I've been in your shoes before, it sucks being young and chubby. Eventually you may grow out of it, I did ... thank god. But it's good that you want to do something about it. Most people these days just lay around and eat the pain away. Hints why their the way they are. First of all you can't just exercise, you have to eat healthy also. NOT a major diet, but just watch what you eat, and make sure you proportion your meals right. Fast food, greasy foods, and fried things are something you deff. want to stay away from. & Sweets. Watching what you eat and working out is a great way to show improvements. & The good thing about it is that you don't have to workout everyday. Set a schedule up and workout for 30 mins. or so. Eating healthy and working out will make you feel great about yourself, and give you lots of energy! Good Luck<3

I am just a few years older than you, and in the same boat as far as losing weight. I have been on a weight program for a month now, and I am doing very well, so I will share some of my success with you.

First of all, it is not about "dieting". Everything comes down to a "lifestyle change", meaning changing a lot of things in your daily routine.

For starters, you need to exercise daily. Don't push yourself too hard or you will give up too easily. For instance, I started with a goal of five minutes and at first, I could only do two and a half. Now, I can do almost ten, after training for a month. And mix it up with cardio, strength training, and rest days. Find some motivation and take the accountability.

The next step to take is to watch what you eat and how much. Eat five or six small meals a day. This does not mean eat three regular meals and two or three snacks. It literally means eat five small meals. You know those paper plates made for desserts? That would be one meal. If you get up early enough, you will naturally be hungry every few hours, which is a good thing. Make sure to drink lots of water or even tea sweetened with splenda or sweet n low is better than juice or pop. Also make sure to start with a healthy breakfast. That honestly gets your metabolism going.

The last thing to remember is, when you go out to a restaurant, either order a la carte, or if you order a full entree, ask for a box right away and halve it immediately.

**Some tips for successful loss are: Eat slowly during meals (you will realize you are full on less in the same amount of time), drink one glass of water right when you wake up, and count SOMETHING. It doesn't have to be calories. You can count protein, grams of fat, bites, how many times you chew. Just count something. It is also ok to eat a few empty calories a day. I eat one small bowl of ice cream, or a few of those bite size candy bars. This way, I don't feel that I have to binge on a ton of empty calories every few days.

I know this is a lot to take in. Good luck and feel free to ask me about anything related. If I can't help you, my mom will. She is a nutritionist and will be glad to help. :)
