Q: I never really had a problem with public speaking, only the typical slight nervousness before i would go up and speak. But lately ive been having real problems with going up infront of a group of people and speaking. the last three times i did it, i started sweating, and feeling fain, very similarly to an anxiety attack. Now im becoming anxious that next time i public speak this is going to happen again. Is their anything i can do to be less nervous?
There's actually a phobia for public speaking.
Whenever I have to talk in public, my throat gets caught and I shake. Even if it's something as simple as just answering a question in a class.
If you really have a fear, then you should get help for that.
If it's just plain butterflies, just make sure you know the material down cold and get lots of practice in front of a "pretend" audience. Look above people's heads if you must when you're presenting if eye contact scares you.
