Question Posted Monday January 24 2005, 7:25 pm

I've just started gym class, & she said we're NOT allowed piercings what so ever, even ear. & your not allowed to cover it up or anything. i have 2 of my piercings in my cartilidge, i can take my other ones in my lobe out but not my cartilidge because it'll close and i won't be able to get it back in anyways. I start it tomorrow. and i really duno what to do. I dont want to take them out because I don't want to have to get them repierced. My mom said thats really stupid & she said I won't have to take them out. What should I do?

When I was on track, they said the same thing. Some kids honestly used surgical tape to cover it up so the track judges wouldn't see. It seemed to work for them.

first of all I think thats crazy. If your mom says its stupid first trying to wear a small stud. you can always try to hide it with your hair. I know what you mean about not wanting to take them out cuz it closes. So just try hiding it and see if that helps.

At my old middle school (I'm in high school now) the rule was unless they are studs you have to take them out. Because (yes this has happened before) things can catch on to the hoopes, or the earings can get caught on something and rip your ear. So if they are just pierced then you have to get a parent note and cover up the earings. But if they are able to come out without closing up then you either take them out or make sure you have studs in. So just get your mom to write a note, and cover them up. Then wear your hair down, but make sure that you have that note just incase the teacher gets an attitude with you. Good luck, hope I've helped.

dont take them out and tell that bitch coach that she can shove gym class up her ass. she cant make you take out your peircings if its not against school rules. meaning minus the "shove gym class up your ass" statment, you wont get in trouble for leaving them in.

at my school, you have to cover them with tape! it's so stupid. anyway, have your mom write a note saying you just got the piercing and you can not take it off. good luck! if you need anything else, send me something! ♥Kristen

My physical education teacher said piercings weren't allowed also and I have 8 piercings but I left mine in. Listen to your mom and don't take them out because I'm sure your teacher won't notice them. I don't think your teacher is going to check everyone because that's just plain weird. I would just leave your piercings in. Hope I helped :)

I can understand why your gym teacher would want that, but that is stupid!! Talk to your principal about it and make your mom or dad write you a note to school saying you dont have to take them out because u just got them periced..or something and if you really have to take them out and you havent just gotten them peicerd I think they will be fine for like an hour without an earring in them. I hope I helped! =) ♥Andie

if you're mom said you don't have to take it out, and you truly don't want to take it out, then go ahead and leave it in and deal with the consequences. how long ago did you peirce your cartilage? if you peirced it atleast 9 weeks ago, then you should be able to take it out for some time and then put it back in. here's an idea, take it out and every 20-25 minutes go to the bathroom and put it back in for a little bit. take it back out and then when its time to go, put it back in! or, if you peirced it less than 9 weeks ago, put a string through your ear hole so it won't close up. even though it looks goofy, it keeps your cartilage from closing up! it's look stupid and keep your peircing, or take it out and loose it.

Don't take them out. That is the stupidest rule ever. Your teacher cannot force you what you're allowed and not allowed to wear in your ear. I had gym and I could wear jewlery and what not. Stand your ground and if you get into trouble, laugh it off. Your mom is on your side anyways.

Good luck!

The piercings in your ear dont even interfere(sp?) with playing sports. So I say forget about it and show up to class with your pericings and she probably wont even notice!! or just get your mom to call like other people have suggested!! hope I helped! -sherry
