16/F I really am motivated to find a religion that will have me feeling purified. I've already taking some quizzes to see which would suit me, but those weren't of use. Here are some of my beliefs which will not change.
-Against abortion
-Abstinence until marriage
-Strongly against smoking and drinking
-Reincarnation
This is for my own practice and mainly to achieve inner peace. I am very self-aware.
I'd prefer if it were a religion that isn't so common because chances are I've rejected it in the past.

Ok, here's the story. When I was younger, I thought of God as an invisible being that always watched you and could do anything he wanted. So i'd always say "yes I believe in god". But as I grew older, people who don't believe in God have pointed things out to me. I mean it was MAN who wrote the bible, and MAN who wrote the ten commandments. who's to say man didn't make it all up? One of my frieds once pointed out that "man does not like the thought of nothing after death, so the created an afterlife to believe in instead". Another person that doesn't believe in God said "he is just like Santa Claus, used to make children be good". These seem like pretty realistic remarks to me. Plus there is no "proof" that he does exist right? People who believe in him just say "the feeling is truly wonderful". I have asked God to come into my heart many times, but I never feel any different. Does this make me Atheist? (link)

first of all...if there was no god there would be no atheists..the proof to the existence of god is you being here rite now..who eles woulda created you?the problem here is your hearing points of veiws from people who dont know bout their own religion much...how can god enter your heart if you dont do anything to make him enter it?what i think you should do is learn more bout your own religion...whatever it is...if you have doubts...learn bout the other two religions...islam and judism...and then decide what makes sence...we were all created for a reason...

recently i took a pic of myself and in the back ground it looked like some one standing like 5 metres away from me i was home alone i zoom in and its got like a demon scary face i showed my sister and freinds and they say it looks like the grim reaper one says its wearing a black cape ive felt for a while like a ghost or something is following me how long do you think it is til i die? I feel really awkward when people ask me about my religion and stuff because i'm agnostic and don't think there is a way to prove if god is real or not. I really don't want to tell my friends that because most of them are really religious and i'm scared they wouldn't like me if I did. Why do people think it's such a big deal if you don't believe in god? I don't know if I should tell them or not. (link)

I dont know which religion to go with. I dont like christianity because alot of the people around here are fake and they just pretend like they are really good. I know some of you arent going to like me for saying that, but whatever. I dont believe in god. I mean, I believe that there was a man named Jesus and he was a great guy and everything, he helped the poor, and all that. But I dont believe he was sent down from god and all that magical stuff. I just think that the best thing is to love one another and be nice and kind and tolerant. I dont believe in heaven or hell, they were both made up to scare people. And i dont understand why people say god is so forgiving, he will forgive you of your sins and whatever, but then everyone says that bad people are sent to hell. Why doesn't god forgive them?!?! So those I believe were just made up to scare people, "you wont get into heaven if you do this, youll go to hell if you do that." So basically does anyone know of a religion or faith? I just want one that is tolerant of all other religions and one that focuses more on the future than on the past. Supports the wellness of the world and its people and one thats not based all on money. Preferrably one thats liberal, democratic. ok if your going to be athesit think first.If there was no god there would be no athests rite?!ok imma tell you a lil bit about islam.Muslims beilive in God is the creator of the universe and he has no son or anyone to help him create the world.Prophet mohamed was gods messenger that came down to people with the holy quran the book that has all the beilifes of islam.Heaven and Hell are real and God is forgiving.He forgives people if the do bad things but sometimes people just keep doing that bad thing over and over again so god doesnt forgive them because they know what they did was wrong and still continue to do it.Islam is all about forgiving others,not lying,being honest,giving money to the poor,praying to god 5 times a day to thank him for all the blessings he gave us.Prophet mohamed went thru alot to male islam spread through the world.There was this story we had in the quran that said that when prophet mohamed would pray one of his enemys would come and throw garbage around him and the prophet would just continue praying and not curse at the guy or do anything,the guy would do this everyday till one day the guy didnt come.The prophet goes asking where he is and found outhe was sick.can you imagine that the prophet actually visitied the guy and asked him"i heard you were sick so i came to visit you and see if you need something,i noticed you didnt come and throw the garbage around me"The guy was in shock and cried and was like so this is the true meaning of islam and converted because of how amazing islam is.We beilive that there is a day of judgment where everyone gets judged for their actions.EVERY single thing you do gets written down by the angels.Do you think that some things that happen in life are actually forgotten and let go of?nope!like if someone as much as curses at another person,thats written down and youll be judged for it at the day of judgment.That is the day where everyone thats dead awakens to be judged by god and youll either go to hell or heaven.If you dont agree with this use your mind,what actually happens to people when they die?They wont actually stay that way forever,where do they go after?islam has all the answers to that.In our religion we beilive in all the prophets and respect all other religions.Muslim women wear a scarf around their head as a sign of modest and dont expose their bodies to men unless theyre married.Muslims are suppoesd to stay virgins till marriage because god wants no problems to happen,no diseases and no bad reputation among people.If you have any more questions ask me in my inbox,this is just an introduction

My dad died in febuary and he was a drug addict but really trying to quit before he died, he never wanted me to turn to drugs but I did
And I did before he passed.
and one time I was about to do drugs and I was walking down the hall to the bathroom and my dads ghost appeared and started walking towards me and he gave me this face like kinda sad because he didn't want me to do those things.
I fell on the floor crying my eyes out and I feel so bad about everything and how I still didn't stop after that happened.
Maybe I just didn't know exactly what it meant at the time
Because me and my dad were so close some lady said if he would appear to anyone it would be me and he did.
I've been thinking about this a lot and I just really don't want to disappoint him.
I don't really know what to ask but what do you think of this?

i think that ghosts do exist and your definetly not seeing things,its possible.Your dad fealt what you were about to do,he saw that you were about to make the same mistake he did and end up having the same fait he did so he came for you,DO NOT dissapoint him!!!

So I have a pretty good relationship with my Lord and Savior- Jesus Christ. A strange (but not bad) thing happened to me back in september- and I have yet to figure out why He did this.
This is what happened: I was 13 over the summer- and I spent the whole time crying because I was single and I felt unloved and unworthy of having a relationship. I was praying for a boyfriend a lot too. I felt God speak to me and tell me that he would send me a nice boy who was new to my theater group (that starts in september) who would hit on me. He didn't lie- because on the first night of the class this amazingly attractive and nice 17-yr-old guy told me I was pretty and he asked for my number. I felt like I was dreaming. He called me later that night and started talking to me and we were setting up a date and then he told me how he had Asberger's Syndrome.
So, my point is- I don't see why God would send me such a perfect man exept for his mental disorder. When we figured out it wouldn't work out- it left me in the worst depressed state. I turned to alcohol as well.
I'm confused.

ok tell you something.Sometimes when you pray to god for something God doesnt fufill it for you.WHy you ask?It is beacause sometimes what you want can HARM you in a way.Like what happened to you here.You prayed for a looong time for a boyfreind and didnt get one for a long time...that was a sign that what you wanted was not good for you and to prove that...things didnt work with you and this guy.And other times God dont accept your wishes cuz hes saving you something BETTER in the future,so you have to be patient!Your only 13 and you have your whole life ahead of you.Dont rush it.And get away from alcohol cuz it will make your life worse...if you think alcohol is going to solve anything,im sorry to say itll only give you diseases and will harm you and worst of all WONT GET YOU A BOYFREIND!!Just wait and see...who knows mabey the next year youll meet a cute guy that god sent you!!

I was raised agnostic, which my family is. My dad was raised a conservative catholic, but now is totally against religion and so is my mom. I was always very distant from religion & actually disliked it. Now, being a senior in highschool I've suddenly become interested. How do I go about furthering this interest and finding information about it? My family already doesn't support this and I wouldn't even know what to do if I stepped inside a church. (link)

You know,there could have been just ONE person on that plane that has been doing wrong and bad things for his whole lifetime that have upset God.In my religion,there was this story that prophet moses was talking to God and telling him to please bring down water because the animals were dying and people were dying of thirst and God replied sayin that out of moses's 70,000 people there was that has been doing wrong things to bother God his whole life and knew what he did was wrong and never cared and its his fault the people get no water and that if he leaft,God will bring down water,Prohet moses told his people this,the guy who did wrong his whole life knew it was him and started crying and asking God for forgivness and then it started raining.Moses told God,i thought you said this man had to leave?Tell me who he is?God said to him,if i didnt scandalize this man when he was bad why would i when he is now good.So you never know mabey there were people that did wrong things throughout their lives on that plane,mabey it crashed for the good,mabey there was one person that was traveling to hurt others so you never really know.God loves us all,and does what is right.

Forgiveness is a trait that only strong people aquire.You need to be strong in order to forgive people.If you cant,then they either did something REALLY bad,or youre just plain weak.

I was talking to my friend about religions and how they relate, and she told me that Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are very similar in their beliefs. The books are very alike, but have different names, according to my friend, and that the belief in Jesus is how Christianity stands out.
But how are Islam and Judaism REALLY different? [I'm not knowledgable at all with religions, so don't accuse me of lieing and stuff cuz this is what my friend told me]. Just because Muslims believe Muhammad was a prophet and Jews don't doesn't seem significant enough to separate the religions. So yeah..how are they different? (link)

Well, I have to shorten this a bit, as I could go on and on, but basically the story goes like this: One day, as I was sitting in my apartment, I began to hear some teenage girls talking about me throug the walls of the building. I found this strange, but stranger as I came to find they were discussing my thoughts. As time went on, I started hearing them in the shower, then at work and while doing other things. They told me they were psychics at first, and that I was psychic as well. I started hearing family and friends drop by every once in a while in my mind as well. It took me a while, but I finally realized the whole thing was a sham, and that I was being spoken to not by man, but by spirits. At that point, I addressed them as demonic, but having little faith in the idea (Christianity being abandoned due to a hypocritical upbringing), was NOT able to banish them in the name of the Lord. Their words are mostly torment, or "taunting" as they once put it, but at times they are nice, and joke around or have even encouraged me. The thing is, they are liars, and always have been, and they will NOT leave. I don't see any good here, I'm sure these spirits are unclean. Any advice? I think its the lack of religion that always makes this happen.Be careful and dont trust them,they can lure you into doing something really bad,did you always hear them?If you didnt then mabey you were more religious before or mabey you should learn more about your religion and the other main religions mabey theyll give you an answer...islam,christianity,judism...Im positive its lack of religion thats making this happen.If you seeked help in the name of the lord mabey christianity aint what you belive in...I think you should also talk to a trusted adult about this...Try to get rid of them by other religion beilifes...what have you got to lose?i have a website about my religion if you want to learn about it if itll help and its listed on my advice coulmn if thatll help.

I don't want to offend anyone with my questions but theres just so much that doesnt make sense about god and religion. i really do want to believe but i dont understand somethings and it makes me think god cant exist becaus of these things that dont add up.
firstly evolution. humans evolved from apes, there's been loads of scienctific evidence and documentries about it and you learn about it in science. But the bible says adam and eve were the first man and woman, so according to religion evolution cant have existed, well not in humans anyway.
If god is so great and loves us all, why does he make people suffer? i mean even highly religion people. the pope sufferd loads before he died and he's about as religios as people get, so why would god make him suffer?
Also, if god is so great and loves us all, why does he send people to hell? i know some deserve it but surely he wouldnt want anyone to be sent to hell for eternity?
This last point is not something i thought of, it's something that was talked about on the radio but it makes you think. There are lots of religions, but if any, only 1 must be true and the rest of them are lies. people must have made some religions up because some say theres only 1 god, some religions have many gods and all different types of beliefs, so they cant all be true. i hope someone can help me, because its so confusing and i honestly do want to believe.

I need help about religion. I currently attend a unitarion Universalist church and I am taking the class and all that. Oh yeah and im 13/f. I really do not know what I beleive in. I guess you could call me agnostic, but I do believe that there is a higher power out there. I just dont know what. The thing is, no offense to anybody, I just dont believe that God sends people to hl for sinning and stuff. I really dont know about christianiy all that much, but Im from the south where alot of people are really mean but they think they are such good chrisians because they read the bible. My question is is this normal? I just dont know what to believe and its anoying becuase some people are like "Why dont you believe in god?!" and its really embarrising. (link)

I'm a Christian. Lately, I've been worried about something. I've been thinking things like "What if Christianity isn't the true religion and Islam/Buddhism is?" Basically I'm scared that Christianity may not be the true religion. I believe in Jesus, but what if Islam is the true religion? Then I would go to Hell forever because of one decision, you know? Salam. i am a newer convert to Islam. my problem is i don't have any good influences near me. i go to Masjid when i can but it's in another city. i am trying to teach myself. but it's not going as well as i would have wished. alaykom el salam.congratulations on converting.well ya it is hard to wear the hijab in your case because of your surroundings and influences that are....not so good.but think of it like this these ppl are doing the wrong thing does it mean that you should be like them?you can wear the hijab if you want to no one can tell you not to.....when you see all these girls dressed in exposed clothes noone can DARE say anything to them!they yell back and say its a free country i can wear whatever i want to wear!and so can you!well hijab was kinda hard for me too!i was surrounded by my friends and most of them dont wear it and i was obssessed with myself and how i looked like.but then i was like is what they say or think really that important?when God sends me to hell what they say isnt really gonna matter.....and if you need my help ask me
