lichen is the symbiotic relationship between like fungus and algae. it sounds gross. it grows on rocks/trees and stuff in the forest, and supposedly if you are stranded in the middle of freaking nowhere and you find some, you can eat it.

i don't really know where you live, but you can call your regular doctor's office and ask them. i don't know if dermatologists are in the yellow pages. you could also do a google search like "dermatologists __(name of where you live)____" and see what comes up. i don't know if it's the dermatologist that would really make a difference on your skin as much as the medicine though. i've used evoclin, differin, and retin-a (all prescription) and it's worked very well for me so you might want to ask about those. also, my sister uses pro-active and it works very well for her.

Lichen's that green stuff that grows on rocks.

As for a dermatologist, there's a lot of great ones. Ask your regular doctor to refer you to someone. If you live in the Massachusetts area and/or don't mind driving to Worcester, I can give you the name and number of mine. He's been my derm for about six, maybe seven years now, and I trust him an awful lot :)

Lichen looks kind of like moss. It's that green, hard stuff that grows on rocks and trees. Picture:

Use Google Maps to find a dermatologist near you:

change "denver, colorado" to wherever you live.

You can also talk to your regular Physician, who will recommend someone.
