Q: I would like teenagers to answer this one,

My daughter is 13. But the clothes she wears are not...happy. She always is sarcastic. She listens to strange, loud music. Is this the fashion these days? Should I let her be?
I'm 13, and most of my friends are. We're all sarcastic with our parents, not all the time, but alot of the time, and we listen to loud music in our rooms. Its just normal teenage behaviour. As for her 'not happy' dress sense, its probably just what she likes. She ust like blakor whatever it is thats making her dress sense 'unhappy'. I wouldn't worry, it sounds totally normal to me, so just let her be herself, oh and if you ever watch other teens in the street, or with their parents, i'm sure you'll see the similarity!

Q: okay i have longish red hair and have been wanting to dye it for the past like 4 years and i've highlighted it, put in lowlights and finally come to the conclusion that i just need to dye it a different color all together.. i tried asking my friends what color i should dye it and they all say "don't dye your hair! its such a pretty color!" but i dont like it and i think its more important for me to like my hair than other people.... anyways enough blabber...
i have light skin with freckles and greenish blue eyes, and i have not the slightest clue of what color to dye it and i need help deciding what would look best on me

Go for a mid/dark brown with rich chestnut/hazelnut tones to it. It wont look to harsh on your skin and will really suit your green eyes.

Q: All I know is that it's really pretty and it has something to do with nails and it's a nail ffile. I don't really know what it does and I know it has the different sides like a nail buffer...but it's like 4 colors and it doesn't hve the shiny smooth side. It's 4 colors are blue, light blue(one side) and pink and light pink(nex side). Does anyone hve ne idea what it is...cause I jus buy it cause it cute...n i duno what to use it for?
You use a nail file on the top of your nails after you've cut them, to soften the edges and shape them slightly. It doesnt matter what side you use, there all the same. Always do it in the same direction though, dont rub them back and forth. Hope this helps, its kinda hard to explain!

Q: hey .. my name is michele (i'm on lauren's login thing). i'm 13/f. I know relationships aren't a big deal right now, but I really like this kid Frankie. We talk sometimes in school, but we don't have any classes together, but we talk a lot through texting and online. Sometimes it seems like he likes me, but other times I'm not really sure. I like him though, but I don't know how to tell him. I'm sure questions like this have been asked so many times, but should I tell him? or how can I tell him without worrying about being completely embarressed?
Thanks !!
You can let him know without actually telling him. Flirt - smile, make eye contact, flick your hair etc. You dont have to answer this question, but, do you go to downham high? Just cos i do, and i used to be totally obbsessed with this guy called Frankie, who's 12 and i know it probably isnt, but i just wondered if it was the same one. (tons of gals like him which is why i thought maybe it was him)

Q: Am I missing something? Do most girls lose their virginities by the time they're 16? I'm just amazed, because when I was 12, NOBODY was having sex, or even kissing... and now I hear about 12 year olds having sex! I'm 18, so I'm not THAT old...

I'm just curious...
I'm 13 and i have quite a few mates in the year below who are 12. Most of them have snogged a guy, and its considered really strange if you havnt kissed anyone. I'm not sure if anyone that age has had sex, but a few of them do touch each other up/finger/get fingered. And i know quite a few 13/14 year olds who arent virgins

Q: is it odd to date somebody a year younger then you, and he's a little bit shorter then you?
Im a female.
No its not, i know alot of girls who have dated and liked guys either younger or shorter than them. Anyway, if you like him, then it shouldnt matter.

Q: i'm 14 and i'm always exhausted!! everyday i want to come home && take a nap, but i'm not aloud.

also i've had a headache since feb 12th & its horrible!

i've had a histroy with headaches & had many tests.

any possible things you can say? blood test be good?

& alot of times i'm so tired and i want sleep so bad, i take 2 tylenol pm to get to sleep. i'm affriad i wo'nt get enough slepe so i take it to fall asleep

thanks
You say you have been taking tests, but have you ever thought it might not actually be something serious, you might just have hardly any energy. Try eating cereals with iron in, smelling peppermint oil, get 8 hours of sleep every night, spend time outdoors, do deep breathing, drink green tea and water, do exercise, listen to music, sing, tidy your room, have cold showers and eat lots of fruit. All these things will keep you energetic. Do it for about a month, and tell me if you see an improvement!

Q: I have super thick, chesnut colored brown hair. I love when it's straight, it looks great, hah, but it's very time consuming. For the most part (during the school week) I'll wake up and just scrunch it, because there's no time to straighten it. (Occasionally I'll straighten it at night) But, the problem is, when I scrunch my hair in the morning I like how it looks. During the day, my hair starts to dry, and whenever it's fully dry the scrunch effect isn't the same, I mean my hair looks gross. I end up putting it up everyday after it's dry. Is there any way I can maybe keep my hair a little wet the whole day, or someway it can look like it is? Thank you.
Simple, just keep a water spray in your bag! Its hard to find these in shops, so its best to fill up an empty spray bottle with water, take it to school and, whenever you have time quickly spray it.

Q: i know this is weird, but...normally im not happy. my futures pretty much shit. i cut and i know i shouldnt but i dont know how to stop.

when i listen to music it feels like everythings going to be ok and my future actually HAS something in it. whats up with that?
Dont worry, i dont know if it will help, but, i do that sometimes too, i mean sometimes i'm happy, sometimes i'm not, but music always makes me feel like that, like everythings ok. I think its just because some people (like you) can get really into the music, and dont think about much else while they're listening to it. Also, some music does have an happy, upbeat feeling to it, some music is meant to. So dont worry, and if you ever feel down - listen to some music!

Q: ok so for lent i'm promising myself to walk the dog atleast 1 a week, do 15 situps a day, eating healthy (tho i can never do it) and practice soccer and tennis whenever i can....what else can i do to get results....FAST?
please please help! i'll rate and comment....thanks.
Eat really healthily, make sure you have 6-8 glasses of water a day, and eat 5 portions of fruit and veggies a day. Yoga is great for toning up, and swimming is also good. If you want toned legs try skipping, as this is the best thing you can do for your legs. You can do running, trampolining, skating, basketball, badminton, and even join the gym or a dance class!

Q: ok well i have like soo many pimples and i have cream but does toothpaste really help them go away? please ii need help. this guy said he likes but i have too many pimples&ihate them too so please help. ill rate high.
Toothpaste does work a little (i do it sometimes), because it dries out the spot, just dab on a bit before you go to bed (you dont want to be walking round in the day with toothpaste all over your face). Tea tree oil is also good, you can put it on in the day and it stops spots from spreading.

Q: i straighten my hair everyday, and i dont use any special conditioners or anything. Is that bad? i use garnier fructis shampoo & conditioner, if that helps. thanks xOx [♥]
To protect your hair from the straighteners, you should spray on heat protective spray before you straighten, and use a moisturising shampoo and deep conditioner every week. Hope this helps!

Q: what are the bra sizes starting at an AAA and ending at a DD with number (34A, 36A etc.)
The numbers represent your back size, so the smaller the numbers, the smaller your back. The letters represent your cup (boob) size. An AA is the smallest.

Q: hey evryone
Do you know those color decoders for clothing- like you wear this color is you feel.... ? can anyone give me some (if you know what im talking about) thanks in advance and ill rate 5s for answers- thanks!
Here is a good colour decoder:

Blue: calm, peaceful
Green: natural, relaxed
Yellow: happy, fun
Orange: daring, crazy
Red: confident, romantic
Pink: girly, cheerful
Purple: spiritual, clever
Black: independent, grown-up
White: laid-back, cool

Even if you are not feeling these things, wearing that colour can make you feel like it, for example, if you feel a bit self-conscious, put on a red top and you will bgin to feel more confident.

Q: how can i make my thighs thinner?
Skipping is the best thing you can do for toned legs! Also try swimming and running. Another good thing to do is walk up and down the stairs in your house (if you have any). If you have any cellulite make sure you body brush at least every other day to keep them smooth.

Q: Okay I really like this guy, and I think hes gonna ask me out soon. However my parents say No Boyfriends whatsoever. I've had boyfriends plenty of times before but not ones that go over to each others houses and go to movies and stuff cause I've never been able to tell my parents about boyfriends. Now this guy that I like, is the type of boyfriend that yall hang out every day outside of school and I totally want that, But I don't know how to get my parents to approve of me having a boyfriend. Any ideas?
Well, before you even think about going out with this guy, you need to show your parents you can be trusted. For the next few weeks, always get home on time, make sure you do all your homework so they dont get letters home from school, and dont be lazy, cook for yourself and the family sometimes, feed your pets, do housechores, or even get yourself a job. All these things show your parents you are independent, grown-up and can be trusted so they are much more likely to accept you having a boyfriend. After these few weeks, talk to them about how you think you're ready for a boyfriend and hopefully they'll say you can. Hope this helps!

Q: I'm 13 and I'd like to know, how much makeup is too much? On a usual day, I wear eyeliner on the bottom lid, and an opaque, frosty lilac lip gloss. Is this ok? I don't want to look like a clown
You're definitely fine, you would even look ok if you wore a bit more! But try not to wear too many bright colours, and remember - eyes or lips. If your wearing quite a bit/bright eye make-up then have very natural lips, and vice versa.

Q: 13/f. I know that around here there are loads of moronic girls saying stuff like "OmG diS gUy iS soOoOo hOT i wANt hiM! aM i iN luV???!!!" Now, I know that teenagers generally don't fall in love, but is there anything wrong with being
"infatuated" with someone? The way many people talk about it, they make it sound like a bad thing. Is it a bad thing? Because, I'm "infatuated" with someone right now. I try not to take it too seriously, but sometimes I can't help it...
No, it is not a bad thing, but you should be careful as infatuation can easily turn into a full blown obsession. When you start thinking about him all the time, and cant concentrate at school because of it, when you start following him around everywhere, when hes all you talk about, when you look forward to school because you'll be able to see him and when you put 'stalking him' before everything else, thats when you know you are obsessed, i should know (i wont go into it now). So if any of these things happen, try to stop doing them so much by keeping busy to keep your mind from thinking about him.

Q: I need some help. I need to know how to motivate myself to do homework and study. I could be getting excellent grades right now because I know I'm capable. I just put off studying all the time and doing homework.

Thanks to anyone who can help!
The best thing to do is get yourself into a studying state of mind. Do this by doing good work delay tactics, such as tidying your desk, cleaning your schoolbag, answering important emails or flicking through your text books. Doing these things when you should actually be doing homework or studying gets you into a working state of mind, so you'll find it much easier to start doing work.

Q: Okay so I've got these horrible cramps. (hello -time of the month-) Is there any way to make them go away? I don't have any medicine to take. I can't go to the store. I tried putting a pillow on my stomach but the pain got worse. It feels like I'm going to puke. Is there anything I can do?
The pain might not completely go away, but the best thing to do is do some gentle exercise - such as yoga - for a short length of time, then change into something comfy and place a hot water bottle over your tummy, while resting - you could watch tv or read a book in bed - and, this may sound strange, but eating chocolate actually helps when you're on your period. Another good idea is to have a hot bath with any of the following essential oils in: ylang ylang, ginger and camomile. Hope this helps!
