Sorry >.<

Well now my CPU usuage is between 98-100%! I burned everything i needed and uninstalled the codec which was the reason that it went so high but the CPU usage didn't go down, why?

Do i need to go to a computer programer for professional help?

Is this really serious and will make me spend a lot of money on my electricity bill?

Thanks, Thew and monsenanna!

When I'm online and click pretty much anything that brings me to a new page(like if I press a link or click someone's picture on facebook) my computer makes a noise. It's not like a broken-computer noise but it's like, coming from the speakers. Anyone know how I can turn it off?

That is very annoying, it's one of the first things I change when I buy a new computer or reinstall a windows OS. Microsoft must have really wanted to annoy users with that one!

Go to start, then run. Type:

mmsys.cpl

and press ok. Go to the "sounds" tab. In the lower part, scroll down to "windows explorer", then look below it for "start navigation"; click it. Use the dropdown under "sounds" to select "(none)". Press ok, and you're done.

seriously, what's up with gas prices nowadays? yesterday my dad filled up gas that was $3.41 a gallon! why is it so expensive?

The gas stations work together to raise the gas prices in one area, so they all can charge people ridiculous amounts without worrying about competition. And oil companies who supply the gas are marking it up *a lot*; Saudi Aramco, the largest oil company, makes 350 Billion dollars a year.

Everytime I try to get on myspace, my computer says Bad Request?

Your computer is sending incomplete or broken HTTP packets. This is either a problem with your ISP or your browser. Even if you normally use firefox, switch to IE7 and go to tools>internet options>advanced. Find and UNcheck "show friendly http error messages". Go to myspace and follow the instructions the error page gives you. If the instructions don't fix it, contact your ISP.

I feel terrible for needing to ask ths but does God really exist??

My family (and i??) are christians but lately i doupt that God really made us the earth and everything around us. If so WHY did he make us and the earth EVERYTHING!!!

please don't tell me he doesn't exsist b/c in the back of my mind i believe but then agian?!?

I agree completely with Mr.Skittles. God, as depicted in the bible, is a horrible, horrible person. Anyone who lives their life according to the bible would be the exact opposite of the morality Christians say they represent. Even if there was absolute proof the Christian God existed, I wouldn't worship him. Since there isn't any proof, I won't accept or deny the existence of a god or an afterlife.

What's with everyone quoting the bible to prove there's a god? That's like me saying "I know everything", it's self-fulfilling and useless. There's actually only *one* reference to Jesus of Nazareth in *all* of ancient literature, outside of the bible. On top of that, it seems to me that the one reference was tacked on by Christians.

Here's my issue: My Gateway laptop won't turn on! I just got it this past Christmas (so it isn't old).
I'll push the button to turn it on and everything will be normal, but when it gets to the screen that says "Windows XP," it just stays there and will go no further.
I updated Ad-Aware last night and I did a scan, so I really doubt I have a virus... Does anyone know what I should do?

When starting your computer(right after you press the on button), hold down F8 on your keyboard. You'll get a menu, use the arrow keys to select "safe mode" and press enter(if you don't get a menu, tap F8 really fast on startup). Text will scroll down the screen and your computer could freeze for up to 20 minutes. Sign into your regular user account. Click "yes" on the box that comes up. Go to start, run. Type:

msconfig

and press ok. Select "diagnostic startup", press ok, and restart. It should now start, but your computer will be severely limited. Follow my guide here to fix the problem from this point:
http://www.advicenators.com/talkaboutmetopic.php?t=269&userboard_id=38985

If you can't get into safe mode, I would give up and reinstall windows. I can give you instructions on how to backup your data without windows, if you have really important data on it(ask me a private qustion)

If you can get into safe mode, but changing to "diagnostic startup" doesn't work, I would go to the F8 menu and select "safe mode with networking", backup all of my data online, and then reinstall windows. There are a few things you can try at this point, but I usually wouldn't bother, since they rarely work.

what is lichen?

second question: do you know any REALLY GOOD dermatologist out there in america or someher else? please hellp i need one

Lichen looks kind of like moss. It's that green, hard stuff that grows on rocks and trees. Picture:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/da/Lichen_07.JPG

Use Google Maps to find a dermatologist near you:
http://tinyurl.com/2rmgvo
change "denver, colorado" to wherever you live.

You can also talk to your regular Physician, who will recommend someone.

Do you know if you really get free cosmetics from teenfreeway.com? Have you ever triend it? As a teenager, I just want free cosmetics without a problem. I am 13 years old.

**It's not the same thing. Spam is in email only, junkmail is in your real life mail box. You usually have to give your phone number when getting free stuff, so they can sell your number to telemarketers.**

You'll get the stuff, but you'll get tons of spam, junk mail, and telemarketers for the rest of your life. It's like selling your soul to the devil.

So I've used G2P and torrenting after Ares and Limewire fail to work for me. Limewire's searches are invisible and all the ads are in place of the good stuff. Ares takes eons to connect.

http://g2p.org

G2P isn't good for specific songs. Torrenting is harder and instead of being able to pick a handful of artists you have to pick through entire albums.

So does anyone know a good P2P program I can use that they haven't had virus/spyware trouble with? I'm at my wit's end not being able to download music. Thanks!

ok, so i was looking arround at questions and someone was asking weather they belive in god, and how and why did he create the earth.

now theres a religon point of view and scietific point of view with everything.

is there a scietific point of view on how the earth was made?

is there a scienctific explantion about the very first humans? [[im pretty sure scienctics dont think we formed from monkeys anymore.]]

thanks everyone!

In the beginning(about 14 billion years ago), there was the Big Bang. This might have been the remnants of an old universe that existed before ours, another dimension colliding with ours, the vibrations of the superstrings, or it just popped out of nowhere(which *is* possible according to quantum mechanics).

The big bang spewed a bunch of "stuff"(hydrogen and helium, mostly) out into the universe. This stuff continues to expand away from where the Big Bang was. The stuff formed stars, which were very short-lived. These early stars made heavier elements that other stars used to live longer.

When some stars were at the end of their life, they imploded into a Black Hole. Black Holes have a lot of gravity around them, so other stars orbited them. These orbits turned into galaxies. Every galaxy, including ours, has a Black Hole at the center of it.

Out at the edge of the Milky Way, on one of the spiral's arms is where the Sun was created. It was created from gas that was pulled together over many millions of years. After the gas reached a certain density, it started to undergo Fusion(a way of creating energy). It created heavy elements that it pushed into what is the solar system.

The Earth and all the other planets were created from bits of rock that were pulled together due to gravity.

Humans evolved from single-celled organisms, just like everything else. In the past we were something like apes, though not exactly the same. Everything evolves at the same pace, our "ancestors" don't exist any more, because they evolved into us.

Read these for an even longer and more interesting explanation:

If I go out into the sun more... will I get more freckles?

Yes, but only after quite a bit of exposure to the sun on many separate occasions. Getting the amount of sun needed to get more freckles puts you at risk for skin cancer.

If you're on AIM or any other site such as myspace, unless your password is saved on the computer, if the computer is shut down, are you automatically logged off? So the next time you turn the computer on, you have to retype in your password? Thanks!!

These sites store what's called a "cookie" on your computer, which keeps you logged in. Whenever you don't have to sign in, it's because there is a cookie. Clicking the "log out" button removes the cookie, shutting down does not.

If any of these happen you will have to log in next time:
-you click the "log out" button
-the cookie expires
-you manually delete the cookie
If none of these happen, you will not have to log in.

The myspace cookie expires 7 days after sign in if you select "remember me", or as soon as you close the browser if you don't.

The AIM site works as above. For the password retrieval section, I'm pretty sure the cookie expires after 1 hour; I don't know what the times are for any other section

If you're talking about the AIM program, the passwords are stored in a plaintext(not encrypted) file until the end of the session. The session never ends if you select "remember me", and ends when you restart AIM(or the computer) if you don't. It also ends if you "log off". When you close AIM, you still appear to others as "offline", though.

Hope I answered your question, it was kind of ambiguous. :)

I was wondering what code I could use to make pictures my caption on my pictures on myspace ... because I used to use this ...

and it won't work is there any other codes?

That is the correct code, but you need to use a smaller URL for it to work. Many people use tinypic( http://tinypic.com ) for this.

Is it possible to be allergic to mosquito bites? Because I think I am, whenever I get one, it swells up to the size of like two quarters and its hard and red...What do you think?

Some people react worse. You can see an immunologist to get shots that will reduce the severity.

To stop a bite from itching, put a rag soaked in very hot(steaming) water on it for about 30 seconds. It'll stop itching for the entire day, guaranteed.

okay well yesterday i went to the doctors for my check up and they made me pee in a cup ... which they never make me do and she said it was to check for any diseases ( is an HIV/AIDS test done by peeing in a cup?) or could it be a drug test

Thanks i was just curious =)

They're not lying, and they won't just "happen to notice" any drugs you're taking. Don't worry about it.

I've been looking to buy a record player for a while now, with no long. Where could i buy one, portable or not, for a reasonable price. And one that works ! I don't have an eBay account, and would prefer not to order one online. Thanks !

http://tinyurl.com/3drqxl
http://tinyurl.com/3245sg

Google Base is like Ebay+craigslist, but completely free; everything there is submitted by users. Google Product Search searches sites like amazon.com and buy.com. They're all you need when searching for deals.

A turntable is another name for a record player, all of your records will work on it.

i aksed a question that could be answered by yes or no, and then the answerer could have gone into detail about why they said yes or no. if the answerer just said no., and left it at that, what should i rate them? they answered the question and gave an appropriate answer, but could have gone into more detail about why they said yes or no.

also, when like 3 people answer a question, and all say that same exact thing the first person said, what should i rate them? if one person answeres the question and the next two people have the same exact answer, i dont need of the same answers.

what should rate people in these instances?

**lol. You're talking about this:
http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=503099
I was just thinking that it was cheap of them to say the exact same thing I did. :)**

Rate 1 only if the answer was abusive.

Rate 2 if the answer was not useful to you at all, but the columnists tried.

Rate at least 3 if the answer was useful to you at all.

Rate 4 if the answer solved your problem completely.

Rate 5 if the answer solved your problem completely, covered anything that could go wrong, gave answers to related issues, and gave links to extra info(that aren't just copied from Google).

Give only one 5 in a single question, unless two 5-worthy answers were within 10 minutes of each other.

Expect people to complain if you give them anything other than a 5, though. This answer is worthy of a 4, for example. Here's my most complete answer, and the one I think is most worth a 5, though it wasn't even rated :'( :
http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=494124
I have an average rating of about 4.9; if people rated how they should I'd probably have an average rating of 3.9-4.1
