Listen to your friend with concern.

Be especially concerned if your friend takes drugs and/or alcohol because their judgement is impaired.
Ask if your friend has suicidal thoughts.
Let your friend know that many people think about suicide but never actually attempt it.
Give your friend a hotline number and make sure your friend calls.
Stay with a depressed person. Do something together.

my moms best friends son is 14/m (hes going into 9th grade) and we went to dinner with them tonight and he was really quiet and while all the adults were talking and all the kids were running around he picked up his knife and started kinda sawing at the back of his hand and the second he saw that i saw what he was doing, he stopped. and later that night he asked if he could walk home to practice his guitar before they all got home (we are neighbors and we all live close to where we were having dinner but not close enough that most people would walk home right before a big thunderstorm) and when his dad said that they were all going home anyway he looked kind of mad. so i guess i have two questions, can you cut the back of your hand (like cutting suicide wise) and should i be worried about him like what should i do

You should be worried. Cutting your self is a serious thing. Many people do it so try to get rid of pain. I would recomend talking to him about it. tell him that he needs to see some one about this.

How exactly is being anorexic bad for you? People has said that if you're anorexic your body loses all these nutrients but what are the actual like 'symptoms' you get if you're anorexic. Besides dizzyness and fatigue.

When your anorexic, your not getting the nutrients your body needs to keep going. It reduses the blood flow and you loose tons of your energy. Soon you become pale and very fragile and your organs stop working properaly.

Hi, I know this might be a stupid question....
My boyfriend and I have fooled around naked, although not had sex. My period is now late, could I be pregnant?
Only if he, um, ejaculated somewhere around your "cha cha" and the sperm found its way it can you get pregnant. If he got no wear near that arean then its almost impossible. And one thing i can say about the late period is that you could be under alot of stress and and that caused you to miss your period. Now if you rare pregnant, i would recomend going to your physician. if thats not possible or can't be arranged, go to your local drug store or pharmacy and buy a home pregnancy test. Just to be safe, i would buy 2 so you can retest. I would recomend EPT. If im correct, it is 99.9% Accurate.

Actually no there is no age limit. And one way you can get your book published is going to an english teacher or a person who knows about writing. Get recomendations from them. Then reasearch up publishing companies that publish the kind of book your writing. Make as many copies as there is publishers your intrested in. Then send out your book with a preferably lenghtly letter on how you wrote this book why you wrote it and how much it means to you that it gets published.

Im not very positive about myself. If im at the mall with my best friend or something (shes SUPER pretty) and guys are like all over her I feel really bad. I try everything to make myself prettier. I have some acne and im really skinny but not aneroxic. Im going up to west virgina to see this guy next week.. What can I do to make myself more prettier?
For your acne, i would recomend Clean and clear bursting beads mornign wash and then the morning glow lotion. It gives you face a glow. Then put on a foundation as close as possible to your skin color. Rub it in good with a foundation brush. Then out cover up on your acne spots. Rub it in the foundation spots. Make sure it blends in well. The find a bright but not to bright, in the middle of dark and light, blush, focus the color more above then you would usually put you blush on. Then take a darker sgade of pink or a light brown. Put it under the blush then blend it toghter. This will empasize your cheek bones. Then get a dark brown or a dark tope color eye liner. Put it on the inside of bottem lid and the top lid. The on the top lid put a thin line of a black eyeliner right above your eyelashes. Then take a dark color eye shadow. Put it in the crease of your eye and once again blend. Then take a samon color pink and put it on the bottom part of the lid. Then smooth the crease color and the samon color together, so it will look more naturual. Then on the top part of the lid, focus mainly with a shimmer(preferably a pink color).Also spread some of the pink shimmer under the bottom of the eye. Now to the lips. Take a nutral color like a light pink or an orangy pink. Rub it on the lips with a thin lip stick brush. Then take a darker shade like a maroon color. Put dots of it on you lips then take the lipstick brush and blend together it should give a very grown up shade that will impress. Then get some of your favorite lip gloss and put it on over the lipstick on the middle part of the top and all over the bottom.
Now for your hair. Depending on what kind of hair you have, i would recomend straightening it. When straighteniong it, use ION straightening formula. It gives it a shiny look. But dont spray it on your hair. Spray it on your hands and rub together for 15 seconds. then hand comb into all of your hair. Now make shure the part is to the side not the middle. This may take awhile alltogether. But it will be worht it

i'm going to florida in 2 weeks and i'm staying there for awhile. when i wake up early in the morning to go to the parks and stuff, after i get out of the shower i don't really have all that much time to do my hair. i don't like blowdrying it down there because it is really hot! does anyone have any cute & easy hairstyle that i could do while my hair is wet without making it frizzy? thanks! i rate high!
When i dont ahve time in the morning, what i do is garb my hair, put it in a pony tail. Then i take my pony tail, mess it up then put it in a messy bun. every once in a while take it down, schrunch it, then put it back up. repeat this for about 3 hours. Soon your hair will be a pretty wave style with some curls. Its very pretty and it looks llike you spent alot of time on it!

Okay, I have a problem.
I have a dance performance on the 17 and 18 of June, I normally get my period on the 15th. I have researched tampons and the pros and cons but the problem is they(tampax.com) say that when you start to wear tampons you should just wear the ones for lighter days. That sucks because my period is normally really heavy and the preformance is from 5:30 to about 12:00 both nights. There is only one bathroom and its normally filled during recital nights. I have my dressing room with about 60 other girls and there is no possible way I could wear pads with my costumes, one I have too many white outfits and two I move around too much on stage. I can't have the pad go flinging out. That would be disgusting.
So the question is, is it okay to try wearing tampons for heavier flo on my first time?
Yes, I have tried tampons before and it always feels uncomfortable because i'm not use to having string stick out of my vagina but I would go with the discomfort for my dance.
i would recomend pearl tampons. I find them very comfortable. But you will have to get used to the string, because if you can't then you will have to wear a pad which obviously will stick out under your outfits.

What you should do is pretend that you aren't intrested. If it seems like he he is intrested then most likely he is. He is basically taking advantage of what he can get. He is tryin to see how long you will like him. The longer you like him the more he feels macho. So for a while pretend you dont like him, like by flirting with other guys. He will soon be crawling back to you.

Trust me . You dont want to give in. Once he gets what he wants, he will drop you like a fly. Plus your still in Junior high. You should atleast hold off untill your around 17 or 18. Rub acohol on the parts the were shaved. This will close up the pores and prevent's redness and inchyness. The only side effect is that it will burn a little at first.Afterwords rub some lotion on your bikini line to help also. Preferably no frangranced.
