Flight 5191

Question Posted Sunday August 27 2006, 6:57 pm

Flight 5191 should not have crashed in Kentucky today. Where was God? And does he not love them?

[ Answer this question ]

Additional info, added Sunday August 27 2006, 9:04 pm:
They didn't have much time on the plane before the accident occurred, according to the released reports, but you know some of those people on board prayed to God. What did they pray to God for? Why couldn't he help them? Did they pray that he would take care of them after death? Why would you want to spend the rest of your 'life' with someone who stood by and watched your defeat? Does anybody have any tips on how I can feel better about this?.

God was there. & He does love them. If He didn't, then He wouldn't have sent His only Son to die for them and US. Everything happens for a reason.. I know, you probably hear that all the time. Well, it's true. God has to let somethings happen to fulfill his will. All those people on that plane, well, it was their time to go. There was a girl here, in her twenties, and she died in a car wreck.. it was her time. God knows what he's doing. He's got wisdom that none of us could even IMAGINE. You may not know why God took those people, but He HAD a reason for it.

I have a personal story that does relate to this in a way..

My Grandma died in March of 2005 [my grandpa died the day after Christmas '04, so it was hard].. it was unexpected and we were about to go insane. Well, after my Grandpa had died I told my mom I was NOT going to leave my Grandma by herself [We lived with her.. but my mom was talking about moving back down south].. Well, as I said above, My Grandma passed away. Why? Well, beats me.. But God used it to fulfill part of His will on my life. I ended up moving and I now attend the most amazing school & I am even more closer to God than ever. He turned a horrible situation, into an amazing life. If you want to talk about this more, then please, feel free to IM or EMAIL me..

God Bless,
Nikki.

Who's to say that it shouldn't have crashed? People die and sometimes in horrible ways that we don't care to know about. Innocent people die all the time. Sometimes we think that "it wasn't their time" or "They died so young and too soon". God loves them and He loves everyone. He's not a superhero that swoops in and saves everyone before a disaster. People blame Him when disasters happen, and praise Him when they're narrowly averted. The victims of the plane crash are w/ Him now. If you're asking, "Why does He do this to us?" then you're probably being a little selfish. Its better on the other side if you're following His commands. Don't blame God for death. Heh, I actually hope to one day thank Him for it.

Im not sure if youalready got the answer to this question that you wanted but im going to give you an answer anyways.

No one ever believes that something bad should happen to someone and thats the way people should think. But before you were even born god had your life mapped out. He knows what you are going to be doing every single day and he knows when you are going to die.

When the people got on that plane they probly did not expect to die that day. No one knows exactly when they are going to die. But god he know they were going to die. God felt it was their time to go to heaven. The people that died are in a happy place now.

Theres nothing those people could have done that day. And no one should blame it on any one else.

If its still bothering you maybe you should talk to a parent, neighbor, counselor, friend or even god. They will listen.

in reality the plane had some mechanical difficulties and disfunctions which failed causing the plane to crash, most likely. i think that god just watches us, no actually god is in everyone one of us some how, other known as dignity, or self respect, i believe, but the real fact is its just the laws of the universe, exsistance=life v:s non-exsistance=death. unfortunetly it was all of mans failures of technology ,yea

Shit happens.
We don't even know if there is a god or not.

Accidents happen, its a part of life. We have to grieve, accept it, then let go, and go on with our lives.

You, I or anyone could die tomorrow without knowing a single thing about it.

We could get one single piece of information, that would take someone only 2 seconds to say in the next week, day, or even 2 minutes and it could change our life forever.

We dont know what is going to happen to us.
I wouldn't waste my time beating myself up wondering why God didnt help those people when we dont even know if there is a God to help anyone.

lulabelle answered Sunday August 27 2006, 9:43 pm:
This is a rather complicated issue and I'm not sure I can explain all the details thoroughly enough, but I'll try or at least give you a synopses. One of the greatest gifts God gave to us was free will. That means that if I decide to go to school (for example) there are many consequences, roads, or decisions to be made w/in that one decision. With each road I take there are consequences for each one decision made and innumerable decisions and consequences that lay w/in that (really mind boggling). Some of the consequences can be good and some of the consequences can be ones I won't enjoy. I could decide to skip school, get caught and be suspended or go to school that day and am one of the few who are chosen to go on an out of town field trip (you had to be in school that day). I may wish I had made a different choice, but the choice I make is the one I will have to live with. There actually is no such thing as good and bad. Good and bad is just something we label to explain how we feel about an outcome. Now how does this relate to the flight going down? Well, some of the things that it could have happened as a consequence of human decision is a mechanic decided not to tighten a bolt properly, the pilot flipped the wrong switch because he became too complacent about his job, maybe the control tower gave inappropriate directions, a terrorist did something, or the plane was overdue an overhaul check-up and some executive let it slide. All of these being human decisions w/consequences attached to them. God believes in our abilities and intelligence to know what is the right decision. We don't always follow our instincts and this sometimes brings about those consequences we don't like. Have you ever decided to do something that you know that your parents were going to be angry about if they found out but you do it anyway? They find out and you get into a whole lot of trouble. You made the decision and the punishment by your parents is the consequence. The pilot when he flips the wrong switch (for example) may have had a split second where some voice said you might want to look at what you just did, but the pilot ignores this little voice and the consequence is the plane crash. I'm not saying that any of these examples are the cause of the plane crash today by the way. What I'm saying is the plane crash was caused by something that some human somewhere did or did not do and this is the result of that action or decision. God loves us and welcomes us into his presence. He loves us so much that he gives us the freedom to grow through our mistakes. A few ways that we can stop things like this is listen to that little voice w/in us that is alerting us to "something is wrong". We have to follow our conscious and not ignore our wisdom within. We need to stay on the road to truth, love, and respect of each other. If we could do some of these things plus probably a whole lot of other things I am not attuned to, we might be able to avert the stupidity of our own actions or choices. I wish you the best of luck!

Namaste!

Well, it shouldn't have, but God didn't control it. You can't really ask for advice on here like that though because we really don't know what God's intentions are. People make their own decisions, whether they're good or not. God loves everyone, and because that happened, it doesn't mean God didn't love them. Think about it. Let's say a person wasn't paying attention and their car slipped on the highway, and the person died. God didn't make that happen. The person driving did.
hope I helped <3 briana

You know, there could have been just ONE person on that plane that has been doing wrong and bad things for his whole lifetime that have upset God.In my religion, there was this story that prophet moses was talking to God and telling him to please bring down water because the animals were dying and people were dying of thirst and God replied sayin that out of moses's 70,000 people there was that has been doing wrong things to bother God his whole life and knew what he did was wrong and never cared and its his fault the people get no water and that if he leaft,God will bring down water,Prohet moses told his people this, the guy who did wrong his whole life knew it was him and started crying and asking God for forgivness and then it started raining.Moses told God,i thought you said this man had to leave?Tell me who he is?God said to him,if i didnt scandalize this man when he was bad why would i when he is now good.So you never know mabey there were people that did wrong things throughout their lives on that plane, mabey it crashed for the good, mabey there was one person that was traveling to hurt others so you never really know.God loves us all,and does what is right.

you are right. it shouldn't have crashed today. but god DOES love them ;; he has a plan for everyone && everything happens for a reason. just because this happened doesn't mean that god wasn't with them, or that he didn't care.
