Today I was talking to my girlfriend on the phone while I was doing homework. I was actually making progress on it (more than I would have otherwise) because I was doing something I enjoy at the same time. My dad yelled at me to hang up the phone and get off of the computer so that my brother could play his computer games. I tried to explain the situation but he wouldn't listen. He said I was talking to my girlfriend on the phone in order to avoid homework. He didn't understand that it was actually helping me. I am afraid to tell him that multitasking is actually a better way for me to study. As I said my goodbyes to my girlfriend he continued to yell at me. I tried talking to him in a calm voice which just made him mad. He grabbed my arm and pushed me against the radiator (my back really hurts) and told me that I was giving him bullshit. My own father won't listen to me and I don't know how to get the message to him that I need him to let me take care of my own academics. I feel like I will go more insane than I already am if this doesn't end. (link)

Fathers can be a real pain sometimes. I think that he is quite concerned about your studies. Maybe it is because you are not getting such good grades (no offense). I see that no matter how calmly you try to tell him, he wouldn't listen. You should talk to you mom about this. Usually parents tend to communicate better than with children. Tell you mom how you feel, and that you think you dad is not treating you fairly. If you don't have a mom, I think that it might also work instead of trying to explain it calmly, you should surprise him by shouting at him. I usually works when you surprise a parent because they would have never expected something like that from you. This might not work on some other parents.

I'm really just not into this guy at all any more... we've been dating for like six months or something and I can't stand him. He likes me way more than I like him. But he recently moved like an hour and a half away and we're still dating i guess and I have a car but I really don't want to drive an hour and a half there just to break up with him and then drive back so is it completely cruel if i just text him? I agree that you should break up. You don't sound at all like you are in this relation ship. You should go into a relation ship where you actually enjoy your self. I think that it is quite cruel to text him. So what I suggest is that you should meat some where close b your neighborhood and have some coffee or tea. Be gentle with him because you said that he is quite into him. Tell him that you like him as a friend, but it is not working out because he lives so far away now.

There are some nights where i dream of this girl trying to kill me. Sometimes when I wake up I feel as if she is there in my room. It gets hard to wake up some nights. What does this mean? Am I going crazy? (link)

Off course you are not crazy. Many people dream of different thing during the night, frightening or pleasurable, we all dream. Even if we don't know it.
You see, here is how it works: Dreams are three different type of things:
1) We dream at night so our bodies can work out what happened during the day. It is very hard too explain, but it is like our body lets go of the things we where going through during the day, so you usually dream about it. You should try to figure out why you are dreaming this. As I always say, dreams mean things. Maybe there is a girl that doesn't like you and you are projecting your sacredness of her in your dream. Instead of you being afraid of her, she is actually physically doing some thing to you. You should figure out if you have any one that is like her in your life. People in dreams don't usually look like the people in your life. So consider that.
2) Dreams can also be warnings for something that might happen in the future. Think about your dream, think what it could mean. It will help you in your future life. Don't be frightened, someone is probably not going to kill you. You see dreams usually times the chaos that will actually happen. (e.g. I kept on dreaming about a dead body being throw into a river, and after that I was dancing. This did not mean anything cruel, what it meant was to let go of the past, than I can live happily in the future.) Try to figure out what your dream meant.
3) On your comment on how you feel she was in the room. It might not have any thing to do with dreams. This may sound unrealistic to you but you could have a past life of someone hunting you. Someone that did not move on. If you don't believe this, don't do the rest of this advice: You should get some one from a church or fenshui place to cleanse your house. They make all the evil spirits go away and bless you with good ones. For all the non believers, I had this done and it did work quite well.

I am twelve years old and I'm very confused about my guy friend's and my relationship. He always talks to me before class, joking around and so. Sometimes when I look towards him I catch him looking at me, and other times out of the corner of my eye i see him glance at me. This could defiantly be a sign that he likes you.
Here is how I see it:
He stares at you in class because he thinks you are good looking (he likes you)
Jokes around you, always a good quality for a guy friend, this means he is not afraid to open up to you (he likes you)
Talks to you, good, since there is no such thing as a friend ship without conversation (he likes you)
I think that the only reason you are asking wether her likes you is because he doesn't acknowledge you in the hall when he talks to his friends. There are two simple explanations behind this:
1) He likes you, but he doesn't want his friends to know because they might force him into asking you out when he is not ready yet.
2) He told his friends and he ignores you in the hall way because if he would look at you, his friends would start to tease him, and he doesn't want you to know that he likes you because he is shy.
Thrust me, guys can be pretty strange.

Boys in middle school can all be really different. It depend on what kind of school you go to really.
If you go to a strict school: Treat them as friends, ask if they want to go to the movies with you, be kind to them. You could do study dates with some guy friends. But don't over flirt. The reason I am saying this is because you are in a strict school so the guys are probably not used to having girls flirting with them. And believe it or not, they might find it a little weird.
If you go to a open school: Guys in these schools fool around more so flirt with them when you want. But don't worry, if you flirt with a guy you don't really like because they are used to it. If you don't flirt they might consider you alien. Go to parties with them, go on dates. And at these kind of schools it is normal to go over to guys' houses, so you could invite them to yours.

I don't know what category this would go into but i chose this one. I'm ten years old and I am a girl, though.So, my friend Maddie and I like the same guy. However, she doesn't know that I like him. It seems to be that your best friend really thrusts you. Usually girls at your age don't really tell any one when they like someone they know they can thrust. I think that she thrusts you allot.
Here is what I think of the situation: If you don't tell her, she will (as your friends) obviously notice that you like him. Since you like him you probably stare at him or at least give off some sign. She will notice and confront you with it. When you lie to her, she will know the truth. That is what will break your friend ship. Not telling the truth. Truth is the most important thing in a friend ship. And once that is broken there is allot of tension. I say that you should just tell her the truth, tell her that you like him.
It is very frequent that someone emails me telling me about similar situations as you. It is very common that best friends are into the same guys. Mostly because friends are made by people having things in common. Since you are you friend have things in common it is easy for you to fall for the same guy.
Tell her that you like him. And if she really is a good friend she will not mind. It is better to tell her now than her knowing you have been keeping it a secret from her. And if she is okay with it. Promise to each other that you will not make a competition out of it and that you will stay friends no matter what.

I think that you should first talk to her about sex. Ask her when it was the first time she had sex (as a mom she wouldn't mind) This might give her a clue that you might want to have sex. I am a nigerian.. My boyfriend suddenly changed, he doesn't call to tell me his plans like he used to before, he is always in a hurry to diconnect the call each time he tries to call and he always promise to call back which he doesn't. The bad thing is that he doesn't see any big deal in it. (link)

Like I told another person that asked something similar: Guys change! They change for these reasons:
1) They are hanging out with other friends and are being influenced by them and start behaving like that.
2) (Sorry, might be a bit harsh but true) He might do it on purpose so you would dump him so he would not have to put you through the pain of him dumping you.
3) It is simply his hormones. Teenage guys all the way up to 20 have a change in mood all the time. Sometimes they are nice, some times they are bad ass.
I think that it is really up to you what you do. You should dump him if you feel like you don't need him. If you still feel for him, tell him that you love him and tell him how you feel and that you think he has changed. If he truly loves you he will understand.

I broke up with my boyfriend yesterday. I just didn't feel happy anymore. He barely made time for me like he did when we first started dating. He ignored all my calls and texts, and I just felt so doubtful that he liked me. I couldn't take it anymore. He just changed. He was so sweet and caring and loving and funny, everything to me. I kept pushing my doubts aside, fighting with myself not to break it off. And finally, I did. He didn't make any attempts to talk about what was the problem, because he's lazy. He had the time to, he just wouldn't pick up the phone. He always made up excuses as to why we couldn't hang out. His bike tire was broken. He had to do yard work. He didn't feel good. All those excuses. And when I could give him a ride somewhere, he still made excuses. I really fell for him pretty fast. I thought he did too. But I guess it was all just a lie.
so now I regret my decision. Mainly because I didn't give him another chance to try and fix things. I miss him like crazy. But he won't get back with me. He has this thing where he has rules for relationships. And getting back with someone isn't one of those rules. He's rejecting me when I promised him I'd fix whatever was breaking us apart. He said he had feelings for me but they just dwindled over time. I'm so crushed he didn't tell me. He says he's sorry and when I tell him to prove it, he's like: bye. I don't even think he ever did like me. I thought we had an amazing thing going. I shouldn't be so depressed. Yesterday was my sixteenth birthday, and even though I had so much fun, that feeling of emptiness was there. And now it's Easter. I've slept the pain away but I know it will return. He's just turned into a jerk. He's turned into a selfish arrogant jerk that thinks he's too good for me. If he really liked me, he'd give me another chance. I just want him back. I miss him so much. I think that your ex changed maybe because of the people he was hanging out with. Usually when a guy gets new friends or hang out with different people they tend to change their character pretty fast. Maybe he made up excuses because his parents did not allow him to see you. I think that whatever it was, in the begging he loved you, but he changed pretty fast according to what you said.
I am sorry to say this (please don't take it the wrong way, I only want to help) that you don't really miss him. I think you miss the old him, the one that used to make you laugh. But I think that it will be hard to get that back. No offense to any one but guys are pretty hard to change. I think that you miss having someone around.
You should defiantly not regret dumping him. He was really mean to you and you are way to good for him. If he is lazy and cannot go out with his girlfriend, I don't think he is worth dating. You might feel empty and sad because you don't feel like you used to before. Before he was around to say he loved you and now all you have is your friends. But don't worry, you dumped him yesterday. It takes pretty long to get over a guy. Like a week or two. But take my advice, you are way to good for him, you deserve a guy that is nice to you all the time and that has time for you.
Think about it: If you had not dumped him, you would have been more heart broken because of his excuses and him not having time for you. Thrust me honey, you did the correct thing. Don't feel sorry, there are plenty of other guys out there lucky enough to go out with a girl like you.

Well, I am moving soon away from the person I love alot. He has been there for me ever since i moved here and his friends and family are awsome! But my mom decides to move due to really personal issues and there is no way to change her mind. Me and her DO NOT get along! Everday i go home after school and into my room and lock myself in my room and cry into a pillow. I have actually tried to commit suicide three times and I have been cutting myself. But I had quit cause i already 13 marks on my arm. But i feel useless on this world..like no one will miss me when I'm gone. I want to die but at the same time i don't want to face the consequences of hell. What should I do? I dont know why i have these feelings of depression..its not because of my mom.. I love her to death even though we don't get along. and I noticed that im going throught this at a very young age, 12 and a half to be specific. I dont want therapy because first it will make it worse and i will think i gone crazy and just cry even more. I feel like a mistake. Or that i have one of those illnesses that could be cured. please help me, i am scared that i'll snap one day and just runaway from home and on the verge of life and death. i am female. (link)

I think that you will feel allot less lonely if you have a better relationship with your mom. As you said, you love her to death. Tell her how you feel. If any one would understand, it would be your mom. I think One of the main reasons you have such a bad relationship with your mom is because of the move. You should talk to her about how you feel. Open up to her. Maybe just saying what is on your mind could help her understand and maybe even change her mind.
Trying to do suicide must mean that you are going to something pretty rough in your life. You should write in a diary how you feel. Say why it is that you do these actions. Figure out why you feel this way.
This may sound pretty stupid to you, and you would probably think, yeah right, Alice thinks she know every thing, but this is true and it really helps:

This is true. Instead of asking for advice and whining (I really don't mean to offend you) you should do something about your situation.
For example:
Problem: You love someone allot have to move away.
Answer: Email him ever day, visit him during the holiday, stay in touch with him until you are old enough to move back. Look up to the future. Try to pursued you mom by telling her how you feel to stay there.
You see how you should look for solutions to your problem instead of whining about them. In your life you are going through a face right now that most teens go through. I myself went through it once. I was 12 (same age as you) and my mom and I where not even close, but I loved her. When she said that those things where nice I would completely disagree although I really did like it. I thought I met my sole mate. But when we changed classes and we where not in the same class any more I was heart broken. I talked to the principle and they moved me to his class. After a week he dumped me. I even ran away once from home. After that, I came back hungry and no where to go. That is when it started to go better, and now me and my mom are best friends. And I got over my ex. I know how you feel, sometimes you just feel like "Why do I exist, I am a mistake of god." But as I always say, There is a purpose for every one on this earth. And they all create their own future.

But the best of all is all of them put together. I once saw one performed by a group of teenagers. It was a tragic song, but one of the girls was singing, and the others where dancing to it in a sort of dramatic way, they used lots of dramatic technique. It was the most beautiful piece I ever saw. This would totally win the talent show.

When the man gets sexually excited his penis tightens and it turns harder so it is easier for him to insert it into the vagina of the woman. Men produce sperm cells (Cells that swim to fertilize and egg cell, it contains chromosomes and genes which carry genetical information for a new offspring/baby). Women produce egg cells (Cells that are quite big, they don't require any movement, they sit there waiting to be fertilized by the sperms cell. It contains food store for a new offspring. It also contains chromosomes and genes from the mother.) The sperm cell comes out off the penis along with liquid and in to the woman's vagina, the sperm cell then swims to the egg cell.
If couples don't want to get a baby, they do the same, except the man usually wears a condom, and the woman sometimes wears foam. The condom prevents sperm cells from entering the vagina.

20/F and 22/M
Okay. So I have a friend, call him Steve. I've known him for YEARS and I know his family well. During high school, we hung out with different crowds so we went our ways and now we're really close friends again.
And of course, NOW I like him more than a friend since we've been hanging out and going out for almost a year now.
Problem is... he has a girlfriend that he's been dating on-and-off for about 8 months. The girlfriend is not exactly a friend but more than an acquaintance. The girlfriend is a strong believer in abstinence and Steve is definitely NOT a virgin (Kudos to her but that's not my style).
So Steve and I have gone out a lot lately(without his girlfriend). I don't consider them dates. SO, we were going out this past Friday night. Well my mom and her two friends wanted to talk to him while I finished getting ready. So I walked out and who knows what all those crazy women said to him. Haha.
So, we go out, had a blast. On the way home I asked him what my mom and her friends were saying. Well they said 'that he should dump his girlfriend and sweep me off of my feet because that's what I want.' Which is true in a way. So I then asked him what he had said back to it and he said "Well, I kinda asked your mom for permission to date you."
Well, I text my mom and asked her if she remembered that (they were all drinking at the time) and she said she didn't remember it.
I asked him if he was serious about that and he said yeah he was serious. And that he was definitely breaking up with his girlfriend.
Well, of course, Facebook sucks in some ways. The girl that he is currently dating always tags them wherever they go. So last night, they were having dinner together. And I haven't heard much of him since Friday night. Does this mean that he's not interested or something? He's still in a relationship on his FB (and he has an iPhone if it makes a difference).
UGH. Tips? I'm a very impatient person. I'm VERY independent. I don't need him, I just want him more than friends. But like I said, I don't NEED him.
I don't want to be pushy/clingy/crazy. That's definitely not me. So, should I just ignore him until he messages/calls/texts me first? Btw, I hate waiting too. Been there, done that and I absolutely hate it.
Tips, suggestions, ANYTHING at all would be a great help. :)

The way I see it is that you are not sure weather to answer his question to go out with him or not.
I think that you and your friend are pretty close together and deserve to be more than friends. In my opinion Steve has an on an off girl friend for 2 reasons: 1. He likes you and doesn't want you to think he is not available, but at the same time not a single loner. 2. He just wants to have a girlfriend. I think that you should not rely on Facebook because some people forget to update. I think that the reason he hasn't called you yet is because he feels sort of shy about asking your mom and then telling you what she said. I say that he is probably waiting for you to make a move and say that you want to go out with him. At the moment that you say you want to go out with him, he will dump her. Guys don't like to be considered as someone desperately waiting for an answer, but usually they are waiting for girls to make the first move. So I say call him, or text him, and ask him again if he really meant it. If he answers yes, say that you like him too. You guys should be together!

It depends on what kind of person you are. I think that most guys like girls that just take the wedding ring and not buy him one. Usually you would keep that one and then you would both go to buy two identical ones in a store. But that changes from time to time. If you are a person that likes to give people presents and surprise them, sure you should buy him one. But I don't really think that men think about that kind of stuff.

It is different form each person. It really dependents on peoples hormones. The signs that you start puberty are when you start to become more moody, and (no offense) do stupid stuff like cheat on your partner. You usually get mad for no reason. Stuff that changes in girls is:
Their breast grow
They get more hips
Grow pubic hair
start menstruating or having their period
start to have red spots on their face
Grow under arm hair (there is more, but these are the obvious ones)
In guys:
They grow pubic hair
Testicles grow bigger
get under arm hair
start to have red spots on their face (there is more too)
If you have one of these already, it probably means that you already started puberty. Also one thing that changes is that you are more often attracted to the opposite sex.

I am 13 and I think I have started my period, I had it for a couple of days and then it stopped, it has been a month and I havnt had it again, have I started or not??? (link)

Since this was your first period it must be normal.
Most first periods are odd. Usually you don't bleed as much as average girls that have longer had their period do. This is absolutely normal, so don't worry. It will take a while since it goes to normal. Your body is just getting used to it functioning this way, it also depends on your hormones. You might need to take pills for your hormones because it could be that there is some difference in them but I doubt it. Normal women count 28 day between their periods. But for a teenager, it might take as long as 38 days since your body is still getting used to it.
Yes, I think you have started your period, just mark it on the calendar every time you get it so you can count 28-38 days on the calendar.

I think it depends on what type of school you are going to and if your hormones have kicked in yet.
If you go to a school where half of the people in your year have a boyfriend, then I think you are not too young. I had a writer who wrote to me that she just turned nine and her boyfriend was eight, so trust me, you are no where near young.
If you have your period already, then I think it is normal for you wanting a boyfriend. If your hormones have kicked in it means that you body will act in this way allot, so you should get used to it.
I think that the best way to tell your parents is to first talk to them about how they felt when they first fell in love and how old they where. Then you should talk to your mom alone and tell her you think you like some one. Then she will go easier on you when you tell her you have a boyfriend. Telling your dad is completely different tough, your mom will probably talk to him and they will agree on boyfriend rules. And what is aloud and not. But depending on your parents character, sometimes the dad agrees to having a boyfriend and the mom disagrees, you will have to find out.

Most people regret having Sex because most men take advantage of it. Some men just go out with women until they have sex with them and just dump them. Believe it or not, men love sex. All what it brings them is pleasure. Your sister probably regrets having sex because the person she had sex with was someone she did not truly love. You should always wait for the right moment, when you are with that special someone that you know you will love forever, and then you should have sex. Not with someone that you just want to have sex with because he is pressuring you into it.
I think it depends on what your boyfriend likes. I think that you should shave down there. I have no idea, but most men think that women with hair down there are disgusting, so I suggest that. Also, wear an easy to take off bra and a tong. It does not really matter actually, because when you are into it, he completely forgets about what you look like. So, you shouldn't think about that too much. Also, remind him to use a condom. But use foam, because men are usually forgetful. That is if you don't want to get pregnant.
I know that I gave you advice on sex, but to be honest, I think that no one should have sex below the age of 16. Most girls want it because they think it will be an experience, but about 90% of them end up regretting doing it. Also, if you do want to have sex, make sure it is with someone you truly love. And never do it with a guy that keeps on saying "We have been going out for...... and we still haven't had sex." Because that means the only reason he is dating you is because of sex. So wait for the right moment.

Im a 14 year old female. My life has many downs to it. I have many problems too. Then again, I have things to be greatful for. I have a few friends I love and many great church friends. I play high school softball, travel softball, and basketball. I absolutely love sports causr I am mainly a pitcher! Then...last week I was in a terrible car crash. I had to go into immediate surgery and had servere brain injurys that caused me not to remember anyone for a few days. I almost lost my legs completely but I didnt. But i AM paralyzed the rest of my life in a wheel chair!! I never thought anything like that could happen to me. I can
never do sports again or walk again! I just lay in this hospital bed as my friends and family telll me how sorry they are. The amazing part is that I havent cried since it happpened because I want to be strong. Theres noone I have to cry with but now I need a shoulder to burst on! (link)

I am really sorry. But listen to me. Things happen for a reason I believe. I think that worse could have happened. You are lucky to still be alive after a car crash like that.
I think you should let go of your past and move into the future. You should think about other hobbies besides sports. You could start writing or draw, this will keep you distracted from what has happened to you. When you said you have no one to cry with, I think that you need to open up to people more. Tell your friends and family how upset you are, that you can't walk any more. Show them how you are feeling. The only way to get rid of your sadness completely is too talk to someone that you trust about.
I will add that some of the greatest people alive are paralyzed. One of the worlds most famous scientist is paralyzed and can't move any part of his body except his left eye. Still, he continues to do his work, he continuos to create new things. Even tough only his eye can move. He has special glasses connected to his eye to detect movement, so he can work on a special computer. He is still a very famous man in history, and because of him, the world has improved.
Now think back at him, and compare him to your condition. You can't walk, but you can still do other things. You must make the most of your life. And let me remind you that every one has a sole mate, you will meat yours when it is the right moment. So don't beat up your self that you don't have any one now, you can get some one.
In your free time you could write a novel on how bad it is to be in a condition like this. You could help people with their problems. Tell them how lucky they are, tell them not to nag because so many poor, and injured people would wish they had what they have. You can still fulfill our true destiny. This accident is just a bump in the road. Yes, it might make some things more difficult, but you have to remember what an amazing human being you are, legs or no legs. I think you should. I think that if you don't masturbate you would get ideas of starting to cheat on him, which is not really the right thing to do. You should be sure you are doing it right first. I think there is really nothing wrong with masturbating, it is simply a way of escaping boredom when you are single or missing someone. There is nothing wrong with masturbating because you are not cheating on your boyfriend. So my advice is to go ahead, if you think you need it then do it. These are hormones talking, and if you masturbate you will feel better after it. But first think about it.
