okay so in the bar where you type in the website...is there a way you can delete the websites???
thanks.

If you don't know which browser you have, you have IE.

In IE use CCleaner:
http://www.ccleaner.com/
You must use a tool like ccleaner. There is no other way.

In Firefox, Opera, Netscape, and Flock go to tools, delete private data.

In K-Meleon, go to tools, privacy, clear all.

In SeaMonkey, go to edit, preferences. In the "history" category, "clear history".

In AOL Explorer, go to tools, delete usage tracks.

In Maxthon, go to tools, safety, clear browser history.

In Avant, go to tools, clear records.

If any of the above methods fail, use CCleaner:
http://www.ccleaner.com/

If I did not cover your browser, read the documentation.

Ok, so I've kinda started this interest in karaoke. The place we go only has a couple of songs that I'd consider singing.
I keep seeing these free programs to download that are for voice removal (I guess...?). One is called Karaoke Maker 2.0

I have no clue how this works. I know I can download them to regular CDs and not have the words for the screen. I also know that I have to have a special disc, CD+G, to have the music and the words on the screen.
I know I can somehow make CD+G karaoke discs on my computer.
I just have zero clue as to how to do this. Do I have to have a special disc drive for that?

And what are these voice removal programs? Is that something I even want to be dabbling with?

I figure I'd be better off just getting the CD+G music from a reliable site and making a disc full of songs I know I like, but... I'm clueless.

Any help you can give me, here, I'd appreciate.

Also, you may have to draw pictures in crayon, because I'm not very smart about computer programs. ;-)

Of course, I suppose I could just go buy discs from the store, but what if I spent $15 on a disc that only has one song I really want to sing?
I'm just a pain in the butt like that.
However, in the long run, that may be the easiest thing for me to do.
I just don't know.
Can you help me?

Thanks, Theymos!

Most music tracks have multiple channels. These channels control which speaker the sound is played to. It just so happens that a majority of music artists put their vocals in a separate channel from most of their other instruments, and all vocal-removing software take advantage of this. If a particular song doesn't do this, or it includes a lot of the instruments along with the vocals, then the vocals can't be removed automatically.

Here's a free program that removes vocals:
http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/vremover.htm
And here's how to do it with Audacity:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqXiKYG3J7M

I hadn't even heard of CD+G before you mentioned it, but from what I can tell, CD+G disks can be created with any CD burner with a CD-R or CD-RW disk. Or maybe not. I've certainly never seen CD+G disks sold in a store or online. I can't find any free software for creating CD+G disks, though. This looks like the best paid one:

Good luck!

Me and my guy are both Gemini's.. Can this relationship workout so that we can get married in future.. ???
he was born on June7th 1986 and
me on June8th 1989

please help me out

In astronomy, same sign relationships are one of the best. The best for Gemini would be Taurus or Cancer. A bit worse than Gemini-Gemini would be Aquarius or Libra.

But quoting Han Solo, "I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me believe there's one all-powerful force controlling everything. There's no mystical energy field controls my destiny."

It starts out with this... I needed to find a specific picture of a logo that said something but I only found a logo with something close enough. so i was wondering if there was a program somewhere where it let me change what the logo said but keep the font?

or if that is not possible, if i can somehow get the font name from a picture so i can type in whatever i want?

thanks

No, that's not possible. It's also not possible to automatically identify the font. You can use this site to help identify it, but it doesn't have any obscure fonts:
http://www.identifont.com/

You might be better off finding the image behind the text.

i downloaded a file that i shouldnt have downloaded.. and now my computer isnt working right. i downloaded it to my desktop and then deleted it and emptied my recycle bin. then i cleared all history, internet files, and cookies and did and xlg scan. when the scan finished it said all potentially harmful files have been deleted. i also did a norton antivirus scan. but now whenever i go on websites like myspace or facebook, it says internet explorer has stopped working and needs to close, and keeps closing out on me. what is wrong with my computer and how can i fix it? if i need to download any kind of programs it has to be free because i dont want to tell my mom because i shouldnt have downloaded the file i downloaded. thanks so much!

If you have advertisements popping up all over your computer as well as this problem, follow my guide here:
http://www.advicenators.com/talkaboutmetopic.php?t=333&userboard_id=38985

If you only have the "IE has a problem" error, then your antivirus software probably broke it. Go to start, run, control panel. Click "classic view" on the left. Go to "internet options". Click "reset" in the "advanced" tab.

If that doesn't work, try system restore, located in "system tools" in the start menu.

And if that doesn't work, insert your Windows Install disk. Go to start, run or type windowsKey+R, and type:
sfc -scannow
This might mess up your computer a bit. You won't lose any data, but some things might stop working.

Good luck!

i fixed a few things like the internet. but ive decided i want to restart everthing onmy computer, you know where like when it comes back on only the stuff that came with the computer will be on there and all the document and downloads will not be there.. thats what i want to do. can somone give me a step by step how to do this, i did it on my old computer by mistake once, but i want to do it on this one to get rid of trojan viruses and i think ive might of deleted important stuff on my computer by mistake. also will i need to get hardware again after i do this? i know i need to backup everything i want to keep. please help, i dont know exactly what im doing and i dont want to make a big mistake.

Reinstalling windows deletes every bit of data on your computer. Make sure you have everything backed up. You will not need new hardware.

Make sure you have your Windows Product key at hand. If you don't have it, you might make your computer unusable AND without any of your data.

If your computer came with a "Windows XP install disk" insert it into your computer, press enter when it asks, and follow the instructions. If it asks you which partition to use and you have exactly two options, pick the one with the largest number of bytes. If it asks you which partition to use and you have three or more options, ask a professional or delete all of them and then select "unpartitioned space". The second option might delete more data than you intend.

If your computer came with a "Windows Vista install disk", do as above except click "install" instead of pressing enter.

If your computer came with some sort of repair disk, insert it into your computer and follow the instructions.

If your computer didn't come with an install or repair disk, you lost it, or you don't have a product key, you can not reinstall windows. You will need to buy a Windows Vista or XP install disk. XP is only available online, and will be unobtainable in a few months.

Contact me on a different computer than the one you are reinstalling for more help:

Ok, this is really weird!... So I was reading on of the questions on this website, and then I clicked on a picture link. Then it opened something, and then my picture viewer popped up with A LOT of pictures. The thing is, I never saved any of those pictures on my computer!!! What's going on? I'm soo sure no one else saved them. I think they're just pictures or things I've seen on the internet. I'm really get freaked out cause I'm thinking this is like a virus. I also tried to search one o the file names so I can see where everything is located, but nothing came up! Even though I typed and searched the exact same name as one of the pictures. Now I'm having to delete these pictures, even though I never saved them D: and I don't know where any of them are coming from, so this might happen again later. Does anyone know what's going on, or what I should do?!

Yes, all browsers save every image you view for at least a few minutes (usually hours or days). You must have accidentally opened the cache. I doubt it's a virus, and I doubt it will ever happen again.

Stopping your browser from caching images will slow down your browsing a lot, and it's not always possible. I won't give a list of instructions here. Ask me another question with the name of your browser if you want instructions. Do not tell me in the feedback, I can't respond to that.

If you want to clear the cache, follow these instructions:

If you don't know what browser you have, you have IE 7 or 6 (probably 7).

In IE 7, go to tools, internet options. In the general (default) tab, click "delete..." in the "browsing history" section. Then click at least the first "delete files".

In IE 6, go to tools, internet options. In the general (default) tab, click "delete files" under the "temporary internet files" section.

In Firefox, Opera, Netscape, and Flock go to tools, delete private data. Check at least "cache".

In K-Meleon, go to tools, privacy, clear all.

In SeaMonkey, go to edit, preferences. I believe the option is under "privacy and security". Look for "clear cache" or "delete data".

In AOL Explorer, go to tools, delete usage tracks.

In Maxthon, go to tools, safety, clear cache.

In Avant, go to tools, clear records.

If any of the above methods fail, use CCleaner:
http://ccleaner.com

If I did not cover your browser, read the documentation.

I have a Samsung sgh-U600, and I was wondering if it's possible to change the settings someplace so I can have the apostrophe on the the #1 key.
So when I go through all the @ : ( ) and whatever, there'd be an apostrophe.
It's really annoying to go through the 'insert symbol' or whatever...since I don't text in slang.
Thanks!

i downloaded some things onto my computer and i think some of them are taking over and trying to crash my system. [bearshare, i think is whats doing it] i just now uninstalled alot of programs. there's this anti-virus thing that keeps scrwing with my computer, it's blocking me from reading my email because it says its trying to protect my computer bu all it wants me to do is buy its product, so its really messing with my internet and says 40 bugs are found in your system. im really worried because this cmputer cant be replaced and i dont want it to crash. and i want those viruses off. and my itunes isnt even working right. there's this screen that pops up every 30 seconds when im on itunes and it says AppleMobileDeviceHelper has stopped working.. then under it says a problem caused the program to stop working correctly & it says to close the program to notify if a solution is available but it won't close from that message so it doesnt work and doesnt check for solutions. and that screen keeps popping up.
please help save my computer...
before its too late :(

The "antivirus" is just making that up. They just want you to buy their useless product.

Follow my guide here:

If, after following that guide the problem still remains, post to a malware removal forum:

I was wondering if any of you can tell me how i can get clips from movies to be put on a video in windows movie maker.
llike this one for example

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaxUw0o5bPE&feature=related

just explain please

The easiest way is to download the video using bittorrent. Here's my bittorrent guide:
http://www.advicenators.com/talkaboutmetopic.php?t=94&userboard_id=38985
That'll give you a video file that you can take clips from at will.

If the video is shown on TV, you can also use a TV tuner card to receive video from your TV, or you could get a DVD player+burner to burn the video to a disk.

If you have the DVD and your computer has a DVD player, then you can rip the video using handbrake:
http://handbrake.fr/
If you bought the video from a store, then it's probably copy protected. You can remove this protection using dvd43:
http://www.dvd43.com/
Alternatively, if that combination doesn't work, just use DVDx (without dvd43):
http://sourceforge.net/projects/dvdx/

Because of the way Bittorrent works, downloading a copyrighted video from Bittorrent is probably illegal, even if you own it. Removing copy protection from a DVD you own is not illegal. Ripping shows from TV isn't illegal, but you can't give or sell the recording to anyone.

You can only legally put the video on Youtube etc. if you're using it for commentary, criticism, or parody, and your use doesn't replace the original work(i.e. someone isn't able to just watch your video instead).

how do i prepare for a fasting blood sugar test?
i know i'm not supposed to eat before it.. but for how long? we had to call back to set the appointment and knew i was getting a fasting blood sugar test so we told the lady who was scheduling my appointment but she didn't tell me anything to do before hand..

You need to ask them. The time and conditions vary. Sometimes you can drink water, sometimes you can't.

It's easiest to fast while sleeping, so you should schedule your appointment very soon after you normally wake up.

does anybody know what the thing called embeded that is next to a youtube video is for ive been tryin to find out but i cant find anything

You can see the effect here:
http://gorillamask.net/evdance.shtml
To get the youtube video on their page, they copy/pasted the embed code into their HTML.

The embed code won't work on myspace etc. It only works on sites that allow pure HTML and embedded content.

Ok, so my hair stylist told me I shouldn't use baby shampoo on my kids. She claims that tear-free soaps and shampoos contain Novocaine or something similar.

Now, I'm no fool. I go home, first thing I do is read the ingredients listed on the bottle of shampoo. Nowhere do I find Novocaine, or any other "caine" type of ingredient.

So I tried looking it up online. Someone asked it on Yahoo Answers and said it also contains formaldehyde.
What the...? Come on! Give me a break, already, ok?

I'm not very internet savvy, so that's the best I could come up with. So please don't tell me to Google.

I don't need to have this concern about the soap that goes into the eyes, noses, ears, and sometimes mouths of my children!

Please! Somebody give me a FACT.
Solid Fact.

Links to reliable sources GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Don't worry that you may do looking for nothing- I do rate accordingly.

Thanks for your help...

Novocaine is a controlled substance. If any non-prescription product contained it, the product would be pulled off the marked faster than you can say "$1,000,000 fine".

Formaldehyde is extremely irritating. You would know if it was in your soap.

Alright, I am about 5'2 , and I weigh over 150. Yes I know I need to lose weight. But here is my question,
- I have a treadmill, and I was wondering If I ran about an hour everyday on it, would I lose weight ?
- I'm looking to lose all of it in my legs & stomach.
- I DON'T eat healthy. I don't like salads or most healthy food, so don't tell me to eat healthy.
- Sits up never seem to work for me. But I do them probably three times a week.
- Please help me here. I don't have enough money to go buy a new machine to work out with, and cardio I could try but I don't think I will enjoy it.

Please answer all of my questions. Thanks in advance.

You will lose weight if you burn more calories than you consume. If you eat 3000 calories and burn 2500, you will gain weight, no matter how many of those calories were lost due to exercise.

I want to make this very clear. I am only asking this question to people who have tried this themselves. If you have not actually tried it your self, with your own time and money, and you tell me it is a scam cause you think it is, i will give you a score of a 1.

With that said.
I would like to know if anyone has tried that letter you get in the mail, where everyone helps everyone make money. You send $6 to the six people and then you put your name on the list. At the end of 3 or 4 months you are supposed to make around $800,000. The reason that I want to hear from somone who has done it, is because there are a lot of people who have told me that Melaleuca and The Team and stuff like that are scams and I know first hand that they are not. They just take time, money and dedication. So if anyone has tried this letter thing and it has worked for them I would like to know, cause I will do it. If it doesn't let me know what you did and why it didnt work for you. Thank you for your time.

That is a pyramid scheme and a chain letter, both illegal. If you forward it, you will be fined up to $200,000 and/or imprisoned up to 2 years.

Okay So you know where you type in the website that you wanna visit? (such as http://www.advicenators.com) well... You know how when you have already been to that perticular website you can just scroll down and it will be listed right.

Well How do you remove those websites so they can't appear when you scroll down?
I know this sounds stupid/crazy or whatever but I just recently bought a new desktop computer off of ebay and the previous owners websites are still listed.
Help... PLEASE

thanks

If you don't know what browser you have, you have Internet Explorer.

In IE use CCleaner:
http://www.ccleaner.com/
You must use a tool like ccleaner. There is no other way. Select "autocomplete form history" and "recently typed URLs" at least. I recommend checking all of them.

In Firefox, Opera, Netscape, and Flock go to tools, delete private data. Clear history. You can also use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select the URL you want to remove and press shift+delete.

If I did not cover your browser, read the documentation.

I have a new computer that uses Vista. I love Vista! However, I dont love the Norton Security System that came with it. My account expires in about twenty days and it keeps recommending that I enter a product key code and renew it or something, but its like $100 or something. I dont want the program on my computer anyway!!!
But the popups are constantly interfering with my Sims2, Toontown, when Im TRYING to get work done, they just BEG MEEEE to stop and do this, close this, dont go here, throw away the cookies, etc. I want to RIP MY HAIR OUTTT! GEEEZUS!
Yes, I play toontown its addicting :P
But what my main concern is, is that I love the play Sims2 but I havent been able to play it with this computer. I went on the website and everything for help. Im pretty sure the problem is Norton Security because I have similar problems with Toontown but my brother managed to fix that.
But the Sims keeps crashing after the blue part that say 'configuring this and that', and a popup comes up saying "This something something has crashed to the desktop and will be terminated." I hate it! Pleasssse HELP!

Uninstall it from start, control panel, classic view, programs and features.

Most computers come with a lot of useless trial software like that. You might want to remove those while you're at it.

I recommend Avast for free antivirus:
http://avast.com/eng/home-registration.php
And NOD32 for paid antivirus:

Hello.

On sites like Advicenators, and Myspace, you know how when you click the box where you type your username of email, a list of names of the accounts you've already logged in to comes up?

Is there any way to delete a username OFF of that list? Or do you have to delete them all? [Because I always type too fast and spell mine wrong so there are a ton of random ones on there]

Thanks!

In firefox, go to tools, options, security, show passwords. Select the username/password that you want to delete and click "remove".

For IE and Opera, try es's method (below). If that doesn't work, then I don't think there's a way to selectively delete passwords.

Hey Theymos, it's Laura [Laugh_Out_Loud_x0x]. I know you know a lot about computers, so I figured you're definitely the person to go to for help when I need it.

Anyways, today I was on the Internet doing nothing out of the ordinary, on the same sites I am on everyday when this popped up:
http://i38.tinypic.com/fvcmrs.jpg

Then, I tried to go to my Advicenators forum and this came up: http://i35.tinypic.com/2w2ndaq.jpg

I know nothing about Trojans or whatever, so is this something I should worry about? I restarted my computer and now I'm able to get on Advicenators [obviously] and that message hasn't popped up since, but is there something I need to do to get whatever that is off of my computer?

Thanks!

-Laura.

The first one is McAfee reacting badly to one of Advicenators' advertisements. It's happened a few times here in the past. It's not actually a trojan, just something that McAfee mistook as one. If it happens very often, contact DN with all the Advicenators files in your quarantine, and he'll have the ad removed.

The second one is a problem on Advicenators' end.

The problems are not related, and they're nothing to worry about.

does limewire cause really bad computer viruses? cuhz im on my laptop and i really dont want it to crash. and on my old computer, when i did virus scans, it said limewire was the most dangerous.
and one more thing, is limewire illegal? cuhz if it is, i dont want to do anything illegal.

-Anonymously

Limewire itself isn't illegal. Download copyrighted stuff is (in the US).

Limewire itself doesn't cause viruses. Being stupid and downloading viruses do.

Read my article here to learn how to recognize viruses:
