will I see results? And what are your suggestions to help my problems?

i'm 5'6" about 140 pounds. is it possible for me to lose about 20 pounds by june? not going extreme or anything. just cutting out ice cream, chocolate, cookies, etc. i'm eating a bowl of special k for breakfast and dinner, a lot of fruit, and a sandwich for lunch.

i know this is such a typical question here - but i am looking to lose weight, maybe 5-10 pounds. i am 15/f and about 5' 3.5" and 130 lbs. i like most of my body and i know im healthy but i know if i lost the bit of fat i have i would be totally happy with myself. if i knew exactly what to do in terms of eating and exercise i think i could follow along, but i am not usually very good with coming up with my own ideas. is cutting calories the best way to do it? how many calories should i take out of my diet, and how many calories should i aim to burn daily? and if anyone knows like an idea of how many calories are burned for certain exersises... like maybe a 15 minute jog, how many calories would that burn? and if i did that daily...

i used to weigh about 135, but then i started to watch what i ate and now i weigh around 126-127 and i havent gone above 130 in over a month. i still watch what i eat, but i think i freak out a little about it..i realize how hard it is just to burn 100 calories so i have no idea how to eat anymore. any help on what to watch? i know not to eat fatty foods and foods high in carbs and of course calories, but i need to know what to eat without freaking out about it. lacrosse season is ending, so i'm not going to really have that exercise after this week, but i can try to go on the treadmill. i love ab workouts so i do a lot of those. and they're pretty intense ab workouts, those 10 minute segments on on demand on tv. how...
