Hi I'm Laura. I'm a Christian and I am still at school. I joined the site to help people out. Quite a few of my friends come to me for help about various things and I've had quite a few problems in my life which I've sorted my own way. So I joined because if I can help my friends I can help others and I love helping people out.

Also, I'm a vegetarian, I take my beliefs seriously and I love people so much I just want to help everyone, although I often screw up. everything.

I straighten my hair like everyday..and i know that is VERY damaging on my hair...but it doesnt look good any other way besides a messy bun. i use a cream on my hair before i straighten it but its really for use when blowdrying your hair. I just apply it when wet, let my hair dry overnight, then straigthen it and leave it for 2-3 days. it seems to be working okay, but idk. Anyway i'm looking for great styling products for when straightening my hair and the prices. Also, any tips from anyone on how to keep my hair healthyy!! (link)
you can get deep conditioning lotions and hair masks from just about any good chemists/ high street cosmetic stores etc (i am english so i can't give exact details) to keep your hair healthy.
but really the only way to keep it in tip top condition is to get it trimmed every 6-8 weeks, i know this is difficult if your hair grows slowly but as often as possible is good.

hi.one day me and a couple of my friends were discussing some of the girl's eyes(without makeup) and how beautiful some were.i got lost since i don't really know how to tell the difference so........how do you describe nice eyes?cause i'm quite curious and confused.first,a friend of mine said it's about size, colour, shape and pupil size.is that true

if so,what
1)size? like small or big?
2)colour? i know blue eyes are wanted
3)shape? like oval or circular or squarish?
4)pupil size? i think big or full is wanted
5)besides that,i think that eyebrows and eyelashes play a part in nice eyes too.is that true?

p.s.:i prefer thicker eyelashes by the way.what do you think (link)
i think it is all personal opinion. i know i am a girl, but guys have nice eyes too. i once heard someone describe a certain guy's eyes as 'falling into a pool of water' because they were so nice, but i didn't see the beauty.

try just looking at different girls' eyes and see which you like, every eye is different and there are no rules, you may find you liek some blue, some grey, some hazel or whatever.

hope this helps,

why does putting your hair up help your hair grow faster? is this even true??? (link)
i highly doubt this. my best friend wears her hair up most of the time but it grows very slowly and i always wear mine down if i can help it, either straight or curly, and mine grows really fast. so no i don't think this is true. your hair will grow at a speed determined mainly by your genes and you just have to care for it to keep it in the optimum condition you can.

i have dark brown eyes and medium brown shoulder length layerd hair. im not fair skinned but i am not tan. what is a good make up style ? i always hear people talking about "smokey eyes" for people with blue eyes. what should i do with my eye makeup?! (link)
ok, i'll start with smoky eyes, because they're not just for the blue-eyed. for subtle smoky eyes:

1. firstly, apply a shade of shadow close to your skin tone over the whole of your lid with a brush.
2. next, apply a slightly darker shade up to the sockey line. using a brush you can slowly build up the colour, or using your fingers will give you more intense colour.
3. then apply the darkest shade to the socket line using small circular motions
4. now use a pale shade along the brow line to open up your eyes.
5. finally, apply eyeliner along the lashline, working from the outer to inner corner, slowly and in small sections to avoid huge mistakes. do not use a liquid eyeliner for smoky eyes, and never unless you're a pro. then finish with a mascara using zigzag motion for full coverage.

all these shades are good in brown, make sure they match to avoid stripy eyes. combine this with subtle lip and cheek makeup to emphasise your eyes, and balance out your whole face.

for rock n roll, overstated smoky eyes (you could use metallic shades for some added glam):

1. draw a line of kohl along the top of your eyelashes to highlight your eyes, stretching your eyelid out with one hand, and then apply a thick line to the bottom of your eyelids.
2. apply black or dark grey eyeshadow to your eyelids with an applicator brush, working outwards, and then add some powder underneath your eyes.

simple as that

as far as other styles are concerned, for dark eyes and brown hair, the colours to use are intense, taupe, plummy purples, chocolate browns, etc. also, golds and pale creamy shades work for most eye colours.

I am a thin girl, however I have a 34DD chest. My problem over the years has been finding a bikini that is modest enough and covers my breasts, which, none do really. I understand that they make bikinis for "D cups" but I don't know who does. I'm looking for a website that sells bikinis for big breasted women, but not for "fat" or "old" ladies... I still need something cute and teenager-ish (I'm 17.) Any websites in mind? (link)
i have the same trouble, here are some sites which you can browse to try and find something you like:

http://www.figleaves.com/uk/nsf/qwiser.asp?term=Full%20figure%20swimwear

http://www.bodybody.com/dcup.html

http://www.exelnt.com/index.php -triangle top, halter top and halter bra are nice style tops, and tie- narrow sided- and basic-bikini bottoms are all nice styles. the nicest patterns in my opinion are tapestry and black but you may like others, that is just my taste, not the fashion!

i hope there is something here which you like enough and can afford to buy but if not try googling such things as full figure, DDcup, large bust swimwear.

So, I'm getting a haircut on Friday. I really want something new and different, but not TOO different, know what I mean? I want to look good, not weird. This is what my hair is now: dirty blonde( I hate saying my hair is 'dirty' but that's really the best way to describe it) usually straightened, about 3 inches past my shoulders, with chinlength pieces framing my face, as in bangs from fifth grade that never totally grew out. Totally boring, right? So, basically, I want you guys to give me some new, exciting styles that aren't too weird. Oh, and no extensions, my mom would never let me. As for length, I want it shoulder-length or longer, because I like good ponytails. Oh, one more thing that might help: I have an oval-shaped face. If you can find pictures of the style you describe, that would be great, but words work too. Thanks in advance! (link)
hey!
i would go for a side parting with side bangs and layers. it can be any length, you choose. with the layers, they can be drastic or subtle, so, you can have lots of layers starting at the top of your ears down to the length, or a few longer layers. with the bangs, they can either be fuller and halfway across your brow getting longer towards the side of your head, or much thinner and a bit longer, cut at a clear angle.

it is completely up to you. i have an oval face too. i used to have long hair with long side bangs, then i got it cut to just past my shoulders with shorter bangs, and now it is even shorter with side bangs just past my eye. i have always had very short layers and even though its a while since i cut my hair and it has grown a lot my top layer is still only at the top of my ear.

I was looking on the Abercrombie Kids (girls) website and I saw the bikinis. When I went to the store they didn't have them there! It's been a month since they were on the website and they're not in the store... does anyone know why? Thanks! (link)
in addition to what lagunababe said, often the clothes appearing on the websites of stores are for the whole season as they are not limited to what they can put on the website. but the clothes only appear in the stores for part of that time so they may have already been in or may not have come into stock yet.

hi! our Promenade will be in 5 months, i really want to be fully prepared for it!.. Luckily, my mom bought me yards of cloth so i can let it be made personally for me. But i don't have a clue on the perfect design for mY body! Please help.. P.S. the color of the cloth is baby pink

1. What is the right color that can be mixed with pink?
2. i am 5'3" in height, medium in body;not too fair - not too dark complexion and a CONCERVATIVE when it comes to fashion but wants to be stylish. Thanks in advance! (link)
this is just some ideas...

you could mix it with a pale to mid brown or a cream/ivory shade, that works well. you could also try a darker shade of pink to brighten things up a bit. don't go 4 another pastel shade e.g. blue.

you have to decide whether you want sleeves - long or short; straps - what style;or strapless - what neckline?
do u want a short dress, knee length, ankle or full length?

as an example my prom dress is beautiful. it is dark blue with a similar shade of glitter sequins all over in subtle flower patterns. it is full length, with a square strapless neckline and corset back. i am 5'4" and small to medium build, but fair skinned

i think detail on the bodice may look nice - try looking at formal websites even bridesmaids for ideas, and see a dressmaker for advice - only someone experienced who sees you will know what will suit you.

here's some websites for ideas:

http://www.monsoon.co.uk/icat/bridesmaiddresses

http://www.monsoon.co.uk/icat/eveningdresses

some of the monsoon dresses are gorgeous, i would love one! i think you should especially look at the lucia pleated dress, colette ruched dress, clementine dress and jessica organza dress.

heyyyy everyone!! well, i'm 14/f, and i have long brown hair. i always have it down because of 3 reasons. 1 reason is i don't know of any good ways to make my hair look cute. 2nd reason is because i seem to never have time in the mornings, but i'm sure i can make time. and the 3rd reason is because i don't want the same ones as the girls at school have. and also, i don't want the hair styles to be to time consuming. i want ones that take 5-10 min, but can still be cute. i would eaither like to know of some from your personal hair styles, or websites would be great! thank ya all!!! (link)
i have thick brown hair and i recently cut it to shoulder length but it used to be quite long. i have layers and a side parted fringe (bangs) but i'm not sure about you so this may not work. here is a link to me with my hair up how it used to be: http://www.bebo.com/PhotoAlbumBig.jsp?PhotoAlbumId=1095677972&PhotoId=1441818368 - this style is simply tying it up then twisting quickly into a scruffy bun at the back. this is how it is now down: http://www.bebo.com/PhotoAlbumBig.jsp?PhotoAlbumId=2605865722&PhotoId=2605865874 i am on the left.

now what i do is i gather it at the back and leave my fringe out, then dont neaten it, i just leave it messy but all tied up so some strands are pulled tight and others aren't so they stick up, and you can alter it slightly with kirby grips. then either leave in a ponytail or pull into a scruffy bun. to get a messed up ponytail you could run a small amount of styling wax through the ends to add texture.

finally you can get clips from high street stores and chemists which you use by twisting your hair at the back, then you slide the clip through at an angle and let it grip. secure any loose ends with kirby, but if your hair is thick and long you may not find one which will hold all your hair. they come in many styles and colours but here is a picture: http://www.grannd.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/vtc7455.jpg
alternatively, just simply pin you hair back a little at one side with a pretty slide for example: http://www.ebuni.com/images/hairslides/full/hair-slide-0001.jpg

My hair is very damaged. I wash, dry, and straighten (with a CHI iron) my hair daily. I've dyed it numerous times professionally, but she didn't dye it right.
When she redyed it to touch it up, she didn't just put color on the roots then on the rest of the hair 15-20 minutes later. She put it all on at once.
I haven't dyed my hair since July and you can see where the damaged hair stops and the healthy hair starts. I know the only way to completely repair damaged hair is to cut it off but I'm looking for a product that will temporarily "fix" my hair and give it a healthy appearance.

Thanks=)

(link)
hey!
what colour do you dye your hair? if it is red, reddish brown, brown or black you can buy henna based dyes from health food shops which dye your hair. they varnish the hair so your natural colour shows through and the appearance is natural. also, as no chemicals are used the hair is not dried out. however, do not overuse henna as then you may get problems.

i have naturally mid-brown hair and have dyed it using henna for a year and a half. i use an auburn colour from lush called cacas marron but this (i believe) is not very widely available in the US, but there are some stores. this has butters and other nutrients added to it for even moe incredible shine and health. many people do not believe my hair is dyed at all and think this is my natural colour, unique though it is. i also straighten or curl my hair with ghd irons most days.

also, you can buy henna shampoos which are excellent for your hair. if you can stay away from the chemicals for a while i think this would be the best solution.

Yeah yeah, "embrace your youth", i know.

But that doesn't always work when you're going to formal events/job interviews/etc.

I'm almost 16, and I look extremley young. My question is does anyone know of anything I can do with my hair/makeup/clothing that will make me appear older? (photo of me on column name: pockets). (link)
hey!
these are just a few suggestions for you to try.

with clothes i would avoid casual tees as these are worn by younger teens and choose instead plain or print tops in colours that suit you and accessorize them with matching jewellery to appear sophisticated.

for your makeup i would avoid using blusher as colour in your cheeks gives a very youthful appearance to most people. good, black mascara is a also good idea but don't pile on the liner as you may appear gothlike and this is not good at formal events.

with your hair i would try updos. loose buns are good, and using a variety of clips to hold it up at the back not just grips and elastics can be very stylish.

hope this helps

I was thinking of widening my wardrobe. I thought of wearing lower cut tops. But my question is, if let's say a girl reveals her cleavage, will the guy wanna bang her or something? Will he lose respect for her?Because I definitely won't want guys to think of me that way. So, maybe the guys can answer this? (link)
Hey!

as long as you feel confident in what you wear you have nothing to worry about. if you have a large bust try wearing v-necked tops but not too low as this will reveal your bra and girls sometimes find this offensive. but no, guys won't want to bang you just because you're wearing a low-cut top.

also, to extend your style even more, why don't you try accessorizing in different ways so you don't have to spend as much money

hope this helps

how can i get my hair to stay straight? its about at the bottom of my shoulder blades in the back, and in the front its like at the top of my chest. its naturally really thick and curly. i already blow dry it as straight as i can get it, then straighten it with a Conair flat iron. it looks really good when i first do it, then then it gets wavy or poofy as the day goes on. i put gel in it to try to smooth it out after i straighten it. ahh!

also, whats a really good straightener that i can get for under about $40 [i know i wont get a REALLY good one for that price, but whats the best for that range] that i dont have to order? (link)
Hey!

i don't know about the iron as i am English and i have GHDs which are the best hair irons we have here so i don't even investigate here, never mind in America.

however there are several things you could try, such as straightening serums and straightening brushes (like a clamp with bristles between used as a brush on either side to dry it with.

why don't you try managing your hair rather than straightening it all the time. i have always dreamed of curly or straight hair but it has been rebelliously wavy with kinks all my life. with my straighteners curling can also be acheived and this is as nice as straightening, but more unique.

to manage your curly hair you could try serums to make it sleek so it looks beautifully curly followed by hair spray rather than straight like everybody else. also, it is a fact that well styled, naturally curly hair left curly suits the face better than artificially straightened hair because it is your own and it is right for you. so try nice curls rather than straight hair, you never know, you might just like it.

I like to wear band tees but that looks rather plain. Is there any way to spice up an outfit while I'm wearing these tshirts? I really like supporting the bands but I dont want to look plain or boring. (link)
hey!
band tees can look really cool but they can also make you look quite plain, as you say.

i think the perfect way to jazz up a band tee is to add sparkle, try some black jeans, skinny jeams are best, with a mettalic belt, sparkly eyes are great too, in silvery greys.

Alternatively, customize your tees with badges (band badges or other funky slogan ones are great and cheap) or try something even more creative such as safeft pins with multicoloured buttons slid on pinned to your tee.
