I've always had this view on cheating. I never understood why people would cheat. I always thought that if you wanted to be or do things with someone else then why not break up with whoever you're with? You obviously didn't care about them if you wanted to cheat on them.

I still think of it that way but I recently was in an incident were I made out with another guy. I completely went against in what I believe in. I knew it was wrong while I was doing it but I couldn't help myself. And at the time my boyfriend and I were not speaking. I know those are not excuses and I have no idea what to do know. I can't even talk to my boyfriend. He was supposed to come over today but I told him not to because I have a load of homework.

How do I handle this? 17/f

Well you obviously feel guilty, and not sugaring the pill, you probably should. You set yourself high moral standards and failed to live up to them. But, fair enough, you recognised what you did wrong and feel bad about it. What's important know is that you don't back away from it. The worst thing would be to lower your own standards and make like it doesn't matter.

So you made a mistake- big deal, it happens, but you have to do face up to it. Are you gonna feel guilty till you tell your boyfriend? You might just have to bite the bullet and come clean. Like I said, everyone makes mistakes, so at least you can learn from this one (and in the long run kissing isn't the end of the world. It's not like you slept with the guy).

On august 13th I got an industrial on my right ear and i didnt and cant soak it in sea salt solution for the recommended 5 minutes a day because i didnt/dont have time, so i am developing keloids. i have a raised pink one right on the top 1st hole, and im getting on on the other side(bottom) of the 1st hole. Now on the second hole, right in the middle of the two is a lump. its sort of coming out of the bottom part of the second hole (if you really know pericings, youll know what im talking about). Now i went back to the place i got it done and they told me to soak it 4-6 times a day, and i dont have time for that. Now i was reading something about this, and someone said something about crushing up aspirin and mixing it with water, and putting it on the keloids? If anyone knows anything that is like that, please tell me what is it. I need something that will make them go away(the keloids), and isnt time consuming, because i dont really have time for much things anymore =\. thank you guys soo much i really hate these.

Well I recommend lavender oil for helping the piercings heal faster, but if you have developed keloids on the injury site, they might not just go away. Like Mikolee said, you probably need to visit your doctor. He'll probably give you a corticosteroid injection. And surely you can spare five minutes a day? Don't you ever watch T.V or sit still for a while?

I love Bright Eyes and Elliot Smith, but one can only listen to the same CDs so many times. Anyone have any suggestions of bands that sound like either Briht Eyes or Elliot Smith?

Man, there are so many artist out there who just want to be Elliot Smith. Damien Rice is a great Irish artist who is reallt famous in England,um maybe Colin Hay and Rhett Millar if you like stuff a little more upbeat. Leonard Cohen is awesome, as are Tim and Jeff Buckley. Jeff Buckley isn't QUITE like the two you described, but give him a try if you like Elliot Smith. His album 'Grace' is one of the best ever made in my opinion. Seriously its sweeeeet.

so i have a mp3 and i can charge it but will the battery someday die and i have to buy a new one even though i charge my mp3?

I'm guessing yes. Most batteries used in MP3 players and phones etc. will eventually cease to hold their charge. I'm guessing your product contains a lithium battery which should be good for at least a few years, but eventually it will run out faster and faster. However, many companies will replace the battery in your player if this happens. Also, try looking on the internet for tips on how to maximise the life of your battery (e.g. continually charging it or letting it run out completely once in a while). Peace out.

Hi. In my history class we're working around propaganda, and so we had to pick an issue in the world right now and make an ad about it. I picked the Iraq war. Naturally, an ad either paints half-truths or goes in for emotions, but I cant think of WHAT to advertise for, really...soldiers? money for the war? What exactly? I want it to be unique and not boring and stuff. Any ideas, anyone? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Weeeeelll, a lot of propoganda is about changing or maintaining public opinion (for examples see the Nazi and Soviet propoganda of WW2). Your advertisment doesn't necessarily therefore have to advertise a physical 'thing', it could be an attempt to change public opinion. I read comic books and a lot of them contain adverts at the moment which refer to the dirty-dealings of big business e.g. tabacco companies. The adverts are really just an attempt to change opinions. Perhaps you could do one on the war in Iraq either putting it in a positive light or a negative one, purely to change the opinion of the populace.

The links below provide examples of what I mean, adverts which attempt to inspire or disgust or whatever, instead of pushing an actual product. Just a thought, peace out.

I'm in the mood to read some good books. Does anybody have any recommendations (preferably from young adult or if not from there than not too boring and old lady like). Thanks!

Riiiiight, I've recommended this one on this very column, but it rocks faces so I'll do it again: 'Across the Nightingale Floor' by Lian Hearn. Its the first in a trilogy called 'Tales of the Otori' which are all awesome. Enjoy.

y is it that all you gurls say you want a nice sweet guys when u wind up going out with the dark nasty selfish ones.

and dont say its bs because u know exactly what i am sayin

and a serious question demands a serious answer because my sanity is @ stake

Hmmm.. i said that protossc gave a kick-ass answer, and that you should take his advice. You gave me a 1, which i wont bitch about but maybe you didn't understand me. I think protossc is totally on the money, but i didn't just want to repeat what he said. I DO think it was a good answer and by saying so I hope to give credibility to his argument, rather than just wasting time.

P.S. I hope you get laid soon, it may take your edge off. And 'gurls' is spelt 'girls'. I understand abbreviations, but they both have the same number of letters!

Does anyone know how I can make money online. I'm a 13 year old and need money verly badly! Is there a certain program I can get involved with that I earn money wiht either, by typing up forms, making links, anything! Please help me, thank-you!

Hey someone else said ebay and thats sounds spot on, so here's a suggestion for stuff to sell- have you got any school textbooks that you don't use anymore? Or English texts that you've fininshed with (e.g. Shakespeare)? My friend Helen carefully annotates all her books, and then when she's done with them she sells them on ebay to other students who need help with the same subject/book. Just a thought.

okay i like this guy right? well thanks to my idiotic and tactless ex-boyfriend (my crush and him are best friends) he knows but the thing is he acts the same.what does that mean.im really confused.help?

Well how is he supposed to act? OK, he knows you like him, but does he have a clue what he's supposed to do next? I'm guessing he's unsure how he's supposed to act around you now, regardless of whether he likes you back or not, and is trying to keep the relationship the same until he figures out what he's s'posed to do next. We're simple creatures, y'know.

can women die from having sex in water?

Wait, this is the one where water enters the vagina during sex and then somehow gets into the blood or into the brain or something, isn't it. Urban myth, methinks.

i need the day after pill but everyone keeps telling me different stuff about where to ge it cos i need to get it for free i have no money. my friends said that the clinic people go to is closed some days but i dont know what days and i dont wana get tere and realise its shut. where else can i get it? will it be free?

Wweeeeelll.... the problem is, I don't actually know where you live, so I can't give specific advice as per the clinic you are talking about. Therefore all I can say is what I know to be true (in England)- the pill is free if you are under the age of consent. If you are over the legal age, it'll cost you about £30 (about $45). Secondly, you MUST take the morning after pill within 72 hours of from the actual act of coitus for it to be effective. If more time than that has past, you need to speak to your general practitioner. What I also know is that, even if the clininc IS shut, there will be SOMEWHERE you can get the pill- in England when free clinics are shut, many supermarket pharmacies take over the role. Failing that, your GP should always be able to proscribe it, so if time is running out, my advice is to go see them, pronto!!! Be safe.

Are people on here as stupid as they appear, or is all just an act?

Which people? People who ask questions, or people who answer them? Frankly I think that yes, they may possibly all be stupid. I mean, if you want advice- ask someone qualified or who knows you well, not a random stranger off the internet.
But then I think people in general are stupid- it's not just confined to advicenators.

I did an experiment, and the result was that grapefruit juice caused steel wool to rust the fastest. Can anybody tell me why? I've been looking so hard, but i can't find anything. Any help, and i'll give yu a 5

Hmmm... my science knowledge is fading fast so you can't take this as fact. I know rust is caused by oxidation but i THINK that the pH level of a substance might affect rust levels. Also, salt water causes rust much faster than regular water- is it possible that the grapefruit contained higher salt levels than the other things you tried? Sorry if this is all rubbish- like I said, my science lessons finished long ago.

Why is it that some peoples bodies reject their piercings shortly after they are done?

There are many reasons for a body to reject a piercing, so I'll list as many as I can think of.

Firstly many people have metal allergies, especially to ones like nickel. This not only rules out many solid metals, but also all the jewellery that is made of cheap alloys. Most jewellers now use titanium or specifically inert metals. Secondly, many people's jewellery is too small, narrow or poorly contoured to their body. Anything that constricts or irritates the skin is likely to make the piercing sore. Also, it helps if the part pierced isn't under extreme tension or any changes in shape. This is why earlobe piercings usually take well but navel ones have a low success rate- your belly button is always moving whenever you sit down etc.
Being generally rundown can also make your body reject a piercing- having the flu or something similar can lead to a bad reaction.
Finally, removing the piercing or moving it too much before it is well established can mess up the scar tissue, making rejection likely.

Remember- the body is designed to reject foreign objects, so getting a piercing to 'take' can be hard work. The best way is simply not to irritate the damn thing. And my girlfriend recommends lavender oil to make it heal more smoothly. Be safe.

Hi..i performed oral sex to a guy on..friday night but he didn't cum..we didn't use a condom..and today (monday)..i feel like i am sort of about to get a sore throat but i'm not sure..it could just be in my head because i've b een thinking about it. Could this be something i should get checked out, or should i not worry or w/e..and has anyone ever felt like i have after oral sex..?

Oi, I start to think I should have a cut'n'paste answer for this question.
Firstly yes, some STD's can be trasmitted orally (which I assume is what you're worried about) including gonorrhea. Did I spell that right? Meh. Anyway your doctor can proscribe antibiotics fairly easily, however if its only been a few days I wouldn't panic yet. It's far more likely that performing motions and applying pressures that your mouth/throat isn't used to has made it a little sore. You aren't the first to have this problem (I've seen this same question here more than once)and I'm sure you have little to worry about. If you don't feel better in a few days, go see your doctor- simple as that.

Just curious, What would happen to my body if I stayed awake for 3-4 days, only taking 45 minute naps 2 times each of those 3 days?

Firstly, if you go too long without any sleep whatsoever, you die. Simple as that. In the circumstances you've described, if you manage to stick to it, I'd probably predict:

Obviously extreme exhaustion about two days in.
Then sudden adrenaline surge as your body attempts to counter all the chemical imbalances. This will probably be followed by a sense of dislocation, symptoms including depression, paranoia, possible nauseua and inability to focus on tasks and objects. By the end of the last day its very possible you could start to hallucinate, especially if you stay in confined circumastances. You may also do things are say things that fade from your memory entirely. In terms of your body, I'm not so sure but your immune system would definately be severly weakened, and after sleep deprivation this severe it will take a long time to get back to regular sleep patterns again. I've had trouble with insomnia in the past, so let me know how this turns out. It sounds like an interesting experiment, whereas I was normally too knackered to care. Peace out.

What is Epilepsy? Causes? Symptoms? Signs? And what is it's relation with demonic possession. I heard some people say a person is demon possessed or it could be explained that they have epilepsy because the symptoms are the same?...

The website recommended by sassycat is v. good but I think I have some information that may be related to your question. A lot of epileptics have their symptoms 'triggered' by various events- a lot of people react badly to bright or strobe lighting. This could lead to to seizures occuring in the same place or time, hinting at demonic possession. Some aspects of epilepsy can also be linked with mood altering drugs (although I have no proof of this, I'm SURE my brother's epilepsy was brought on or exacerbated by use of cannabis). So in some cases a person's seizures could be parrallel to a change in their personality, which I suppose could also be construed as a sign of unholy inhabitance. Be safe.
