When I'm online and click pretty much anything that brings me to a new page(like if I press a link or click someone's picture on facebook) my computer makes a noise. It's not like a broken-computer noise but it's like, coming from the speakers. Anyone know how I can turn it off?
theymos answered Sunday July 15 2007, 5:54 pm: That is very annoying, it's one of the first things I change when I buy a new computer or reinstall a windows OS. Microsoft must have really wanted to annoy users with that one!
Go to start, then run. Type:
mmsys.cpl
and press ok. Go to the "sounds" tab. In the lower part, scroll down to "windows explorer", then look below it for "start navigation"; click it. Use the dropdown under "sounds" to select "(none)". Press ok, and you're done. [ theymos's advice column | Ask theymos A Question ]
