Hi all well im babysitting 3 girls after xmas can anyone give me some ideas on how to keep them busy so its a bit easyer for me

i babysit my little sisters (10 and 7) all the time, not to mention my 7 and 8 year old cousins and a 2 1/2 year old boy.
1) television - barney or bob the builder for little kids, cartoons and stuff for older kids
2)paper and crayons for older kids, its not safe for little kids
3)toys - if you are staying at the kids house you can use their toys, if they are coming to your house, get their parents to bring some.
4) movies - disney movies only please! lol like alladin, cinderella, beauty and the beast, and alice in wonderland
5) play hide and go seek - with toys or with them. hiding toys and letting them find the toys will keep them busy forever!
6) reading books - childrens books, picture and pop up books.
7) make up stories and tell the stories.
8) make up "plays" with them, let them help with the characters.
9) play dolls with them - they are girls, most girls like dolls
10) play house - this will be enjoyable for the girls and easy.

Hey everyone. I have my own column, but I can't answer my own question. I met a guy online back in May or around that time. We didn't talk much until now, and we've gotten soooo much closer. We both think we're soulmates and meant for each other. Even though I haven't met him, I feel this connection, and it's really cool. I just don't know what to think though, because I hear all those stories on the news and everything, and it really scares me. What if he's a rapist or a serial killer or something?! I really don't think he is, because of some of the conversations we've have, but there's always that chance. I just want to know you're opinions on this, and what I should do about it. Is there anyway I can find out he's really 16 w/o actually meeting him? Thx in advance, sorry about the length. Happy Holidays 2 everyone!

are you nuts!? i have read so many horror stories and know people personally who had an online b/f or g/f and almost died or did. for all you know this guy may be a 60 year old freak rapist/serial murderer who is wanted in 8 states! there is no way for you to tell if hes actually 16 or if hes 60. if you are insistant on meeting him (which is a foolhardy move and should be avoided) than take several friends (guys and girls) and your parents that way he would have a harder time doing anything. who knows. he might be a nice guy. but there is always a lingering chance. sorry. break it up, its not safe.

hey i have a question for you horseback riders out there. okay so we were going to buy a horse and were all up for it and stuff (for my christmas present) but then my dad meets this guy on a business trip who talks to him about horses and stuff and how my riding coach is not right and that she shouldn't be trusted. apparently this guy has won a lot of awards or whatever and ugh i dont know. he rides western and i ride english. he told my dad that i shouldnt even ride english if i just like the joy of riding.. he says theres a 15% chance i can get paralyzed if i fall. so now my dad's all up in my ass right. and now he says the boarding fees at my horseback riding place are WAY too high and that my coach doesn't know what she's doing after his little "talk". he still has this guys business card. SO. my question is.. how much should you spend on your first horse? and also how long did you wait? i'm not jumping yet, just cantering. help would be so appreciated. thanks so much! (link)

ok, well, it depends. i spent around 2.5k on my QH mare. if you are wanting a pleasure horse that isnt too old then i would say that 2k-5k is a good range. i also ride english** but i am jumping. it also depends on if the horse you purchase knows how to jump already. i get to train my mare to jump.:) but if you are wanting a high class cometition horse, expect to pay around 10K or more. of course, i keep my horse on my own property, so that means that i have a little less expenses than you. and it depends on if you have a saddle or whatever. tell your dad that the freak that told him that if you fall off that there is a 15% chance that you will be paralyzed that there are more dangers in riding western: getting your thumb caught in the pommel and literally pulling it off.(i know two people personally who had this happen) getting your foot hung in the stirrup and breaking a leg(know people who had this happen), breaking a rib on the saddle horn(yup, know people who had this happen too) and falling off and breaking a neck. because normally western riders dont wear helments - especially not in shows - there is a greater risk for hurting your head and neck. english riders wear helments! oh yeah! (hehe i like my helment, i bought a fun cover for it so its not so plain)
your coach probably does know what she's doing. and your dad probably doesnt know why the fees are so high. tell him that feed costs about $11:50 for a 50 lb sack of straight oats and add about 5 bucks if its sweet feed. add about 6 bucks to the first number if its senior. plus supplements like rice bran, MSM, corta flex, bio plus, aspirin, and more. all are pretty pricy. plus the cost of shavings/wood/paper for bedding in the stalls. so if you add that up, its not cheap. and your coach has to make money to live, so she probably charges a fair price. (the barns around here charge between $250 a month to $500 a month) so there are obviously advances in being to have a horse on your own property.
the price of horses also depends on your riding level and what breed of horse you want and where you live. if you are getting a high class arabian, it will cost lots more than a grade paint. both could do well in shows, but the paint would probably be a better companion and friend to you. i like Quarter Horses (QH) because they have a nice temprament, decently priced, good lines, gentle, for advanced and novice riders, good teachers, good students, and can be ridden enlish or western. pretty cool huh? i will admit that i got a really good deal on my mare, under any other circumstances, people would of had to pay closer to 10K for her because she has the famed superhorse Sonny Dee Bar in her lines. heh, family friends are not so bad! LOL but yeah, if that answers what you were asking, there you go. if you need more details and stuff, ask away!

I guess the subject line says it all. I constantly flip-flop between Christianity, Atheism and Buddhism. I like a little of all, and I can't seem to choose one faith. I always change my mind. Is there something wrong with me? Am I flaky? It's just that a faith is an important choice, and I'm afraid to make the wrong one.
I like all three, but I know I have to pick one.

you should go with Christianity. none of the "gods" of the other religions (i.e. buddhism's god) died for you. and if you were an athiest, you would have no God. what would you do if you had a serious descision to make? who would you pray to? yourself? that wouldnt work. or what if you had a family or friend die? who would you turn to for divine help? yourself? that wouldnt work. Christianity follows Christ. Christ died for you. he died the most painful death ever to be experienced by anyone - ever. why? because he loves you. if he didnt love you, why did he get mocked, beaten by guards, whipped 39 times, wear a painful crown of thorns, be NAILED to a cross - naked, and hang there? let me tell you, its not because he wanted to see what it fealt like!! Christ loves you enough that he would do that all over again for you alone. if everyone but you died, he would still go through that again. you cant say that about buddhism, now can you? we know that we are not worthy of His love, no one is. we have all sined. the wages of sin is death. but God is giving you the free gift of eternal life through Jesus. why dont you accept it? it costs nothing, you have nothing to fear. you will spend eternity with Christ! if you have any more questions about this, please ask me! i will answer them, dont hesitate. i will even be on over the holidays. 6th grade and kissing! whoa! what do they teach in public schools anyway?! heh, i am about two years older than you and havent even held hands with a guy; dont feel pressured to do stuff. what is there to learn anyway? dont you just kinda lean in and ... KISS? i mean, i guess its "more" than what you would do when you kiss your mom goodnight (if you ever did that) or a baby sister/brother. but i dont think that you have to "learn" anything. you are probably nervous about it, and thats making you think that there is something to learn. and i think its good that you "chickened out"; you loose something special when you kiss a guy. you cant say to your husband, "i only kissed you. no one else". thats kinda extreme, but if you kiss everyone you go out with, thats a lot of kissing. (well, if you date around and have a lot of short-term boyfriends) you dont have to kiss to have a boyfriend. i know some people who have promised (to God, or their parents, or to themselves) that they would never kiss someone, until they were on the alter and had said, "I do". that may not be something that you want to do, but just an example that there is no age limit for kissing.

Whenever I'm around guys I get really shy and don't have much to say and then I get insecure and it's hard to be myself. So now all the guys at my school probably think I'm like really snobby or stuck up or something because I'm so quiet. Like there have been a few guys this year that have tried to be friends with me, but I just didn't know what to say around them, so they just kind of stopped talking to me. Help!!! (link)

dont worry, i am the same way. i have trouble trusting guys, and i am fairly quiet. i get pretty shy and insecure too. basicly, i started with one really good friend (a friend that was a girl) who i totally trusted. we worked on it, and she helped me open up to guys some. basicly you kinda have to put yourself out there and talk a little. if it is easier for you to type out what you are thinking and want to say, get a guys IM screen name or e-mail address. if all else fails, hang out with some friends who hang out with guys. it might feel weird, like you are a 5th wheel or whatever, but it might help. you will probly open up some if you feel more comferatable around a guy. yeah, its kinda hard, and its kinda weird, but it is possable. dont feel like you have to act a certain way, you know, snobby or like a comeadian. just try your hardest to be yourself. if you develop friendships with guys, serious friendships - not a "call you when i forget the math assignment" thing, someone you really talk to, than you will find it easier to open up to guys. i have a few guy friends, and it was kinda weird at first cause i have never hung out with guys before, but they are great. just dont get caught up with the wrong crowd. choose your friends wisely. be careful not to set yourself up for heartache. you dont have to be looking for a boyfriend, just a friend at first. God will send the right guy down your path when he deems fitting. :) good luck!

well, your best bet would be to ask him what he would like. if you dont want to do that, you can take some pictures of you and him and make a scrapbook, or get a nice frame and put a good pic of you and him in there. if all else fails, get him a gift card to a store of your choice. (target, wal-mart, k-mart, best buy, gamestop, and more) if hes into computers and the latest technology, go with something like office dopot or staples.

i'm 13/f and i skateboard but like no other s in my school do... besides like this 6th grader, but thats it. and i wear "punk" cloths i guess, like skateboarding shoes and element shirts and hoodies and dickies skateboarding pants, but idk if thats like a turn off for guys that skateboard cuse thats kinda how they dress... i'm not like a tom-boy, god no, but i feel kind of weird around guys that are wearing the same stuff as me, if u know what i mean. help please!! thanks so much (link)

so? you will find the right guy for you when God thinks it is right.although i dont skateboard, i am still kinda "out there" like you describe yourself. dont worry about what the other people think about you, and how you dress. thats not cool for them to judge you and say that you are tomboy or whatever because you wear "guys" clothes. i would, but my mom has gotten weird about it. i used to only shop in the guys departments at stores cause i woulnt wear what they had in the girls departments. my mom is kinda wary about that though. BUT.... anyway, i dont claim to be an expert on love lifes or relationships. my love life has but few people in it: God, my mare, and my friends. in that order. LOL ;D i dont have a boyfriend, i have never had one. but, if you have friends that care about you, dont worry. live life the way you are, if God is happy with you, than dont fret. one day your prince will come, before then, it is just wasted effort and energy. dont try to change the way you dress or act or think (unless that is a bad way of thinking, dressing or acting...) because there will be this guy one day that absouloutly loves you the way you are. skateboard and hoodies and all.

Alright yall, i believe in God and that Jesus is the son of God. But i dont like church one bit, and i dont like the bible. I think i'm a good person, but i do also sin (obviously). And i have a wonderful relationship with God. So am i going to hell because i dont like church, and because i dont believe alot of what the Christians believe? Please help me out if you can. ok, you see, you probably are going to hell buy just what you said. even the Devil himself believes that there is a God and that Jesus is the Son of God! believing that isnt what makes you go to heaven or hell. knowing that Christ died for your sins on the cross at Calvary and that God raised him from the dead on the third day - defeating death - and knowing that God loves you and forgives your sins. you said that you were a "good person" but there is no such thing as a good person. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23. every sin is the same. you could murder all the people in a bank and take all the money and its as bad as telling your mom that you brushed your teeth when you didnt. its still a sin. you dont have to like church to be a Christian. i dont particurally care for some of them (mine) but i am still a Christian and i still go. what do you not believe alot of what the Christians believe in particular? answer that and it will be easier for me to help you. please answer that and ask me another question to finnish off this question. thanks! ok, first of all, there is a problem with your question: you said that you were not "best of friends or anything". this means, YOU ARE NOT MARRIED! you will get some sort of a STD, or get pregnant, and its wrong! ok, ask him out - sure. date into college, get married, then you can do whatever you want! but not before then!

i guess, you see, i have never had a "boyfriend", if i have a friend that is a guy, thats all he is. a friend. you dont have to follow the standards of this world that says that if you are a guy and hang with girls, you have to date them. thats just weird. and stupid. dont believe that. if you have the trust of girls, as FRIENDS, then that is (in my opinion) better than dating them.

So I've been preparing fish a lot lately...but haven't ever had to thaw it. Now I've got to thaw it...and I can't remember the best way to do it. Sound silly? It is. I won't use the microwave...because I just wont. I know my mom usually thaws chicken in a tub of luke-warm water...but does that work effectively with fish? So how should I thaw this thing? Thanks. the best way is to let it thaw in the fridge overnight, but if you have less time, put it in a sink (or pan) of warm water. hot water and using the microwave will ruin it.

does anyone no how the hair curlers work ..like the ones that you get at like cvs. or rite aid. like tha one you put in ur hair because whenever i try to put them in they end up falling and it doesnt even really curll... so please help me andtell me how to put the curlers in =) alright thanks a bunch! most curlers have directions on the back. read there first. then you can ask jeeves or google. basicly you plug the thing in, let it get hot; wrap your hair around the curler, you have to let it stay there for a while if your hair is like my sisters : straight and thin. when the curlers are getting cold, take them out. some are made so that you wrap your hair around them after you get out of the shower and you sleep in them; that way your hair dries in curls.
be thankful you have straight hair.

Whenever it gets cold out and my hands are exposed and then I come back into warmth, two of my fingers go white and feel numb. I can't figure out why it does that. My hands don't go white it's just my fingers. Can anyone help? (link)

it could be Multiple Sclerosis; you know what that is, right? of course, it could be just the cold, or that you are just odd. if this has been happening for a while, and gloves dont help, and keeps happening, tell a parent and see a doc. is the numbness so bad that you cant function? (like write your name) or is it just enough that you are uncomfertable? tell a parent, or someone that has a degree in med. if it keeps happening, see a doctor.

be a Christian. a cult will not help you at all; but Jesus will! you dont have to do anything but believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord. it costs nothing, no money, nothing but a few moments of your time. a cult will say, "dont get married, dont eat this food, dont dance, dont drive...." but being a Christian, all you have to do is believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord. of course God wants you to follow his rules; but he doesnt say "dont eat this food! dont get married! dont dance!" because he gave us animals (cows, pigs, sheep, ducks etc) to eat. he doesnt want us to not kill them. he gave us man and woman because it is not good for man - or woman - to be alone; he wishes for us to marry. he doesnt want us to dance inappropriatly, but thats our choice - a free will. dancing's not bad, i dance. God did all the work for you, all you have to do is say, "Yes! I believe that Christ died on the cross for my sins, and I believe that God raised him from the dead on the third day so that I could have eternal life in heaven when I die! Please save me, Jesus." its that simple. all he wants is sincerity and love; God loves you. he loves you so much that he gave his one and only son to die on the cross for you - if you were the only person alive he would have still died! Christ suffered more than any person on earth will EVER suffer. and Christ didnt do anything wrong! he is the only perfect being (besides God, Jesus's father) all you have to do is believe!

Ok,
I like this guy and he knows I like him. We have never talked before, it's just kind of a crush. Since he knows I like him, its really weird because I always see him looking at me. I thought it was in my imagination so I asked my friends to check if he was indeed looking at me. They said he was and it wasn't my imagination. Sometimes he walks by me for no reason, and my friends and I have even caught him checking me out a few times. Why won't he come up to me and talk to me? Is he afraid? I'm not scary, lol. And I thought about it and...why would he stare at me, check me out, and walk by me for no reason if he DIDN'T like me? He has to like me just a little....or maybe he thinks I'm a freak. :-( ....I sure hope not. HELP! What should I do? I really want him to talk to me, and I don't have the guts to do it myself!

maybe he is trying to decide if he likes you back. he probly dont think that you are a freak or weird, hes just trying to get his nerves and boundries and hormones in place. love is a delicate thing, and he probly just dont know what to think. maybe you can invite him to sit with you and some friends at lunch; write him a short note and drop it in his locker, or get his e-mail address (friends ask him for you, you ask him, your friends ask his friends, you ask his friends) and send him a short little e-mail thats like, "hey, this is *your name*. whats up?"
you know, not much, just a little. or get his AIM screen name (if you have AIM) and talk to him that way. you will probly have to make the first move to talk to him if you want to get to know him better. you kinda sound a little like me; i get nervous and shy around guys too lol. hope it helps!

Hey! Ok, I'm confused. See, I'm 14 & I wanna do something REALLY bad! Like see, here's the thing though.. I'm not really sure how to kiss a guy though.. I mean.. when I got my 1st kiss, it wasnt at all wat I wanted it 2 be. It was kinda one of those "in the moment" type deals. I kno I'm just 14 but is that 2 young? nah, there is no age limit. but dont have sex yet. you are 14 (as you said) and that is too young. you need to save that for when you are married, that is a gift that you give to your husband when you marry him. i know people who are 18 and havent kissed, and certanilly havent done more than that. i dont guess there is a "wrong" way to kiss, but i havent experienced mine yet, so i dont know. wait for the perfect guy, dont go with just any old loser; i am waiting, so can you. i havent even held hands with a guy, but that doesnt bother me, i am waiting. you can hang out with guys - i do. just dont push it. if they like you, they will ask you out. sleeping with boyfriends is a bad idea, because even if you take precautions, there is a chance of you getting pregnant. and then you are in a mess. just wait for God to bring the right guy, and wait until you are married.

just do your best and remember that what they think doesnt matter in the long run; if you were to watch them play a certain sport (bball, vball, baseball etc) and they were to miss, would you laugh? just tell yourself that the color of the ribbon (or size of the trophy) doesnt matter, as long as you did your best and had fun. its the acomplishing something as a team factor that counts! not if you win or not...
yeah, its fun to win, but thats not what really matters. just ignore them if they laugh at you. they are probly jealous.

okay so my mom smokes and i hate it.. like all my clothes smell like smoke b/c our house always smells like it and my teachers look at me evilly b/c i smell like smoke but i cant do anything about it do you know any way to either get my mom to stop smoking or to like at least have my house not smell like it all the time?! talk gently to your mother about the way that you feel about her smoking, what goes on at school and stuff. you might want to get some facts about what smoking does to you, and that (this is true) second hand smoke (the stuff that your teachers smell on you and on your clothes) can KILL just as quickly as smoking yourself. be gentle about it though. research about the best methods of stopping smoking, and how much it costs. you might try and convince your mom to see a doctor and he/she can provide some perscription meds to help your mom stop smoking. in the meantime, go to wal - mart, k-mart, target, walgreens, piggly wiggly, rite aid, CVS and more to get some air freshners and buy some sweet smelling purfume that will help drown out the smell. if at all possible, buy some scented fabric softener sheets and use them on your laundry. if you can, wash your clothes sepretly - that way the smell will be more contained. hope your mom gets better! hope i helped!
