about

Hey Everyone :) I'm Kate and a level 2 mod on here. I've had this account since July 2004, so I've been on here since I was 13! Wow ... crazy for me to think how long ago that was. I will admit I don't check in as often as I once did, but being away at college, being in a sorority, and having a job when I'm not at school is very time consuming. I still try to help out as much as possible, and if you send me a question I WILL answer it. This site helped me a LOT when I was in high school and had a lot of questions, and I'm here to help anyone who needs it :) Feel free to write in my forum or send me a question any time!

okay i know this is goiong to sound really wierd but can you guys think of anything to do to keep like "intellectually sharp" over the summer. it always hits me hard when school starts at full blast and next year (11th grade if it helps) is going to be harder than ever with 2 AP classes, 2 college courses and a lot of new responsibility. Anyhow, if anyone has suggestions on like books or games or like anything to keep me thinking this summer...i'd appreciate it.
thanks!!

Any type of mind puzzle really helps. Sudoku, crosswords, even wordsearches can pose difficulty if it's for a more intermediate level.

Strategic games such as Checkers and Chess, Apples to Apples is a fun game that can teach you random information. Trivial Pursuit [junior and regular] are both great games.

If you have a facebook account, add the FreeRice application. It's basically a vocabulary quiz, but for every question you answer correctly, you help donate rice to poor countries [or something like that].

Anything that makes you think is very good for you.
