I'm 24 years old, going on 25 and I've never had a boyfriend, I've been on dates, if you want to call taking me to McDonald's as a date...anyway, everytime I see my friends or even relatives smooching or cuddling with their significant other it puts me down, it's like a slap in the face. I've never even experienced my first kiss yet. Everyone knows how I feel and everytime they say again and again "Don't worry, you're turn will come", I am so fed up with hearing that! Any advice you can give me? (link)
|
Hi, I would have to say that I too agree with putting yourself out there. I also wanted to let you know that my very close friend was/is in the same situation as you. she is pretty and has an awesome personality but did not have her first kiss until she was 23. She still has never had a "boyfriend." Right now at age 25, she is having her first sexual relationship which is a non-attached sort of thing. This has helped her gain confidence and start to be more outgoing around the opposite sex. Before all this she was fed up with me always telling her that her time will come eventually. Instead of telling her that, I made an effort to take her out to public places, bars, concerts, etc. also touching herself up made her more confident. Go get some new clothes that compliment you, get a new hairstyle, just do anything that will make you feel good about yourself. If you think that you will never meet someone, you probably won't. I know it is hard, but stay positive and keep telling yourself that you are a good catch and any guy would love to be with you. Power of attraction. If you believe something enough, you will have it. Also, even if you are against it, you may consider internet dating. Craigslist is free and I do know someone who met their fiance on there. There are also the payed sites, and other singles clubs. When you go out, make eye contact with an attractive man, smile and let him know without coming out and saying it that you are available and a great gal. I cannot stress confidence enough. The more you put yourself out there, the more you will be noticed and thus the better you will feel about yourself. Confidence is definetly a turn on. Good luck, think positive and don't give up. one more thing...i strongely believe in fate, and perhaps you just haven't met your soul mate yet and you are supposed to only be with him. it could very well turn out that you find the most loving, perfect relationship because you had to wait so long for it. again, good luck, take care and never think that you are the only one out there in your position.

Ok so i had a friend. lets call her Megan. Megan is black. And i am half black half white.(not meaning to offend anyone.) And like a month before school ended we got into an...argument. And she was reallt mean and yelling and stuff. And we were going to fight. Well i never thought fighting was the way. I think that in the end, things are just as bad as before. So of course she wants to fight me anyways. Plus i play select soccer, and my life is centered to that. And getting into a fight could get my in trouble with my team. And everyone wants us to fight. I just dont want it to seem like in chickening off. I mean if thats what i takes, ill do it, but is there any way to get her to understand that i dont want to fight. I mean i forgot about it until she had her friend email me. I WILL not do anything that could hurt my chances of getting into a good school or hurt my chances of staying on this soccer team. So what can i do or tell her to make her back off and understand that i dont care about something that happened a long time ago? (link)
|
If you really don't want to fight her, just don't do it. If she is willing to listen, tell her some of the stuff you wrote on here. You can be the mature one and just tell her you don't want to fight her because she is younger than you and you don't feel like you need to prove anything to her. Maybe if you just ignore the subject and not egg her on at all she will just give up and move on. good luck and good choice not to fight...fighting is pretty lame, especially when girls do it.

I would really like to get a cat, but the problem is my fiancé is allergic to cats (it's not TOO bad with hives or anything, but his eyes really water and he sneezes quite a lot around cats).
My mother says that she used to be allergic to cats, but got one and her allergies went away within a year-- but only to that one cat. She still had reactions while around cats other than the one she owned.
Can a person really become immune to a certain animal if they are around it enough? Or should I just make my fiancé get allergy shots? (link)
|
I agree with Nallie, sometimes a person can become immune to cats. As a kid I was very allergic to cats and then when I turned 18 I got two cats. For awhile it was bad, but eventually I never had any reactions, but that's just me. Also, there are certain breeds that are hypoallergenic. I myself own a Bengal cat which doesn't have the common cat allergies. there are other breeds too such as the desert lynx and maybe Savannah. You could google it and find breeds that are affordable that your fiance will not be allergic to.

i'm 13 and i took the classes for being a babysitter and i still don't have a job beacuse i don't avertise but i want to be safe...well how do i please help thank you
-davina- (link)
|
You could also try craigslist.com and post in the city you live in. I found a really great babysitter for my son on craigslist under childcare. If you are worried about safety, maybe have someone wait in the car or come in with you while you are interviewed by the parents for the first time.

so me and my friend were sittin here thinkin it would be fun to inhale some fumes from this hair prosuct she has. (yes i know.. we're retarded. lol)

and we're gettin all hot.
we read the back and it said "can be harmful or fatal"
how big is the risk of us dying?
llol... please and thankyou. (link)

i could not agree more with the previous columnists. i just wanted to add...if you care about your friends, family, and yourself you will never do that again. My best friend's boyfriend in highschool died from huffing and seven years later she is not over it. it is one of the foolishest things people do to get high. chemicals are not meant for your body. stay safe please

I'm having trouble eating beef. I need to eat more meat, but I really don't like the way it tastes.
What are some ways I can make this easier? Like certain dishes where you can't take the meat that much?
For instance, I don't like eating roast beef or steak because it's simply just meat all by itself. I want to cover it up with flavor or sauce, like a stir fry or something, but what other dishes are there? (link)
|
If you really do not like meat, you can get enough protein elsewhere. Nuts such as peanuts, almonds, cashews, peanut butter, etc has a lot of protein. Beans are very high in protein. There are many dishes you can make with different types of beans. Seiten is a good source and tastes similar to meat. Tofu, fish, eggs and soy milk have protein. My point is, if you don't like meat, you don't have to eat it to have a balanced diet and be healthy.

would an apple cider vinigear pill work as well?
where could i buy the pills? (link)

yeah, the pill would probably work as well... I'm sure you could get it at a GNC or whatever chain store they have in your area.

My son is 16 months old. I've been tossing the idea around to start trying the whole potty training bit to see if he's ready.
Is that too young?
Any pointers and tips would also be appreciated. (link)

I think it all depends on signals he is showing you. Does he tell you when his diaper is wet and needs a change? does he seem interested in watching you or anyone else use the toilet? You could just start slow by telling him big boys poddie in the toilet and get him a little poddy chair. My son is 19 months and he seems interested in watching us use the toilet, but doesnt seem to want to himself. I figure I would wait until he shows a little more interest, in case too much forcing will want him to rebel against using the toilet. good luck

i was the prson who ate the cheesecake and whatnot and gained like 3-4 pounds from one night
the day that i sent in the question i went running for 3-4 miles and
ate sushi and low fat ice cream (and water)
i probably did have too much of that though
through out the day though when i weighed myself the number did go down to 115 after awhile
the next day (yesterday)
i went running in the morning for 1-2 miles
then had work (which is a camp that involves little kids)
so that must have burned something
went to the gym for an hour (one class is supposed to burn like 700 calories)
then went running again for another 1-2 miles
the only food i ate (which was in one meal) was
a piece of low fat chicken (300 calories)
salad with low fat dressing (300)
and some turkey in light honey mustard (300-400?)
i get on the scale this morning to find that im still 119
if im eating a lot less then sweating myself to death with working out, why am i not back at my normal weight? (115) (link)
|
A better way to measure your results would be to actually measure yourself. Get a tape measure (the soft kind) and write down in inches or centimeters how far around is your waist, hips, thighs, arms, etc. That will tell you if all this exercise and eating right is working. the scale can be inaccurate for a number of reasons: you are retaining water, the scale could be off, what you are wearing, and probably the most likely culprit: muscle gain. as you exercise your fat turns to muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. You are probably getting thinner and more toned, but the scale won't tell you that. so use your measurements and pay attention to how your pants and shirts fit. good luck

what if i do two teaspoons of apple cider vinigear?? and where do you get it?? whats it look like? (link)
|
you can get it in the same aisle at the grocery store you would get regular vinegar. it looks like vinegar but more redish orange in color i think. I heard it tastes sort of bad. And I am sure you could do two teaspoons but probably google it to be sure

so my friend just moved to Texas and I live in Ohio. My friend and I want to go visit her spring break and we want to fly. I have never been on a plane before and I am excited. but I was wondering What airplane companies are the best? we want to go straight through. And we are only 15 and we don't want to pay a lot of money. Also do I order the ticket from online? What is the website? Just tell me all I need to know about flying. (link)
|
The best way i think to find a ticket is to go to either travelocity.com or cheaptickets.com . they change hourly so you can watch it and find the cheapest flight and find one that goes straight through, but it will probably be more expensive. They now charge 25 dollars per checked bag though. You will need a credit card to order online and make sure you have a current ID when you go to check in for your flight. Check out the rules online too, because now there is a very long list of items that you are not allowed to bring on the plane. have fun

what do you mean it will curb appetite? (link)
|
It means that it will make you less hungry or not hungry at all.
|
i was just curious how bad it hurts when u get your nose pierced and do you have to go anywhere special to get it done
also how bad does it hurt to get a tattoo and where are the best places to go (link)
|
I have had multiple ear piercings, eyebrow piercing, and the nose piercing hurt the worst. Tattoos are painful, but it depends on where you get the tat and your threshold for pain. personally i don't mind the pain from a tattoo because it is continuous and you get used to it after awhile. I would say go to a tattoo parlor that does piercings as well that looks clean and has had good reviews from locals.

Is there any "remedies" that help you lose weight? Like I know if you drink the snapple green tea you start to lose some weight because it boosts your metabolism. I would like to know anything & everything. I am open to any answers you may have... but I would like to know that this is tried & true but either you or a friend so I know that it actually has/does work.
Thanks (link)
|
I agree with spicy foods, they do boost the metab. Also, snapple green tea will NOT help, it has additives in it and really is not much green tea at all. Use tea bags and sweeten it with sugar or honey if you must. Any small extra movements throughout your day will also help. Drinking ice cold water helps boost the metab because your body used more energy to warm itself after. Interval exercise is great. Getting enough sleep helps. as well as the basics of eating smaller portions and healthier foods and exercise. Try and only drink water and tea and not juice or soda--way too much sugar. I heard that a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar will help curb appetite. And it is true...do not eat for three hours before you go to sleep. good luck

THis may be complicated.
I live 28 hours away from the person I love. Here is where it is complicated. I've met him once, he has been my pen-pal for almost 2 years now. I "met" him through my friend which is also his friend as well. (they've actually met) I went down this summer and I met him and things went more then great. I would move for him in a heartbeat & i am sure he would too but he cant (literally). Any advice as what to do? I cant stop thinking about him, i know my world would seriously flip upside down if I did not have him. Call me crazy, but i love him. I am not young & stupid. I am 19 and this is not just a toy thing because if this was just a lil dinky stage i was going through i wouldnt waste it on a guy 28 hours away.
SHould I move?
What should I do? (link)
|
Honestly, true love is something you do not want to pass up. I know this as a FACT. same situation, except we saw eachother in person more times and it went on for years. years that i could have been with him and now it is too late. I would say make sure it is something you really want to do, visit the area first and spend a little more time with him. a plane ticket is expensive but worth it to see your love. If you both are on the same page take that step. good luck. love is a beautiful thing.

Im only 18. I have a full time job, but i still live with my parents. My fiance is going to college next year and im not sure what im going to do. I want to get married and have a baby. We both want them. I want to get married because it feels normal although we both understand that we need to have money, and a house, and good jobs i feel so ready it feels right. I already started thinking about baby names with him and we are completely ready. I know that we could take care of a baby if we had to but at the same time he wants to wait. I understand the consquences but its just i dont want to wait but then again i do. What should i do? Is this normal? (link)
|
Personally, I think it is normal. Society tends to believe nowadays that you need a stable job, own your own house and be over 20 to start a family. In my opinion, you are ready if you love your partner and have thought about all the time and money and love you have to give your child and can fulfill all their baby needs. Now, if you were 15 I probably would lean towards the answer that you are not ready. If this isn't just a thought on a whim, and you have put serious thought into it, you probably could handle having a child at this point in your life. And being engaged tells me you have a serious commitment and are willing to raise this baby together for the next 18 years of his/her life. I'd say, if you are both on the same page about starting a family...go for it. If not, wait a few more years and start then. Good luck whatever you end up doing. you may also want to be sure you are living somewhere where it is comfortable to have a baby. Parents are a good help especially with infants, but you may want your privacy and a place to call your own.

Just a few days ago, I got a new pet bunny (I named him Pippin, and he is a Lionhead rabbit). He's very young, but it took him less than a day to get well adjusted to his new cage and our house. At first, he was very sweet, but recently he's been biting a lot. I don't mean chewing on the furniture; he's been biting me, my sister, and everyone else- and he bites HARD. At first it didn't hurt, but just a few minutes ago he bit me hard enough that I actually felt a little afraid of him, and I put him away soon after that. How am I supposed to train him to not bite people? It's a really horrible problem to have, especially if it gets worse, because we can't just have a bunny in our kitchen that we can't let out because he bites viciously. What can I do? (link)
|
Well, someone I knew used to spray this sour apple type spray that you can get at pet stores on her hands to train her little dog not to snip at her. I used to have a pet ferret that bit when he was little at first. I started sticking my finger down his throat when he bit me (not too rough) and he would gag a little but he was ok. It was not pleasant for him and in a little over a week he never bit me or my roommates again.

Me- 16-female
Boyfriend- 17-male
we've been dating for almost a year and my idea for our year since we havent taken many pictures was take one of the pictures we have and put it in a little frame for him and then put it in a box with a shirt he'd like along with our favorite candy that we purchase and eat together quite frequently which happens to be gummy worms & put a few bottles of his favorite pop and maybe an energy drink in there and give it too him that way does this sound like something you would enjoy to get?
would you give this to your boyfriend for your 1 year?
((moneys an issue for me))
which is why i cant go all out like he does for me.i love him
please give me your imput and maybe some more ideas of things to add to make it extra amazing! =D (link)
|
Also don't forget a card. Write in it how much he means to you and how much you've enjoyed the time you have spent together and all that. Sometimes words and knowing one's true feelings mean more than objects.
