about

I'm Christina, and I'm 27. I tend to be brutally honest when I give advice or an opinion. I don't tell people what they want to hear but rather what they need to hear. They don't always appreciate it at first, but I usually get a thank you in the end.

I have 15 tattoos, and 8 piercings. I'm married and just gave birth to a baby boy in May. I'm currently a SAHM so you can find me taking care of my son and binge-watching television while he naps.

advice

I just wanted to thank you a million times. I dont know this "advicentors" site and how it works so i send u a "question". Because of you I found a music video I was looking for. I was searching for hours till I found your answer to somebodys question. Thanks alot again. I wont be able to respond to this because of my holidays. But I wanted to still thank you. xD Sorry to write you a senseless "question".

P.S.: You cant believe how happy you made me. Have a wonderfull life.

You're welcome! Glad I could help.

I'm a 14 year old chick and I have a soft spot in my heart for horror movie psychos. I absolutely adore Leatherface. This can't possibly be normal, is it?

I would say it's normal. Everyone has different taste in movies and music. I think as long as you don't try to kill anyone the way they do in the films, you're fine.

Don't worry about it.

Long story short: I want to move to LA in a year with my cousin, we're going to live together. We just need a change in our lives. How much money do you think I should try and save? Also, if you live in LA or have been there before, how are the people there? Thank you all so much!

Hi. I've been living in Los Angeles for the past year and a half. It's not an easy thing to do. Living in LA (and making it) is actually pretty hard, and it's very easy to struggle here.

There are lots of pros to living here, don't get me wrong, but there are also lots of cons, and you may want to weigh your options before you make a serious move. You also need to ask yourselves serious questions.

First, how is your credit? Would it be easy for you to get an apartment? What are your means of transportation? Will you have a job so that you can pay for your basic needs? Are you going to school here? How will you pay for school as an out of state student?

These are all very important questions to ask yourselves. If you don't know the answers, or know that the answers to those questions aren't good, then you're not ready to move and it's not something you should do.

I've been living here for a year and a half, and I've only had 2 jobs. Both only lasted me a few months. Lots of places say they are hiring, and while they certainly may be, getting the job is very hard. My boyfriend has been conducting interviews at his job and accepting applications and he's been telling me that a lot of people are actually OVER qualified for the position.

The economy here is very bad, so there are lots of things you need to take into consideration. I'm not saying you shouldn't move here, because believe me, LA is a great place, but it's hard to make a living here and if you absolutely cannot, then you need to stay put until it becomes a reasonable goal.

I was texting my friend as I was babysitting and I said to him "Temper tantrums suck." So he replied "Whom is throwing a temper tantrum?"

I told him the word "whom" totally didn't apply... that he didn't use it appropriately. Which of us is correct in this situation? And can you explain why?

Thanks!

I'm usually pretty bad with these who or whom scenarios, but I think you were right in this case.

I think it's "Who is throwing a temper tantrum?" rather than whom.

A whom situation is like when you tell your mom you're hanging out & she says "With whom?"

I could be wrong, but I really think you're the right one in this.

I was born in USA. so were the parents. I'm part scottish but that side has been in USA for a long time. My last name is scottish aswell. So if I want to go to scotland, would I need a passport? I wouldn't see why if I'm part scottish. Just curious, it looks interesting over there. Do I?

Yep. You need a passport to travel to any country (even Canada).

OK...I was reading on the internet and somebody said there use to be repair shops for appliances like toasters. Is that true? If so, what else did people take to shops for repair? When was this? The only repair shops I know of are like computer repair or cars. What else do people repair?

Lots of things can be repaired - clothes, shoes, electronics, etc.

There are businesses like this all over the country but you never hear of them because they're unpopular. They do exist though.

Does anyone know where I can find a cheap digital camera? I want to buy my mom one for her birthday but I have limited
money (100) and she doesn't need anything fancy.

I saw a really nice camera at Target yesterday that was only $89.99. It was decently priced, small/compact and cute. :)

Check out their site, or even check out Wal*Mart. Try looking at Best Buy too and ask around.

I have an Ipod touch 2.2.1 version. I want to Jailbreak it so I can get apps. does anyone know how I can do it?

If you have an iPod touch, it should be able to download apps normally. There should be no reason to jailbreak it.

Compared to getting a tattoo, what is the cost of a cover up tattoo? I have a hatchetman tattoo and i am looking to get it covered with a rose or something... and the lyrics "life is ours, we live it our way...nothing else matters"
the tattoo is about 3 inches long and 1.5 inches wide.
black outline, colored in red.

We are not tattoo artists so we cannot give you a quote on a cover-up. You would need to call up a few tattoo parlors in your area and ask them. They might want to come in and check out your current tattoo so that they can give you something accurate.

Depending on the artist, it could be pricey and it could be cheap. But you definitely need to call them and get a price.

Anyways, I know you say that the song means a lot to you, but ICP once meant a lot to you - so much that you got the hatchetman tattooed on you, and now you want to cover it up so who's to say this won't happen with this lyric? Either way, it's your decision but try to take that into account.

whats the best/easiest brand of tampons to use?
i have a hard time using them lol

thanks!
xo

I use Tampax Pearl. They were the first ones I ever used, and I still use them to this day. They have a plastic applicator, and they're really comfortable. :)

They're a little pricey, but totally worth it.

i'm one of those people who looks SO much better tan. like i should have been born with this skin color ha. is there anyway i can keep it? like without having to put on self tanner and stuff

Sadly there is no way to keep yourself tan unless you were born that way.

I would say to keep tanning, but you would eventually develop a skin condition. Just do a spray on tan or use the lotion that bronzes you.

Sorry!

There was a video I saw on tv on one of thoes celebrity entertainment shows (extra, access hollywood...) showing practices with evan and anna on dancing with the stars. He tells her to go get him coffee with cream and sugar. Where can I watch the full video online?

It might be on one of their websites. It could also be on YouTube or tmz.com

do girls care or think its gross or w/e if a guy mastrobates?

I would certainly hope not. Everybody masturbates, even girls. & if a girl thinks that it's gross, she obviously has a lot of growing up to do.

Well, I'm an eight grader. And every year there's a dance called the "Eighth Grade Dance". I've went for my sixth and seventh years but this year I just didn't want to go through all the stress of finding a dress and such. So I decided I didn't want to go and that there would be other better, funnier dances in high school. But there's a good chance I will get nominated for Queen.. but that won't really change my mind about going. And my mother who hates to shop said that I HAVE to go and that she would take me shopping for a dress this weekend. But I told her again how I didn't like getting stressed about finding a cute dress, and that it wouldn't even be that fun because dances at my school are usually like stand around and talk. She finally agree and said "Okay, it's your choice but I think you should go." And now I just feel guilty and bad. And it feels like I should go just to make her happy.

I just don't understand why she would go shopping with me when she hates shopping and spend a lot of money on a dress and shoes and everything. And when we shop together we both usually get really frustrated. And I'm just trying to spare that all. So why would she want me to go so badly?

She doesn't want you to miss out on the experience. I understand that dances can be boring, and they usually aren't much fun, but with an attitude like that, they won't be. Telling yourself that a dance will be just as boring as it was last year will only make you believe it and it will lessen your chances of actually having fun.

Your mom wants you to go because she doesn't want you to miss out and regret it. I know to you it's just a dance, but to your mom it's an experience. You only get to experience 8th grade once, so you might as well take advantage of it before it's over. It's going to be the same thing with prom, and whatever else once you get into high school.

Just go to the dance. It'll make your mom happy, and maybe you'll even have fun. :) If it makes you less stressed, ask your mom if a friend can come shopping with you. I'm sure she won't mind. Have fun.

I know this probably isnt the best idea, but I wanted to get into my boyfriends myspace, just to see what his ex girlfriend has been sayin but he wont tell me. Shes not a threat or anything im just curious. I have all his passwords and stuff except that one and i dont want to have to reset his password, is there anyway i can get it without having to reset it?

There is a way, but I'm not going to tell you.

Snooping is wrong, and I'm sure that if he invaded your privacy that way, you would feel hurt, betrayed & pretty mad.

Doing this will make it seem like you don't trust him. If she isn't a threat, you wouldn't want to do this. Just mind your own business & leave it alone. It's his MySpace and if he doesn't want you to see it then that's that. Respect his wishes.

Sorry.

Does the Wave really work?

I had it, and to be quite honest, it does work, but it takes a long time to see results.

It isn't instant like the commercial makes it seem, and you really have to have lots of patience to use the product. You're better off just buy the cleanser yourself instead of buying the Wave. It's a great product, but it takes a while to work the way you'd like it to.

what are some fun LA restaurants that are trendy and unique?

Barney's Beanery is definitely a really great place to eat. They have a really extensive menu with lots of different foods and they're pretty reasonably priced. It's a cool environment and they have lots of locations.

If you're looking for a place to relax with a friend after a day of shopping, you could definitely go to Yogurtland. It's a frozen yogurt place, and they've got lots of great flavors. It's self-serve so you can get as much as you want, and at 30 cents an ounce, it's affordable too. They also have a lot of toppings. :)

Another great dessert place is Millions of Milkshakes on Santa Monica BLVD. Lots of celebs go there, and their milkshakes are fantastic. Whenever I go, I get the Shake of Fame. It's so good. They're a little pricey, but definitely worth it.

Pink's Hot Dogs is great. They have a big menu full of awesome hot dogs, and they're pretty famous. The line is usually pretty long, but it's worth it, especially because they've been around for 70 years. If a restaurant can last that long, they must be good.

Hope this helps. If you're curious about other great places to go, definitely try Google or City Search.
