I'm a Christian. Lately, I've been worried about something. I've been thinking things like "What if Christianity isn't the true religion and Islam/Buddhism is?" Basically I'm scared that Christianity may not be the true religion. I believe in Jesus, but what if Islam is the true religion? Then I would go to Hell forever because of one decision, you know? It makes me scared =(. What do you think..?
madidlyqueen answered Thursday September 21 2006, 6:31 pm: Sorry about my attitude, but anything anyone tells about how christianity is the true religion is a bunch of bogus. seriously, if you convert to islam now you will not regret it. you will have peace in your heart knowing that you know like many others believe in the true religion. i think your probably worried because all the things that media says about islam. buddhism is definately not the true religion be cause what you worship in buddhism are man made statues. i mean who what worships idols made of stone. when you prayer to them and your prayer comes true, thats not the statues work that's the grace of God. In islam we believe that God created us for a reason: to test us to see if we abide by his laws. i sugguest you talk to other muslims visit this website: www.islam.com [ madidlyqueen's advice column | Ask madidlyqueen A Question ]

caramella answered Wednesday July 12 2006, 9:58 am: hey im muslim....well anyways the only way for you to know what religion you really want to believe in is to learn about the other main religion....islam and christianity and jewish religion Islam(muslims) is a religion that says that there is only one god and he is the creator of heavens and earth and that noone helped him creat this and that he has no sons no wife or anything like that and prophet mohamed(ppbuh) is his messenger, islma has five pillars, which are things you have to do to become a muslim...1) is bearing witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah(god)and that mohamed is the messenger of Allah.2)prayer....this is a very important one if you want to be muslim, muslims pray 5 times a day thanking God for all of the things he has bestowed upon them.3) is giving money to the poor in the month of ramadan.4) is fasting in the holy month of ramadan....ramadan is a month that comes each year and muslims dont eat from like 4 am till 5 pm and god made them do this so they can thank him and be happy that they have food and to feel the hunger of most ppl that dont have any food.5) last thing(this isnt a must if you dont have money) is going to hajj(pilgrimage) its a place you go to to pray and go walk around the ka'bah to ask god for anything you want and to be forgiven....thoes who go there are forgiven from all their sins.. WELL learn more about the 3 main religions and you decide for yourself im just giving you a clue about what i know [ caramella's advice column | Ask caramella A Question ]
holahayley56 answered Wednesday July 5 2006, 9:45 pm: You would not go to hell. God is understanding. Its the religion you were raised with. You need to believe that God would never do that too you. He wouldn't make you suffer. Personaly, I basically believe, that all religions should like join together, if you believe in one & only God.. then your fine. I think most people have thoughts about things like this sometimes.
It's funny, I wasn't really planning on answering this question, since others have answered it... but literally minutes ago I finished reading something that I stumbled upon completely by accident, and I think it might help you.
It's an absolutely fascinating read about a former die-hard atheist who was determined to write a book called "All the Stupidity of the Bible". And not only that, he looked into many religions and read the Vedas, Koran, Sayings of Buddha, writings of Bahaullah and Zoroaster.
vilelove answered Thursday May 11 2006, 1:06 am: hey. I have never had those thoughts but I have wondered about other religions and how in the end WHO GOES TO HELL FOR BEING IN THE WRONG RELIGION? Well when I went through this phase of considering to change religion my mom told me something which I felt was very important (at least for me). She said that if your religion teaches you to respect other people and respect yourself and be a good person then you shouldn't change it. OK, my mom didn't say this but it is wirtten somehwere that actually people that change religions go to hell because they are 'traitors'. Im not syaing it's true or not but I kept it in mind although I don't know if I believe it or not but I don't have to worry about it because I decided not to change religions for my own purposes. Anyway, what she said makes sense. See, religion itself isn't perfect... God doesn't tell us what to do or not to do... the Church and the Priests or Reverends tell us but that's only what THEY think we should do. There are some religions who have bd leaders or just want to collect money. Christinaity is not one of those religions. I am Catholic and I aknowledge the Catholic Church has made many mistakes but I am still Catholic. But if tomorrow the Pope tells us that we should kill other people I still won't do it because I don't think it's right. We, as individuals, should have our own sense of right and wrong. And I don't believe there is a right or wrong religion. No matter what religion you are born into, as long as you are a good person you wil go to Heaven (my beleifs) and no matter what religion you are born into, if you're a bad person you won't go to Heaven. Even if you do go to chruhc every Sunday. I hope sharing my perspective can help you figure out your own. Good luck! [ vilelove's advice column | Ask vilelove A Question ]
thisismydance answered Wednesday May 10 2006, 11:24 pm: ive been there. its scary thinking about it all. it still always leaves me awe of the mysteries of life. you just have to believe. it gets hard. i know it does but for me just the things i have seen with my own eyes i cant say that God isnt real. ive seen people healed of anything you can think of. the only advice i can give you is to give it time. read your bible and pray.... listen for the voice of God. when God becomes your everything you cant ignore that its real. you just have to open yourself up to it and really make a relationship with him, pray and when you pray ask him to speak to you. once you have heard his voice... you will be sure about the whole thing. (btw Christianity has been around a whole lot longer than any other religion.... so wouldnt it make sense that its the true one?) [ thisismydance's advice column | Ask thisismydance A Question ]
Alpha345 answered Wednesday May 10 2006, 11:08 pm: Let me give you a few pointers.
First, any religion that has any kind of self glorification or reliance on oneself to get to heaven is just nuts.
Second. Islam is a copycat religion. The Qu'an is basically the Torah translated into Arabic and Muhammad adding a few verses in to gain himself some power and justify some actions he and his followers took. Islam isn't real.
And Buddhism really isn't a religion, it is a philosophy. But then again, some religions can also be philosophies.
But I find the first point to be most convincing. Any religion telling you that you can get to heaven on your own means is pretty much wrong. Christianity says that the only way we get to heaven is through grace and faith. And none of this is by our own works but by God's.
And trust me, I have studied and reviewed on a few religions and if I weren't a Christian and was a skeptic looking at them all, I would accept Christianity hands down as the true religion.
But I am a Christian, so it goes without saying. One bad decision won't change a thing. You have forgiveness for as long as you want it.
