I am on another site in a forum. I said that if you don't eat, your body goes into starvation mode. someone else told me it was bs, so i just want to make sure what i said was right. if i'm wrong, plz tell me. I have no problem admitting i'm wrong.

Im 14/f and Im really interested in becomimg a vegetarian/vegan. I was wondering do you have ot take any extra vitamins or anything? I already take One Source for Women but would I need any thing else to get all the nutrition I need? thanks in advance!!
You're ok with the vitamin you're taking assuming that you're eating adequately already. Getting enough protein in as a vegetarian is tough but I personally think that as long as you get enough plant protein and dairy into your diet that you will be fine with protein as many people; bodybuilders in particular really overestimate the amount they need.
I am not sure if One Source has the extra iron in it but if it does not; you may want to look into finding a multi that does.
ive been having problems with my ankles for a very long time - they constantly crack and it can be very uncomfortable. then my shoulder started doing the same thing (after i had been training - and using weights) and now my knees hurt. my mom said she would take me to a doctor who specializes in joints but i am scared to death of needles and there is no way im going if they have to do any blood work. my mom said there may have to be blood taken. is anyone experienced enough with this to know if blood work is usually needed for this kind of thing?
Well if you consistently lift weights for a while and heavy, cracking joints is just something that is going to happen. The shoulder joint is a very commonly overtaxed joint. There are natural supplements you can take to help bolster the strength of your joints- Glucosamine being the one I take and recommend.
As far as your fear of needles goes; well you just gotta suck it up and be a big boy or girl- whatever you are. Look at it this way- if blood has to be taken to determine if there is a problem and you don't go because you can't just close your eyes, bite your lip and feel a little pinch for 2 seconds- then you have no excuse to complain later on that you're in pain because it likely could have been cured.

I told you that you're not using nearly enough weight to build any serious Arnold-like mass in any area of the body. You're not going to get leaner by doing weights, you're going to build muscle. You are only going to get leaner by cardio and dieting.
I heard that doing too much pilates or doing pilates the wrong way will result in getting a thick waist? How can I prevent this, and how often should I do pilates? My small waist is my favorite feature, and I don't want to lose it, even if my stomach flattens.

3 times a week should be enough, your waist shouldn't thicken too much.
Ok heres the deal my sister has been going out with his guy marlon for a couple of monthes she says she loves him, but i don't really care i don't think she is happy, cause the only thing their relationship is based off of is humor, and that they are funny people and even funnier together. But i think she should stop going with him, i mean they always agruing and why would you want that! But he's cool and everything i just want her to be with chris brown they are a lot like each other and she knows if she could she'd take him over marlon any day! But should i just leave this situation alone or take action right away!? She said that chris brown is still awesome and everything,but she would never get the chance, but i am saving up all my money so that when chris brown new cd come out in august i can buy two copies one for her and me and then tickets to when he goes on tour for the album and maybe even backstage passes so that she can see that she was wrong and i know i'm exaggerating a little, but who cares! I don't even know if they will still be together by then,but if so and i save up my money and get this and my plan don't work i'm going to hurt marlon! Just kidding! Hahahaha!

I failed my second driving test today, on both occasions, especially today it was down to pure nerves. When I'm with my instructor on a normal driving lesson, or in my own car with a parent I drive perfectly, but as soon as I'm put in with a strange examiner with the sheet of paper on their lap (no matter how nice they are!) my driving goes out the window.
My instructor has advised me to buy some sort of relaxant, to help calm me down before my test - any advice on types, or anything else... I live in the UK so anything that is purchasable here would be great too.

I had an English guy give me my road test. I just made him laugh and that was it basically lol.
Driving is all about being cool and making split second decisions, if you can't do that then don't expect to be a good driver. The only way to stop being nervous is to just do it.

Nothing with a 3lb weight is going to bulk you up.

I don't like those Powerbars too much, but peanut butter and vanilla crisp weren't bad.
I prefer peanut butter crunch Myoplex bars by EAS Nutrition. Now those are good.

It's pretty self explanatory- Some people have problems and instead of feeling good by playing an instrument or a sport- they feel good when they hack people up.
There will always be crime, there will always be killings. Always.
Long story short--My mom and I are moving into an apartment, just the two of us. She wants me to make a list of foods that I want from the grocery store. Well, I want to start eating healthier than I do now (all my step dad would buy was fatty snacks and greasy foods).
So my question is.. What are some really good healthy snacks and meals and are organic foods good?
Beef, chicken, eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, tuna, milk, pasta, whole grain breads and peanut butter and assorted fruits and veggies would be on top of my list.
The only organic thing I recommend is organic whole wheat pasta over regular pasta. Tastes just as good.

Well besides the very obvious that it keeps you hydrated- it is the main transport for the excretion of waste out of the body. Hence urine for example. Nothing really leaves without water transporting it.
As far as metabolism; it's better to drink cold water for one because it's a coolant and it will help ignite thermogenesis.

Yea; you're supposed to sweat and not wear Gucci in a gym. It's nothing a shower and some Right Guard can't fix.
Okay, so everyone's heard the saying muscle weighs more than fat. Well, I'm about 11 pounds over my target weight, but I get in at least 2 hours of exercise each day. I have very little fat on me. How do I know if I'm at my target weight. Is there a set formula, like 1 pound of fat = 5 pounds of muscles? This is Igotamonopoly, if I'm for whatever reason unclear.
Amy- It's not really true that muscle weighs more than fat. 5 lbs of muscle is the same as 5 lbs of fat; it's just that 5 lbs of muscle is nicer to look at. Go by what you see in the mirror; not on the scale.
