Hi. I like reading, writing, giving advice. I love volunteering, but I always save a little bit of time for friends and computer and tv. I have 3 brothers and no sisters.

I'm on a diet and I ate kind of a lot of slices of watermelon today. Will I gain weight? (link)
|
Here's the thing. Watermelon is 99% WATER! So, if you "gain weight", it will be simply water weight that will leave you in the morning when you pee.

I need a laptop for school. All I'm using it for is to write papers, and use it for research. I don't go on facebook or any of that stuff. I do play a few games, and would also like it to run sims 2. I don't need anything fancy, and I really don't care if I have to replace it in a few years.
My budget is 450, that is why i really don't care if its lasts all that long. i really won't use it much, and i don't really plan on downloading much.
what are some good brands for that price? (link)
|
Well, brands are really a personal choice. I know when i was shopping for a laptop, I was looking into dell. I ended up with an HP.
The best advice I can give you is to go to an electronics store and ask to look at their refurbished laptops. These laptops are brand new. "Refurbished" just means that when the laptop was tested, something was wrong and they sent it back up the line to be fixed. You can get a really powerful refurbished laptop for around $300 or less. :)

I don't know what to do with him! I found out from my bff that my bf made a facebook group thing about our relationshp. I went and red a few things on it and it is personal and nothing anybody should know but us so I told him I knew he had a secret he was keeping from me but not what it was so he would tell me or something but he didn't. i kinda thought that he posted stuff and didn't think it was bad and I wanted to give him chances to say so but he just said he didnt have no secrets so i went back to read the rest and he had made it private only so now it is hidden from me.
I guess what I am asking is if he didn't think this was wrong why did he hide it when i found out? He still denies everything and now i got no proof because i cant see it anymore!!! i have been crying about this and i feel betrayed like he has a secret life on facebook or something! should i stay with him if he isn't going to be honest and still hides things?
Sorry if this is too long! (link)
|
My guess is, if your BF made the group private, he is still putting up personal information that he doesn't want you to know he is putting up. What your BF is doing now will only get worse as you continue your relationship. If he told you he had no secrets, yet he is hiding a facebook group, isn't that still having a secret?
Whether or not you want to break up with him or give him another chance is up to you. Are any of your friends a part of the group that could print this stuff off? If so, get the proof, then take it to a counselor, Student Resource Officer (if you have one), or someone else who could talk to your boyfriend about violation of privacy. If you feel that you can't do that alone, take a friend, brother, sister, cousin, or someone else you feel comfortable discussing this with. Good luck to you, and I hope your boyfriend realizes what pain and embarrassment he has caused you.

what does flat to volume means? i just bought this shampoo and in the front it said "flat to volume" its pantene i love using pantene but i wanted to try a different kind. I appreciate it thanks :) (link)
|
"flat to volume" simply means that if your hair is flat, there is none of that shampoo commercial fluffiness to it at all, it will give your hair some body and make it look thicker and fuller.

why do bug bites itch sooo bad!!?!?! (link)
|
The saliva gets under your skin and makes you itch. The best remedy for this, and please don't scoff or laugh because I have seen this work, is hemhorroid medicine. No joke! My mom and I have been using it for about a month now, and the bites go away in less than 48 hours!

I'm a 21 year-old mother of a three year-old and a one year-old. My 3 year old has a problem following orders and as much as we punish her and hit her, I'm ashamed to say, she still won't listen. She has no hearing problems she's just disobedient. I don't want her to feel left out cause of her brother and I defenately don want to continue hitting her but I will not allow her to have her way with everything. My husband and I fight about this so much and I need to know what can I do to solve this problem. Please help???!!! (link)
|
Have you ever heard of Oppositional Defiant Disorder? It is a learned behavior of "I'm not doing what you say because I don't have to". My mom has a brilliant way of punishing children. She uses reverse psychology. If your three year old throws a tantrum, for instance, tell her "You know what? I love you so much you are going to stand here until I'm satisfied that you throw the best tantrums in town." It may be difficult to use this trick on a child so young, but it works because when you give her permission to do something that she thinks will make you angry, the behavior is no longer fun to do, simply because you are not angry with her.
My mom was a foster parent for 10 years, and the social workers loved this tactic.

Hi,i'm 13 female and i weight around 168 ibs...Yes i know i'm really fat but i want to lose some weight before i reach 16,so can anyone give me some advice how to lose weight effectively since i am doing all sorts of exercise and none of them show results...So any advice? (link)

I am just a few years older than you, and in the same boat as far as losing weight. I have been on a weight program for a month now, and I am doing very well, so I will share some of my success with you.
First of all, it is not about "dieting". Everything comes down to a "lifestyle change", meaning changing a lot of things in your daily routine.
For starters, you need to exercise daily. Don't push yourself too hard or you will give up too easily. For instance, I started with a goal of five minutes and at first, I could only do two and a half. Now, I can do almost ten, after training for a month. And mix it up with cardio, strength training, and rest days. Find some motivation and take the accountability.
The next step to take is to watch what you eat and how much. Eat five or six small meals a day. This does not mean eat three regular meals and two or three snacks. It literally means eat five small meals. You know those paper plates made for desserts? That would be one meal. If you get up early enough, you will naturally be hungry every few hours, which is a good thing. Make sure to drink lots of water or even tea sweetened with splenda or sweet n low is better than juice or pop. Also make sure to start with a healthy breakfast. That honestly gets your metabolism going.
The last thing to remember is, when you go out to a restaurant, either order a la carte, or if you order a full entree, ask for a box right away and halve it immediately.
**Some tips for successful loss are: Eat slowly during meals (you will realize you are full on less in the same amount of time), drink one glass of water right when you wake up, and count SOMETHING. It doesn't have to be calories. You can count protein, grams of fat, bites, how many times you chew. Just count something. It is also ok to eat a few empty calories a day. I eat one small bowl of ice cream, or a few of those bite size candy bars. This way, I don't feel that I have to binge on a ton of empty calories every few days.
I know this is a lot to take in. Good luck and feel free to ask me about anything related. If I can't help you, my mom will. She is a nutritionist and will be glad to help. :)

I've been on birth control since October 2009, and I'm going on a little vacation with my boyfriend, and I'm supposed to get my period over it, I was wondering how harmful (if it is) would it be if I just skipped my placebo pills and went straight to my next pack? Would that affect my next period? I'm just wondering. And is it safe? I mean I know you're supposed to get your period for a reason so I don't know how that would make me feel when I did get my period the next time but yeah..
Thanks :) (link)
|
Skipping the placebos is not harmful, since they are basically just made of sugar. However, going directly into the next pack will set your body's natural menstrual rythym off. This means that next month, you might have spotting, no period at all, or even an early period.
So, answer to your question: No, it does not hurt to skip placebos. Yes, it does matter if you start the next pack.

hi well this is about me & my boyfriend.. we both have trust issues..but weve been dating 7 months so we trust each other with everything..but im very paranoid bout him going thru my phone..bc, well my parents split up & now my mom & i are dirt poor, & i cant afford my phone. so, im REALLLY not proud of this, but i send this guy..pictures..& he pays my bills. so he text me last night saying "hey sunshine" & my bf saw it..& he kept asking who that text was from & i was drunk so i said idk then i deleted it. & then he saw i deleted it..& now he says he doesnt trust me anymore bc of me not telling him (he doesnt know about the pics..) & i feel so hurt bc he doesnt trust me anymore (but i would feel the same if the roles were reversed) but i dont have any money and i dont consider it cheating bc idk this person, theyre on another coast, & i have NO feelings for him. but it kills me inside whenever i do it & i want to regain my bfs trust but i just dont know what to do..about any of it..please help?? (link)
|
First of all, you were in the wrong by sending pictures to this guy. He SAYS he lives on the other coast, but do you really know that for sure?
There are many people who try to hurt younger girls. If this guy has the right info, like your name, your school, your state, etc, he could come after you. Scary thought, right?
Second, you should not have lied to your boyfriend. If you really want trust in that relationship, you have to trust that your boyfriend will be understanding about your situation. "Trust takes time to earn, but only seconds to shatter." Be honest with your boyfriend, and trust that he will care for you enough to help you through your situation.
Take my advice: Don't EVER send pictures to ANYONE unless you know them personally, like you've seen them face to face, or someone you know personally knows them. How do you know this guy is even really paying your bill? Think about it.

I am a senior girl getting ready to graduate, and I have never even been to a graduation party. It's not that I'm anti-social, the opposite actually, I've just never been to one. Just a couple graduation dinners.
My mom wants to have a party for me (family appropriate, no beer!), but I really don't know how to go about it, and neither does she. Most of my friends are having open houses, but I don't even really know that that is. My aunt is also graduating high school from the same school, so we are probably going to have one together, but she doesn't really know either. Can someone give me the info on this stuff? What do you do at grad parties, who comes, etc.?
& Personal experience is appreciated over links. Thank you so much! (link)
|
An "Open house" is where the party starts at a certain time, and ends at a certain time, but can come and go as they please, rather than showing up at a certain time and staying the whole time.
Here are a few links to help you get started

Hopefully, these will be helpful in getting started. Other than that, get creative! It's YOUR party, and you know your school best. Good luck, and have fun!

okay so we have this project for english. We have to do a scene from romeo and juliet. Me and my friends were going to do a balcony scene but then my friend had to go home before we could get filming, and then she got grounded so she cant work on it. and my other friend im not so sure is able to come over today and work on it. and i dont want to let them down. It is due tuesday so should i just try to work on it myself?? and how??
PS its a puppet show (link)
|
Well, what exactly do you have to do? Do you have to create the scenery and the puppets? Do you need to rehearse that particular scene?
If you need to create the scenery, I would go ahead and do it. Styrofoam usually works well for this kind of thing. Our entire sets for plays are made of nothing but wood and Styrofoam! I'm not kidding. Plastic vines and flowers are usually inexpensive. As for the puppets, get creative! You can use fabrics, felts, sequins. Anything that sparks your fancy. My mom helped me make a "doll" once, but you can use the same idea for a puppet.
Use a styrofoam ball for the head. Decorate the head however you wish. There are different sizes
you can use.
For the body, we used a 20 oz coke bottle, but you can use a different size if you want. You could also by a plastic cone or a Styrofoam cone to put your hand in.
We bought a doll wig, barbie arms, and fabric for the clothes. My mom also bought make-up. I don't know if you already have the puppets made or not, so these are just suggestions.
If you have to rehearse or film the scene, I would attempt it. Just leave the camera running as you film it. You can edit it later with a program like windows movie maker.
I'm really sorry if I couldn't help you. But I'm glad if I could.

Well me and my boyfriend have been going out for a year & a month . But i just like dont trust him , well i mean i trust him i just dont like him around girls ''/ idk why , he has never done anything to make me not trust him. I want us to have a great relationship but i just cant help it . I just always think about girls trying to flirt with him or this and that . He's told me before that im the Only one for him , he's in love with me and he doesnt want anyone else but i just dont know whats wrong with me . I have came a very long way with jelousy from the start. But like when his friends want to do stuff they usually have girls with them & sometimes i cant go so i dont want my boyfriend to & deep down i kno thats not fair from keeping him from having fun just because i cant , even though he'll let me . We have talked about over and over , dont tell me to talk to him about it because we have . TELL ME WHAT [ I ] can do , because he's done all he could . thanks (link)

Jealousy is a sign of insecurity. Is this your first BF? Have you had bad relationships in the past, and you just don't want to lose him because it's going so well?
"Just Plain Jealous
Perhaps the majority of us fall under this category. We are afraid our partner will find someone prettier (or more handsome), smarter, richer, or just plain better. This is the heart of jealousy, our own insecurities. The tips below may help you overcome this type of jealousy. "
If this sounds like what you are experiencing, check out this website for more information. The info you'd be looking for is 6 paragraphs down under "analyze it."

does he really love me?
(link)
|
If you're talking about your ex, I would say not. Answer this question for yourself: If you fooled around with your ex and got pregnant, what would he do? It is proven that most men only want sex, then if the female happens to get pregnant, they reject the fact that it is indeed their child. I'm not saying that all men are like that, because there are a few out there who will take that responsibility. Trust me, all your ex wants from you is your body.

I recently gave a ride home to my ex-boyfriend and he invited me into his house to show me something. While we were joking around, he started hitting on me. I didn't think anything of it until he pinned me down on his bed and tried to hook up with me. I told him no because I love my current boyfriend and I can't cheat on him. He then told me it wasn't cheating because we were just having fun and we're teens. It doesn't mean anything and he really misses kissing me and feels empty inside. I left his house and i left him really upset but i couldnt stay there anymore.
What scares me more is that part of me really did want to hook up with me and I feel in a way I cheated/was disloyal to my current boyfriend. MY friend told me its just a thing with ex's and sometimes she feels that way around hers even tho she wouldn't do anything.
I don't know if I should tell my boyfriend about it and how much I should tell him. I'm losing sleep over it because its bothering me so much but I don't want to ruin what I have with him now.
Please help
17/female. (link)
|
First things first. If your ex started fooling around with you, and it wasn't ok with YOU, it is SEXUAL HARASSMENT. You didn't cheat on your BF because you told your ex to stop. It's not your fault he wouldn't listen to you. I believe you should tell your boyfriend, confidentially, about this. He should know that your ex is still after you. Your ex may even start to stalk you, as scary as that sounds!

I am sixteen years old, 5'7 and I weight 185 lbs. I know that I am overweight and need to change my ways some to change that. I am so busy with school and clubs. I gave up all my sports (I used to be in track, basketball, and volleyball) to be in clubs and am currently so busy with 8 clubs that I usually don't have any time for exercise or eating right. I usually eat whatever I can whip up quick and the only exercise I usually get is between classes. Are there any fast, easy exercises I can do with very little time. Also, what are some fast snacks/meals to make with little time as well? thank you =] (link)
|
Some of my favorite snacks are
-Celery with peanut butter
-apples with peanut butter
-low-calorie snacks (like the 100 calorie packs, or quaker rice cakes)
-nuts (they are high in protein)
these are snacks you can buy, then just put into a bag or grab on your way out the door.

sorry if i put this under the wrong category!
but i have a weight watchers scale and i am not sure how old it is im pretty sure it's a couple years old. All i can say is that it's white and square lol. My question is that everytime i step on it it says a different weight. I'm talkin within seconds i step off and back on it is different.. like it will sometimes be a five pound difference. I am stepping on it the same everytime.. anyone know whats wrong? (link)
|
If the scale is a few years old, most likely it weighs a little heavy. We have a scale that is like that. It's a few years old, but everytime it's stepped on, it's a different weight.
It could also be water weight or something.

Me and a friend need to learn some hand dances as part of a routine for a competition. We want something kind of like what kaba modern did in america's next dance crew. We just want something that would look cool with just our hands. I tried looking for videos but I haven't been having much luck. Please and thanks. :] (link)
|
When some of my friends went to an anime convention, they learned what is called the Para Para. There are many variations of this dance, and, as far as i know, it is all hand movement.

[15/f]I've had this recurring theme in my life recently. i met my first bf at the mall and then we started talking on myspace. pretty soon we became really close and developed a liking for each other. then we finally saw each other a month later and the second time we hung out we kissed. the next week he asked me out. it only lasted about a week, because it was a shallow relationship where we both felt awkward. the next month i met a guy that i thought was really cute and my friend found that he thought the same about me. i haven't seen him since that day when i met him because he broke plans with me so i figured he wasn't worth my time. that was a few weeks back. but this weekend i hung out with this other guy who's friends with my best friend. he was so funny and sweet, kind of like no other guy I've met before. we had long conversations that day and i feel like he and i get along so well. the next day i hung out with him and some other people and by the end of the day he kissed me. and it was a cute kiss, not all forced and sexual, just nice. the problem is my best friend used to like him and never got completely over him. and i think that now she is feeling upset about the fact that we like each other. but she told me that she didn't care and that it didn't matter to her. and i feel like something is wrong with her but she wont talk to me about it. but mostly i feel like i keep making the same mistake and maybe the reason i do it is because im afraid that im going to get hurt. ever since i was little i used to be weird and no one ever "liked" me until recently when i built up a lot of self confidence and changed my look a little. i went through long periods of depression in my preteen years and now im 15 and feel like im jumping from one hook up to another. but im so tired of it and the day i meet this amazing guy it seems like once again im just going to end up losing him because i don't go to the same school as him so it would be hard to see him. this happens every time. i even tried avoiding guys but they come into my life and i cant stop it. i wish i knew exactly what it is that i am doing wrong. i am a happy person and i always have this free spirit but this is the one area of my life that is so hard for me to understand. thank you if you've read all of this and hopefully someone can help me somehow.
thanx =] (link)

If your friend and her ex are truly broken up, it should be perfectly fine for you to date him. I'm not saying she won't be over him. If you do decide to go ahead with this relationship, make sure to get in some bonding time with your BFF, and make ABSOLUTELY sure you don't talk about him in front of her if you start to date. Dont hang out with him around her either, until you know she's over it. As far as what you're doing wrong? absolutely nothing. Friends just get upset when their exes date their friends. It's just one of those things i see time and time again.

Ok, well I've been hearing some talk about Final Fantasy the game. Well first what is it about? I'm thinking that I should get into it also but I heard that they have a Final Fantasy 12 already, so I really don't want to like waste money by buying the whole series starting from 1. So does anyone care by filling me in on what's it like and recommend which ones from 1-12 that I should get and that can also help me understand the whole story of it? Would Final Fantasy umm Chrisis..something be a good choice? I heard it's 7 years before Final Fantasy 7 so does it mean it's 1-7 combined? (link)
|
I talk to a lot of people who play Final Fantasy. Everyone I talk to says that FF8 and FF10 are the best ones. Basically, your main character has GFs (Guardian Forces) that help you in battle. As you battle, you get EX and AP (Ability Points). You can also get magic to use against your enemies. As the game goes on, people join you, so you can have more people to fight with. Like every other RP game, you have to save your world from evil.
FF8-"The plot focuses on a group of young mercenaries who seek to prevent a sorceress from manipulating an international war. It was the first game in the series to consistently use realistically proportioned characters, and feature a vocal piece as its theme music."
FF10- "The story focuses on the protagonists trying to defeat a rampaging force known as Sin. Final Fantasy X introduced fully three-dimensional areas and voice acting to the series, and it was the first to spawn a direct sequel"
If you would like to know more about the different games, check out this website, which will give you a brief description of all games. After that, you can decide which ones you would like to purchase. Also keep in mind that to play one final fantasy doesn't mean you have to play the others before it. For example, I've been playing FF8 since 6th grade. I am now in 11th Grade. I had had no previous experience with final fantasy, but each game has it's own different plot.

My sister is 12 years old and is the biggest BITCH everrr. OMG she has a huge bad attitude. It’s soo annoying..i’m 15 and I’m nice to her and everything. And when she asks me for something and she’s keeps saying please I’ll let her…but omgg she is such a bitch, like if I’m like hey can you get me something…she’s like “no, you never do anything for me”..i’m like WTF I do soo many things for you…and if she gets in trouble for doing something and I did something a while back that I was’nt supposed to she’ll rat it out to my parents that way both of us are in trouble. And I’m the one in more trouble to…she’s also a spoiled brat…like she has a cellphone and contacts and she’s only in 6th grade….i had to wait till 8th grade to get mine….so basically..she’s does’nt respect anyone in my family…like she does’nt have respect for me, my mom, my dad, or even my grandma…like we don’t really ever do anything to her…she just does’nt have respect…I don’t know what to do with her…like I really don’t know….i tell her she has a bad attitude and all she says is so do you…and if I raise my voice at her she’ll be like don’t raise your voice at me and just backsass..it’s sooo annoying..ugh when she’s on the phone…she starts to have an even bigger attitude…I think it’s cause she wants to be cool in front of her friends…I’m trying to ignore her but it does’nt work…like seriously I need help nothing works….oo..and my parents are tired of her attitude also..and I know most people will be like it’s her age and stuff..and I know…but I don’t think that’s the only reason why….when she was little she was soo cute and adorable…now I just want to rip her head off…PLEASE HELP!!! (link)
|
I agree with Sin C Chic about everything, basically. It sounds to me like your sister is very spoiled. A way to fix this is make her give up something she really likes, or something she "can't live without". Your parents do have to set boundries. It's the only way to get her under control! If your parents keep spoiling her, how do you think she will act by the time she's an adult? Scary thought? When your sis is not around, have a meeting with your rents and come up with some ideas. Since I don't really know your sister, I don't know how she would take some of this stuff. But it's worth a try right?
