Ok so I got my ears pearced in January 2008. Well on my left ear there is a huge bump of infection. The doctor says they dont need to do that side. But 2 am this morning i woke up with pain in my right ear. The earring has gone down in my ear and it stings!!They say Im going to have to get a shot on the ear so itll num and they can take it out. But I hate shots soooo much!!Today, March 13, at 2:30 p.m. that is when i get my shot. And Im scared and I want to know does the docter give the shot in the fat part or cartilage part? Please PLease tell me before 2:30 p.m. central time!It is 11:34 central time right now!!Please Help!

I'm assuming it's in the lobe (fat part).
and listen - it's nothing to worry about. The needle is doing you a favour by numbing the pain. Plus.. you've had piercings before obviously - so this needle will be nothing. Promise.

hello there again. i guess by now most of you know that i want to confirm if my girlfrien is virgin or not.
all i want to ask is how exactly can i recognise the hymen layer to make sure of her virgnity. please tell me how exactly it looks like for virgins and for non virgin girls. please tell me about the main identification features.

She could be a virgin but still not have one.. or it might be torn.

I'm friends with this guy, and whenever we talk, he's always like making contact with me. Like we were having a conversation this morning in school, and he would have his hand on like my waist.
And then we were messing around, and he just grabbed my hands, and was holding onto them.

well ok im 16 and i dont know how to ask this question without sounding absurd. i hope it doesnt sound stupid but...like most teens i go to bed late. cant rly help it and i cant change (trust me ive tried). because i get up early i am always tired. so my question is if anyone knows of someway to have more energy during the day besides of course going to beed early or consuming coffe, sugar, or energy drinks. hope this isnt a stupid question... =]

Simply..
Eat healthy (5 a day). Drink lots of water.
Avoid sugary foods/drinks. They'll make you crash.
Nap if you need to.

If you want to learn to go to bed earlier, it's quite easy but takes a few days to regulate: Keep active through the day, don't drink caffeine, do not use computers for a while before your bed time, read - it makes you tired, drink a hot drink/have a hot bath a little bit before to relax you...
You just need to sort out your body clock.

so i though i had xcersise induced asthma .... but i went to get checked since the puffer i have isnt working....................
the doc checked and listened to my heart and lungs and all but he says there is nothing wrong with me in that way so i have to go do some tests and xrays bcoz he suspects a heart condition.... what other symptoms can heart problems cause?

Heart problems can cause alot of symptoms, depending on the actual heart problem itself.
(shortness of breath, palpitations etc)
When I was younger, I had asthma and a heart problem. The heart problem was only diagnosed when I was ill and he needed to listen to my chest. Needless to say, after many ECG's and x-rays, it was settled that I had a small hole in the heart (heart murmur).
This may or may not be the same for you.
You may not have anything wrong with your heart at all or maybe you're just over exerting yourself.
For now, what you shouldn't really do is try and diagnose it yourself. Just wait until your tests are done and you know what it is, before you try and find out more information on it. Because your question is very broad, and it's impossible to say really.

so this friend told me Oreo cookies contain some kind of drug that makes kids addicted to them. I did not believe her, that sounds crazy!

Of course it's not true. Do you really think they would sell foods which contained drugs to get kids addicted?
Your friend's probably talking about some of the ingredients which are addictive - like sugar and trans fats. Trans fats aren't drugs - but the food and drug administration are trying to ban the uses of trans fats in foods - because they can seriously effect your health (heart disease, diabetes etc) if you eat alot.
Your friend probably got confused. but in a way, she's right about possibly becoming addicted to the junk that's inside them. but it's not drugs. :)

im kind of scared for sex ed because i think it will be embarassing especially learning about it with guys... and im really not looking forward to it. i think it will be akward. is this normal? and can you please share your experiences?

Really, don't worry. Everyone has to go through it at some point and it wont be as bad as you think.
Sometimes, you might be split up from the boys to talk about the more personal sides to do with girls (periods etc). If you don't though, don't worry. Boys know about it anyway - as girls know what happens to boys.
I remember we were once shown pictures of sexually transmitted infections and what not - and some people had to leave the room, whereas a lot of the class laughed. Humour was involved alot with our sex ed, but it did have its seriousness too.
It may be a bit uncomfortable at first, because you probably wont know what to expect, but at the end of the day, it's a good thing you're learning it and it's life - so there's nothing to be embarrassed about.

anyone know of some good ways to fight sugar cravings...? I've tried eating fruit but it doesn't really help me.

It takes about 30 days to break a habit.
It may seem like a long time, but you'll get through it before you know it.
Sugary foods are packed with calories and fats which simply are not good for your health, although they're quite addictive.
In moderation, it's not going to hurt. Just don't overdo it.
Things you can do to prevent getting the sugar cravings, are;
*Exercise.
*Don't keep sweets etc in the house. If your parents buy them, ask them not to get them for you/hide them etc.
*Eat naturally sweet foods.
*Don't skip meals, but reduce food volume if you eat too much, as it's known to trigger sugar cravings.
*Eat dried fruit/fresh fruit.
*Chocolate with 70% coca solids - if you must.

Remember, you don't have to totally cut it out straight away if it's too hard for you to do.
and you probably will feel like giving up within the first two weeks.. but in the end, remember, it's worth it. and you'll feel better about yourself, physically and mentally.

How can I prevent my hair from becoming staticy? It's sooo annoying and it drives me nuts! Cause sometimes it sticks to my neck, and that's really annoying. Sometimes it sticks to the back of my shirt, or it just floats around... and when I grab all my hair it makes a static electricity sound or something O.o.... It like gets staticy on the day my hair looks the worst. (when my hair is greasy.) I dunno why it gets staticy. From my hairbrush, or the fabric my clothing is made of/my coat or jacket?... So are they any tips to prevent your hair from ever being staticy ever again? Or for at least a long period of time. Thanks!!!!

It's a really common problem, especially in cold weather.

These may help:

*Use conditioner/leave in conditioner if you don't use it already

*Change your hairbrush

*A trick you can try is spray your hairbrush with a bit of hairspray, let it dry, then brush your hair and repeat after you've put your clothes on.

*Sounds a little odd, but I've heard a lot about rubbing a dryer softener sheet on your hair to prevent static.

*If your clothes are made from synthetic materials, switch to natural. Synthetic fibres cause static.

*Try other products, such as a small amount of gel/wax/etc.

*Don't drag your feet on the carpet. :P

I wouldn't suggest holding it down with water, because when it dries..well.. you'll be back to square one.

If a guy your dateing doesnt call you and stops texting you, does this mean he doesnt like you anymore? I havent talked to him for over four days. almost five, and we havent even been dateing that long. I mean i texted him and he never texts me back.and left him a voice mail. and i dont do it constently either. I do give him space..but i dont know. is he iggnoring me or avoiding me? twice i called him and it rang 4 times.. it was on.

Give him a little longer to contact you. There may be a reason why he hasn't been able to get in touch.
If he doesn't, though, it sounds like he's just using a crap way to end the relationship.

Let's start off with the fact that i love to act, i've been in over 15 shows, but recently i was performing Romeo and Juliet, and i got the role of Juliet. Well the guy who was Romeo was kind of a nerd and i didn't want to kiss him on stage at all, but after going threw that scene where i kissed him i kind of liked it. Later in rehearsals and cast parties we started to hang out and we flirted a lot! And i started to really like him. So i went to his best friend and told her that i liked him and asked if he might like be back, but she flicked me off and told me that she was in love with him and that he probably hated me. Do you think i have the right to be mad at her and keep flirting with him or should i just stop liking him?

She sounds very jealous you like him AND got to kiss him. There's no reason why you can't like him and go for it. It's not like she's his girlfriend.
Don't talk to her about him in future. She sees you as a threat because she wants him for herself.

okay yesterday i got my period FOR ONLY THE SECOND TIME IN MY LIFE and last night i wore a pad to bed and i was sleeping on my back any the blood leaked even tho i was wearing pants underwear and a pad. and on my bottome sheet was a blood stain the size of my hand.
how do i prevent that??

*If you sleep on your back, make sure the pad covers the back side of your underwear more than the front, or use 2 to cover it all.

*Sleep on a towel or something which won't ruin your bed.

*Perhaps put tissue on the outside of your underwear, incase it leaks through, so it wont go onto your pants and bed.

*If you're prone to heavy periods, if you can, get up and change your pad through the night.


You'll get the hang of it. Don't worry. I'm sure it's happened to many people.

I'm thinking that I have one, but I'm not certain. There's an uncomfortable slight burning, mainly just unfomfortable feeling in my vajj. It's itchy sometimes, and burns when I piss.
I am sexually active, I was thinking it might be an allergic reaction to latex, but I'm not sure.

Sounds like a UTI more than a yeast infection, but you need to see a doctor either way to get it treated. It's not something you want to leave longer than you should, because it will probably get worse.

No, you were right. I don't like it when people read my txt messages either. Not because I'm hiding anything, but because they're to ME - noone else and it's basically invading my privacy.
This is his trust issue he needs to work at. Explain to him there's nothing he needs to worry about.. and you feel hurt that you need to prove it to him in such a silly way of showing him your txts.

ok so theres this guy that i like in my 2nd 3rd and 4th period classes. he sitts beside me inn all of them. in 2nd, he ALWAYS talks to me instead of his like best friend. then in 3rd, he is like a complete jerk and ignores me and is always telling me to shut up in front of his other friend. then in fourth, he talks to me like nothing just happened. im so confuseed...sometimes i get the feeling that he likes me and them like 10 mins later i feel like he hates me.

He might be confused whether he likes you.. or he's trying to show off to his other friend by being horrible to you. 13 year old boys can be immature, after all.
Just ask him why he does it. It might make him realize if he does like you more than a friend, he's going the wrong way about it.

All condoms CAN break. So if people have had a bad experience with one brand, they might not feel comfortable using it again. It's all about personal preference. All the top brands are fine and have gone through tests to prove they're good. May be the same wherever you are, too.
Just make sure you store them in a place they won't get damaged, too hot.. and make sure they're still in date and they are put on correctly.
