so this friend told me Oreo cookies contain some kind of drug that makes kids addicted to them. I did not believe her, that sounds crazy!
Does anyone know if this happens to be true or not??
Plz Plz I wanna know
thelaura answered Thursday March 13 2008, 9:03 am: Of course it's not true. Do you really think they would sell foods which contained drugs to get kids addicted?
Your friend's probably talking about some of the ingredients which are addictive - like sugar and trans fats. Trans fats aren't drugs - but the food and drug administration are trying to ban the uses of trans fats in foods - because they can seriously effect your health (heart disease, diabetes etc) if you eat alot.
Your friend probably got confused. but in a way, she's right about possibly becoming addicted to the junk that's inside them. but it's not drugs. :)

It's really sad it's used in quite a bit of food. Try to avoid trans fats at all costs. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]
