I have realized that I need to become more active, which will result in a whole liefstyle change.
I want to start riding my bike, and become more lean and fit. If I ride my bike for about 30-45 minutes, say a few times a week, at a pretty fast pace- will I burn a lot of calories?
What places on my body does riding my bike target, because I want to lose the fat on my stomach, and thighs. So, will biking help me with my goal, and will it help me get a flat stomach?
I am also eating very well, and incorporating crunches, and sit ups in my routine, as well as squats.

become flexable, gymnastics, back hand springs...

i really love to watch cheerleaders and people do back hand springs and cartwheels and all the flippy spinny stuff =] i just wish i could do that. is there some things i could do to teach myself at home? like how i can make myself more flexable and stuff. so that i can do that. please give me specific things.

Cross Country

School is starting in like less than a month...
and the cross country team is going to start training really soon. The thing is.. out of about the 200 kids in my class NOBODY is doing cross country because the coach is an ahole.
Plus, i have to run 3 MILES this year if i do it. And i cant stand the coach at all either. I dont do any other sports..i mean i love basketball but isnt it really hard to make the team in highschool?
I've already got running shoes, but my mom said we can return them if we need to. Do most people do sports in highschooL?? Cuz if i dont do cross country i will still go to the health club and run anyway...i just wont have the stupid coach. What should i do?

what is the quickest way to get abs or lose a little bit of stomach fat? if its at all possible i want to have atleast a hint of abs in about 2 weeks, how can i do this? do i need to do like 700 crunches in one day everyday until then, because i will seriously do it, if need be?

I'm atheletic, but I'm not as thin as I'd wish/I still have a little pudge. I'm able to push myself when doing activites. So basically, how many lunges should I do a day to see results? I don't want to be doing too little. I don't want to start out with 20 or whatever, I want to know what a GOOD amount to do daily is.

if i walk for two hours a day (leisurely pace) and cut out junk food from my diet, drink a lot of water.. how much weight will i lose in a week? any tips on how to lose the fat on my face? will walking help this?

i'm not fat, i'm not skinny, but my hips are way disproportional to my body. they're so wide. if i lose weight, will they get skinnier? it doesn't make sense to me that they would since they're bone.

Ok I am wondering if I will be able to maintain my weight this week. 15/f;between 95-97 pounds, 5'2. Heres the plan:

Today: Pretty much ate a good share, but I didnt really "excersise". (Stayed at home) Probably 2000-24000 calories.

Tomarrow: Eat a 400 breakfast and have a big meal (cant eat that healthy out, but I will resist fried orange chicken!) for lunch/dinner and have a healthy snack when I get home. I will be at the mall basicly all day walking around.

Mon-Thurs: Eat sensible/healthy. Around 2,000 calories. Moderate excersise, Im going to be very busy!

Fri-Sun: Its vacation so Im probably going to be having lunch/dinner out and a breakfast buffet! (Not healthy!!!...

15/f. when i look at my stomach from the side i look thin, but then when i look at it straight on i feel wide.

what are some exercises i can do to reduce the size of my sides? besides bicycles which i already do.

(sorry its kinda long)
im trying to run 1 mile every tuesday and thursday so i get better in gym class but i get out breath so easily because i have some asthsma but i dont need an inhaler anyway in gym when we run the mile it gets hard for me to breathe and so i get a really bad score which people make fun of me fo and when i tell them i have asthma they dont belive me because i dont have an inhaler and people just dont understand of why i cant run and why i hold my breath under water long and why i cant bike 2 miles so what should i do when people tease me?

hey, i know you have your own problems to deal with and stuff but. i dont know i need some advice and you seem understanding and stuff. so, if you could help me with this, thatd be great.

nothing seems to be going good for me lately.
i was going out with this boy that i really really liked. alot.
boys tend to not treat me well..ive been punched by boyfriends, slapped..stuff like that.
& this boy was one of the only boyfriends ive had who treated me good. things were going great for about 4 months..up until lately when he started calling me stupid, ugly, and fat.

my dad thinks im fat?

I'm 15, turning 16 soon. I weigh 115 and im 5'5". When ever my dad sees me he always makes a suggestion like, you shouldn't eat that, you're just getting fatter and fatter. And if i ask for money for new jeans, he says, we'll stop gaining weight so you can fit back into them. I wear a size 0, and i'm growing, what does he expect? How am i suppose to cope with this? It's been bothering me so much lately. My sister, whose 20, is like anorexic skinny. She's my height but doesn't even reach 100 pounds. And my dad always compares me to her. What am i suppose to do?!

Weight Loss

I asked a few weeks ago about losing 20 lbs in 2 months, and apparently it's too extreme. So I guess I'm lowering my goal to 15 lbs. (17f/145 lbs/163cm)

My diet so far includes:
breakfast - rye bread with jam / green tea (I have nothing else to drink)

lunch - rice with chicken breast or noodles in soup with lettuce

dinner - more rice with either eggs/chicken/fish/pork/beef etc. with various vegetables on the side

Snacks - baked pretzels, cheerios or seaweed

I exercise 3-4 days a week, 1 1/2 - 2 hr @ a gym, burning off anywhere in between 400 to 600 calories (depending on how much time I spend there). I do not do muscle training because it's always too crowded ...

bike riding.

hey, i had surgery on my knee & it didn't work out, so i need to really strengthen my knee. i have been running, but it gets so boring, and i really do hate it so i want to ride my bike. also, losing a few pounds would be nice too. here's my questions

1: how long/how many miles should i bike to get a good workout?

2: does riding your bike help to lose fat on your arms & stomach? since it's cardio, it should help your whole body, right?

Running

I'm female and I'm 5'5" and 125 lbs. which is a normal weight for my age. I'm 17 years old, about to be 18 in just a few short months.

I would say that I am in shape.
But..
I have always had trouble running. Whenever I run for 3 minutes or above I get very out of breath and I have to stop immediately. This has been bad for me in several aspects of my life.
My mom did smoke when she was pregnant for me and I have lived with second hand smoke my whole life. When I reached 13, I started going into different rooms to be away from the smoke, because that was the time when I learned it was bad for me. So, in the past 4 years of my life, I have tried to stay away from smoke, which has helped in my opinion. ...
