Long story short, I'm from Los Angeles, went to an amazing school, left the US and moved to the Middle East. I've been backpacking around Europe and the Middle East on and off since August 2013. Would you like to converse? Here's my Forum
Quite frankly, I'm sarcastic way more than I should be. Read a few of my answers, and you'll see that I am not totally mean to anyone.
Type correctly or go home. Yes, that is an ultimatum.
advice
there are these two cliches and i dont know which one i should be in. the one i want to be in is the preps and stuff;but i hang out with the other because i dont know how to fit in. should i move with the one i want to be in and see what happes? what if the other gets mad and stuff? help, i hate cliches
A cliche is a phrase. A clique is a bratty group of people.
Be a floater. That's what I do. Be friends with everybody!
i'm reviewing for a BIG test i have in math class tomorrow and i can't for the life of me figure out how to do these two problems.
square root of 12. i know the answer is "2 root 3" but i don't remember how you get that.
and when you are using the quadratic formula. the "B squared + or - the square root of B squared + 4 x A x C. all over 2a." if you don't know the quadratic formula then don't answer this. but i substituted the numbers into the formula correctly but i got a negative under the square root and i don't remeber how to simplify it now.
thanks so much!! the test is tomorrow 8[
Well, under the radical you make the one number two numbers, and hopefully one is a perfect square. For 12, it would be 4 x 3. You can then take out the 4 and by doing that you square root it. That gives you 2 root 3.
The quadratic formula is , -B + or - the square root of b squared minus 4 AC all over 2A (as sung to pop goes the weasel).
If you have a negative under the radical sign, just do it as you normall would, and stick a lowercase i after it. i is the square root of negative one, and it is imaginary.
I need some good ideas for an 8th grade science fair, I've spent almost three hours online searching and I've not found one single thing that interests me! Do you guys have any good ideas, or projects you might have done? Thanks so much! 14- Female.
I built a generator in like 3rd grade with my dad.
What does it mean when someone answers a question and then puts EDIT- and writes something different?
EDIT: goes here.
If someone answers your qestion, but they left something out, then they will edit .
im 14..15 in march. and i need money like alot (i broke something) and like i need it within a years time and its a $600 fine with a $300 replacement fee. (i ran over a firehidrant while joy riding in my older bros f650) and my parents said that i need to come up with it myself. sooo any ideas?
Get a...job. There are many places that hire at this age. For example, bussing at restaraunts and also fast food will hire at this age.
you know when people say that when you first have sex, you usually pop your cherry? well if i were to have sex and the guy did pop my cherry, does that mean i bleed more when i get my period? becuase they say your hymen or cherry is like a tissure that blocks the vagina, so when i do have sex for the first time and it pops, doesnt that mean ill bleed more on my period? if anyone knows what i mean? and thanks
No, it doesn't really have any connection to your period.
My parents decided to let me get a 70 dollar l.l. bean rolling backpack, because I have so much books that I my back hurts if I get a regular backpack. But before I buy it, I was wondering, is a rolling backpack ok for an 8th grader, or is it like out of style and babyish? Like do alot of people have rolling backpacks? Thanks!
Oh, my. If someone at my school had a rolling backpack, I would shun them. Not only are they out of style, but they make people trip in the hallways. Carrying books is a better bet. Have a good year.
my dad's offering to buy me a used car. what are some cute cars that aren't too awfully expensive?
A mini cooper is supercute for someone your age.
I have a decent-sized range from the D below Middle C to the D three octaves higher. But how can I tell if I'm an alto or soprano? My registers sound like two different people. My chest voice is hard, rough and very powerful. A bit like Patti LuPone, if you know who that is. And my head voice is clear and bright, like a soprano. I can technically sing both alto and soprano. What am I?!
Lucky.
Haha, you could sing either, technically. I'd go with a mezzo-soprano, just because they tend to have a pretty wide range.
People tell me I have a reasonabley good voice but I want to make it really good. What exercises can I do to make it stronger cos at the moment I hit a high note and my voice sort of totally disappears. It's real weird!
If your voice goes out on the high notes, you are not singing correctly.
You should always have good posture. Attain this by bending over to touch your toes and rolling yourself up and your shoulders back.
Practice sightreading. If you don't know what that is, it's reading music that you've never seen before and singing it. It helps to make you sing on pitch.
Also, I suggest learning a little about music theory so that you always know what is going on in the peice. Is there a crescendo? Mezzo di voce? A ritardando at the end? What is the tempo? If you can't answer these questions, a brush-up on music theory is in order.
Here is a great website for music theory: http://cctr.umkc.edu/~bauera/Gloss.html .
Get a straw. Sit up straight, and have your feet on the floor-one slightly in front of the other. Try to do this in front of a mirror. Place the sraw in your mouth, and breathe in through the straw. Your back should widen as you breathe in, but your chest should not rise very much at all.
Say "sqeelo" (skweeloh) with an italian accent on one note and then move up and up until you hit the top of your range.
Sing, " Bumble bee-ee bumble bee-ee bumble bee-ee bumble-bee." Play this on the piano, starting on middle C, and play CE DF EG FA GB AC BD C. Play the notes similar to that pattern coming back down the scale.
Go to the higher part of your range and sing, " Ee-ooh-ee-ooh-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee," legato, full voice.

I highly recommend the book Singing for Dummies available at Borders and at Barnes and Noble. It comes with a CD that is really great with warm-ups, which are always good to practice.
I hope I helped, and if you have more specific questions, plese feel free to ask!

I'm singing Defying Gravity and I'd love some comments/advice on how I did because I'm trying out for a musical soon and whether or not it's that song I need to know what to work on or what my strengths are.
It was pitchy. You fell flat a lot during the chorus, and after the second chorus, it was just going downhill. I would not sing this song for an audition, not because of you, just because of the song. I think something a little lower would flatter your voice more, like I'm Not That Girl. You have good tone appropriate for Wicked, though. See my column for more singing tips and tricks!
Hey everyone..I was just wondering if anyone knows of some good songs to practice the various model walks to...I already have the following:
1. Beyonce- Crazy In Love
2. Kelly Osborne- One Word
3. Beyonce- Deja Vu
4. Kool And The Gang- Jungle Boogie
5. TaTu- All The Things She Said
6. TaTu- Not Gonna Get Us
As some of you may know.."Techno" songs are probably the best to practice to. But I cannot think of any more. So if yall know of any songs with a good steady *not too fast* beat please let me know! Thank You!!!!

Anything from Napoleon Dynamite
What are some good breathing excercises I could do on the alto sax or flute? I'm preparing solos and both require to play several chromatic like measures all of which are slured. I run out of breath too quickly. I know its impossible to slur 3 and a half lines, but I can't get past more than 3 measures. Thanks, will rate.
Breathe in until you can't anymore, and then take another little breath of air in. But do it like this: Get a straw. Sit up straight, and have your feet on the floor-one slightly in front of the other. Try to do this in front of a mirror. Place the sraw in your mouth, and breathe in through the straw. Your back should widen as you breathe in, but your chest should not rise very much at all.
Then exhale on ssssss (like a snake). Repeat and exhale as you pant like a puppy. Halfway between your sternum and belly button is your epigastrium, and it should bounce as you do this.
Good luck, I know how hard flute is to play!
How can I inprove my vioce? for singing. Im not sure if I sing good. Im very self concience about my vioce, but I want to be a singger. I love to sing. No body has heard me sing like with all my effort. How can i improve it?
Browse through songs that sound like your voice. It may take years, but you'll nkow once you've found the right song.

Do you guys know any songs that a girl can sing thats under 3 minutes. im an alto and a second so i cant really sing high. thanks.
Showtunes.
And yes, you can sing high. You jsut aren't breathing correctly. You should always have good posture. Attain this by bending over to touch your toes and rolling yourself up and your shoulders back.

i recently started taking voice lessons and my teacher said my voice sounds "cold" and is "too breathy" and i can't seem to fix it. i don't think i really understand and i need help figuring out how to acheive this. can anyone help me? thanks!
This means that your voice is not supported by your diaphragm. Try these exercises to improve drastically. It helps if you have a piano or a piano player. Also, ther are free online pitchpipes and pianos that you could use as well.

what are the best ways to learn the words to a song? and good tips??
Look up the lyrics, listen to the song, and just read the lyrics.
Once you get that down, write them out once. See where you mess up. That's whaere you need to focus your efforts.
First of all, do NOT answer this question if you don't know about singing!
An opera coach told me that I have a really incredible voice and that I could have a really, really big voice if I stopped singing with tension. How do you stop singing with tension?
I can't afford lessons though, because I'm really not rich and my family's broke.
Get a piece of construction paper and hold it up to the bridge of your nose. Try to sing over it. My friend Eric had a similar predicament, and this is what he did, and now it's better, and his voice doesn't sound covered up.
Try this. It might be your problem. Also, be sure that you're breathing correctly. You should always have good posture. Attain this by bending over to touch your toes and rolling yourself up and your shoulders back.
