Go ahead and give him a chance unless it's his personality that's lacking. If he's mean to you or if his personality (don't confuse it with his interests!) is strange, lacking, or weird, though I don't think it's that way because you said he's nice! You want to go out with someone because
1. They like you back (check)
2. You like him back (check)
It's going to work out and if he doesn't ask you, you should probably ask him.

www.beauty.about.com- they show you a lot of pictures that you could take to a stylist if you like them
Also, if you check out any of the teen sites they will have a lot of hairstyles for you to try, and if you search it you will get a lot of contemporary styles.

I decided to lose a few inches for Summer. I have given up soda for about 2 weeks, and I feel great. But i look fatter then ever now!! My thighs look like they've gotten an inch bigger and same with my stomach! Whuts going on? (link)

Best thing to do- Ask your very good friends if it looks like you've lost weight or gained it, honestly. Sometimes when you are eager to lose weight, you see your body differently than other people see it, which can lead to anorexia if persued too far. I'm not saying your anorexic, but get your friend's opinion to see if you have lost weight or not.
If you haven't the best thing to do is to stay off soda (which is a great thing to do!) eat only fat free yogurt and skim milk, eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, and ditch McDonalds for a Jamba Juice if you live near one (I practically live in that shop!) Otherwise just let go of fast food and focus on salads, whole-wheat sandwiches, and low fat foods in general, and you will be a new person!

Me and my friend want to give my REALLY nerdy other friend a makeover at my house. She's the sensitive type, so how do I approach it? She has a unibrow, HIDEOUS nails, she wears pokemon shirts and granny jeans, her hair is frizzy, heavy, and waist length, and she desperately needs makeup. She desperately needs a new look, so how do my best friend and i approach her and give it to her? What things do I need to change to make her not-so-nerdy (nothing like cutting her hair)? Throw a party for you three and on the invitation write down that it's a makeover party. Get a ride to the mall and first start on the hair salon. This is really the place to do everything to make sure that you don't make a mistake. It's about $5 for an eyebrow wax, and $10 for a quickie hair style that won't cut her hair down, but will reduce the frizz. If you really want to go all-out, go ahead and take her to Hollister, American Eagle Outfitters, Aeropostale, etc. but I suggest that to make her look presentable just take her to Target. The clothes are basic and neat with clean lines and good colors, and just buy her a few nice things that will be really easy to accessorize and match, like a black knee length skirt, a white babydoll top (if you like that look) a couple of pastel short-sleeved polos, and a bunch of shorts in neutral colors (black, khaki, navy blue) and she will be a new person!

my friend said i was kinda a loser and i follow her and her friend. When i never see them until lunch!im hurt,really bad by this.Ok this is were it gets complicated,we'll call my friend [[that is a girl]] K,the other girl B,and the boy we'll call him R. Well,R is my ex and he said that my friend [B] said i was a loser and follows her other friend. K is like "aww i feel so bad" but the thing is,when i check the time on aim K has the same time as R,ex [[R & K's online time is the same each time]] so K probably is pretending to be R,and make up a lie because she dosent want me to be friends with B.But i only see B and B's friend at lunch,and we laugh and have good times. So i dont no who to believe!! And if B really did say that,how can i make it so i dont follow people?and im just a mess over this!!!

If it's the same each time, then I can almost guarantee that K is pretending to be R. Sometimes I think that K feels jealous that you are friends with B also, and she wants B all to herself. Of course, she's being dishonest and underhanded to pretend to be your ex to get you to stop being friends with B. Trust me: If B thinks you follow her, she'd tell you. If B was really your friend, and if you consider K a friend, then they both would never tell you that you follow them unless they don't like you. If they tell you that, then you need to find some kind, nice friends who really care about you.

me and my friend found a baby blackbird yesterday whilst mowing the lawn.Its hurt its wing. we kept it in a cage over night and put her in a rabbit run this morning.Its mum keeps on coming and feeding him and we don't no what to do. should we lets him go or should we keep him for a couple more nights. by the way next door have five cats!

Let its mum come feed it in the rabbit run. It will be the best thing for the baby bird, because it will prevent the mother from rejecting the baby. Keep the baby blackbird in the run until its wing is fully healed. If you let it go too soon, the cats will definitely get it. Letting it go later after it's ready is better than letting it go before it's ready.

Ok, so lets call the girl Alicia....
Alicia was getting on my nerves alot. I felt like she thought she was better than be and was ignoring me so I decided to take action. I really regret this now, but I decided to take action. I wrote a mean e*mail to her saying how she was ignoring me and how she didnt match sometimes. There were no curse words and no name-calling, but she got really mad at me. She printed out the email and showed to atleast 10 of my friends. Some people turned against me calling me mean, which was true! I said sorry by leaving e*mails and messages and I even made this card by cutting out letters and pictures from magazines for her but from gossip, i heard she doesnt want to be my friend at all. I miss her alot, and I try my best to be nice and all, but I really wish I didnt send they e*mail. What should I do to try to be her friend again but not seem too clingy and obsessed? Please help.

The way to get Alicia back is to apologize to her and tell her exactly what you said in this question-"I miss you a lot, and I try my best to be nice and all, but I really wish I didnt send they e*mail. Will you please forgive me?" This is straight from the heart and sincere, and if she doesn't accept that then you can't do anything about it. I'm sure that your other friends will still be there and they will stand up for you no matter what.

Aha, I am queen of the topic of persuasion...It's how I got my pets.
Well, the best thing to do is to make an organized presentation about why you want this cat. Yes you heard me right, a presentation. Use a PowerPoint and graphs, and dress up. Collect information that proves to your parents that you did your work. As I like to say- Collect information to build a brick wall. The more information, the stronger and taller the wall is. The taller and stronger the wall is, the harder it is for your parents to knock it down!

i'm getting a new puppy this year. she is going to be a schnoodle (miniature schnauzer + toy poodle) and i am trying to think of names for her. i'm pretty sure that it will be Chloe, Elle, or Ella, i'm just not sure which to choose...help! also if u have any suggestions for other names tell me! If you really can't pick between them no matter how much you try then go with Ella. Ella ends with a soft "a" sound, and dogs respond well to it. Chloe is good too, but unless you adore the name Elle don't pick it- It's one syllable and your dog can confuse it with some sort of command. (I'm not sure which one, but dog's brains work differently:-) )

I’m a high school senior, and I’m playing a principle character (but not a lead or supporting character) in this year’s school musical. For most of my scenes, I have a microphone. There are only a few microphones so the principles have to share. All through rehearsal, I had enough time to swap microphones with my designated partner. However, on opening night, I didn’t, and I couldn’t get my microphone on in time. It fell out of my dress while I was onstage. I pretended like it wasn’t even there, and this angered my director.
What should I have done? Is it better to break curtain, or to break character? And what should I do if it happens in subsequent performances?

It's never good to break character, because it shows the audience you guys aren't as good. It might anger your director, but the best of actors do not use microphones. If you don't have time to get microphone on, and the next line is critical, just go on and belt it out, and the audience will hear you. As soon as you get offstage, get your microphone back on. If your line isn't critical, just take some time to get the microphone back on. When I was in Give my Regards to Broadway, and I had a principle but not lead part, one of the characters was taking his own sweet time to get onstage and he didn't have a legal reason, it's just that he forgot he had to get on. My fellow characters and I ad-libbed all the lines until he got onstage, and we actually got a lot of laughs for the new lines that we added.
Let the people who are onstage before you get onstage know that you need to take a bit of time to get the microphone on, and ask them to add a couple of lines to give you some time. That way you don't need to worry about the director's anger.

Baby powder will definitely work- it has worked well for a lot of the people that I know. Anything drying will work for a deoderant. Another tip is to use your own brand of deoderant, and then put a layer of baby powder over it. That way you have double the protection.

When I have a good day at school, and suddenly I hear from one of my friends that I rumor is being spread about me, it totally ruins my day, even though I really don't want to care, I sort of do. The best thing to do is go ask around and go straight to the person who started the rumor and tell them to stop spreading it. Hearing the person who started it apologize always helps me deal with the other people who are still spreading it. Otherwise, remind yourself that you are a great person, and your friends care about you and stand up for you, and rumors don't matter because no one listens anyway.

My mom is bananas.
She doesn't listen to me. Ever. Like, for example, today, I asked her to pick me up a block away from school. She was standing RIGHT out front, so I told her how appalled I was at her behavior and she cancelled my manicure. Her excuse was 'You have a friend'. Yeah, a friend that I carpool with every day.

Your mom sounds a little bit forgetful. Okay, a lot forgetful. If I were you, I'd take Post-Its or a card tucked into her work lunch to remind her where to pick you up. Even if my parents are extremely late and I get mad, they always tell me that I'm being silly and that I need to be more mature. Your mom probably feels embarrassed that she messed up where to pick you up, so she was trying to find an excuse to make it all better, which of course it didn't. Use a lot of computer reminders and things like that, and your summer will be a great one!

well ya see i want to get black streaks in my hair... idk how i should do it tho... my parents dont want me to say they wouldnt take me to get it done... so im gona do it without asking them...
my hair comes a TINY bit bellow my shoulders in the front...its layerd like crazy...and it gets longer in the back...and its naturally wavy and really thick... oh yea and i also have bangs down a tiny bit pasmy eyes... and its a bunch of different colors ( naturally)... mostly dirtly blonde, light brown... how should i get it done? should i go to a salon anyways? if i dont... what product should i use? also... if i do it myslef... how? also if i go to a salon... how much is it?

It might be a better idea to go to a salon, but if your parents are disagreeing and telling you not to go with it, I would try a temporary color first, like Loreal Color Pulse in Black and see how you like the look. For Color Pulse, it comes in a foam, so take a little bit on each finger and just run your fingers randomly through your hair and wait. You will have temporary black streaks. If you want to go permanent, definitely go to a salon. If you try to do it yourself, there may be an accident causing your hair to become totally black, or have the lowlights be unevenly spaced or choppy looking.

this might sound a little dumb, but i need to know. see, my family's Catholic, but i haven't had my first comunion or anything, and i almost never go to church. i have NEVER read the Bible. i don't know all those stories my friends talk about adam and eve or anything. so for example, when i forget that i'm not suppoed to eat meat at that time of year or something, my friends ask me "aren't you Catholic? you're not supposed to be eating meat." so i just say i don't really have a religion. is that ok? or is that bad? i really do believe in God and have faith in him, but technically i can't say i'm catholic if i know nothing about this religion. i have no idea what it's about. also, i disagree on certain things i've HEARD the religion believes. am i right or what? just tell me what you think about this situation...i give 5's if i like your answer...if it's not dumb. I think that your situation is perfectly okay. The way I see it, God doesn't care if you perform all these special rituals for him, because he is all-forgiving. As long as you believe, it's okay. Also, since your family isn't devout Catholic, it's not a big deal if you don't participate in things like church and communion. If you want to know things about the religion, ask your parents and they will probably be delighted that you take interest in your religion. Otherwise, it's okay to say you have no religion- God exists in all religions.

My two friends are in an argument over a dress. I know it's stupid, but it just needs to end.
My friend went to the mall on Friday night and got a dress. Then on Sunday, my other friend went and got the same exact dress, only she didn't know the first one had already gotten it. We feel that whoever got the dress first should have it. That's the way our grup of friends has always agreed on these things. The friend who got the dress second went back to the mall and returned it- but got the same dress in a different color. Now they're arguing over it, and who should rightfully have it. I believe the two of them should either suck it up and deal with it, or both just get a new dress and not even worry about this anymore. Any input? (link)

You're absolutely right. Go tell both of them that they're being silly, and the dress looks horrendous anyways. (Even if the dress is stunnningly pretty, they'd feel better if you told them it was a stupid looking dress- just don't tell them they look stupid in it!) Go help both of them shop together so that they can pick out a nice new dress for both of them- without having another mishap.

The best thing to do is just pull him aside at the end of your class or at the end of school and say, "Hey, would you like to come to the dance with me?" It's simple, but it's the best thing you can say without sounding desperate or lovesick for him. This makes the asking a lot friendlier. If you want him to ask you, the best thing to do is be extra nice and friendly with him, and flirt with him a little bit too. It won't guarantee that he will ask you to the dance, but it will definitely improve your chances.

Great musical songs- From South Pacific "I'm Gonna Wash that Man Right Outta my Hair" (which technically isn't a duet song officially but my friend and I split the lines and made it a great duet), from the Cinderella movie with Brandy "Impossible", or if you're looking for more perky songs there's Annie Get your Gun's "Anything you can do I can do better". Also one of my personal favorites is "The Phantom of the Opera" with Cristine and the Phantom- I know you are both girls, but if one of you is alto and the other soprano, let the alto be the Phantom and the soprano Christine. If you do a search on the Internet for "duet songs from musicals" you will get a lot more choices.
