Alright, I am about 5'2 , and I weigh over 150. Yes I know I need to lose weight. But here is my question,
- I have a treadmill, and I was wondering If I ran about an hour everyday on it, would I lose weight ?
- I'm looking to lose all of it in my legs & stomach.
- I DON'T eat healthy. I don't like salads or most healthy food, so don't tell me to eat healthy.
- Sits up never seem to work for me. But I do them probably three times a week.
- Please help me here. I don't have enough money to go buy a new machine to work out with, and cardio I could try but I don't think I will enjoy it.
Please answer all of my questions. Thanks in advance.

If your body isn't used to running for that long, don't push yourself, or you'll end up aching the next day. Your mindset also plays a role in losing weight, if you're not determined to do so, and you're watching TV while doing it, you'll be distracted and you won't lose as much as you'd like, because once you're done you'll be like screw it. If you are determined, you'll be able to push yourself to do more.
Your diet is important in losing weight, since like the others said, you need to lose more than you eat. You can calculate your BMR to know how much your calories your body naturally burns. If you eat junk foods/soda etc. (I don't really know what you define "healthy" as) you're not going to be able to lose weight, because of the unhealthy fats + amount of calories. Even if you cut it down to 3 meals a day, your body will still get hungry, and you'll want more. You're supposed to eat 5 small meals a day.
Sit ups do work, but you build muscle under the fat, which ends up where you may weigh more or look bigger. Cardio will help you burn the fat + it'll burn faster because of the muscle. [ jchu's advice column | Ask jchu A Question ]

Your treadmill idea sounds great. If you ran an hour on your treadmill everyday, you would most definitley lose weight. As far as the situps go, keep doing them. They actually are working (even if you can't tell). Doing situps does not burn off fat, it builds muscle. Even if the results aren't visable, they are probably still happening (provided you are doing the situps correctly).
Also, it's good that you know what you would not enjoy. It's really important when trying to get fit that you do not attempt to lose weight in a way that is not comfortable for you. This should all be about having fun making your body healthier.
That being said, it is unfortunate that you don't like healthy foods, because it obviously helps to eat them when attempting to be healthier. Still, there are alternatives - why not focus instead on making sure you drink eight glasses of whater a day? This will help to fill you up with something that is good for you, without forcing you to eat foods you don't like.
JennyHumphreyx3 answered Saturday July 19 2008, 9:14 am: i have the same problem. haha. i need to lose weight. lol
anyway first i started our running a mile every other day and gradually, everyday. remember to always stretch before and after. you should also do sit ups every other day.
i know you dont like eating healthy but your gonna have to if you want to lose weight. exercise alone will not work. just try cutting down on the sugar and junk food. think of it as putting fat into your body because... well... it literally is putting fat into your body.
also try doing leg lifts, calf lifts and squatting for your legs. like i said, i have really really big thighs and this is working for me.
hope i helped =] [ JennyHumphreyx3's advice column | Ask JennyHumphreyx3 A Question ]
MistressSlipknot answered Saturday July 12 2008, 10:09 pm: This is based on my own knowledge and advice a lot of people give me. But thats not too big. Not in my opinon anyways. It also depends on your age though as well.
-Well, the treadmill should help your legs gain muscle and lose the tummy weight as well. An hour should be plenty of time. But instead of everyday, cut it down to maybe three times.
Also, you can go a little without soda cant you? Because if you cut down and start drinking a LOT of water (or just when youre thirsty) then you can lose a lot, and it can even clear your skin up as well. Salads dont help you lose weight, those can make you gain a lot of weight because of the amount of fat in it. Instead, eat a nice breakfast, maybe one sandwich during lunch, then dinner. If you get hungry any time between any of the three major meals, you can always eat one fruit or a small snack. (read the back for details), try things that are low in carbs, calories and sugars... im probably missing a few, but just be careful what you eat. Oh, and dont eat when you are full or until you are full. This also helps with weight gain, and try to eat before 8:00 or 7:00pm. One more thing, if you try to cut meals down, this should work wonders as well.
-Sit ups will definitely help the stomach weight and for you. You're doing wonderful with these.

best.
Yes you should lose wight being on a treadmill
for an hour. Don't start with running though.
Try walking for a while. You don't really
burn that many more calories running. So walk.
Walk faster once you don't tire out any more.
Sit a book or magazine up so you can read.
Listen to music or watch TV. Keep it from being boring.
You can't lose weight in just certain areas.
You will lose weight everywhere. Don't worry.
You will look great. It will be easier to
do leg lifts or toning exercise once you
take off some weight.
Ok I won't tell you to eat healthy! Just
eat smaller portions and don't pig out.
Especially fatty foods or sweets.
3 times a week should be fine for sit ups.
They will get easier as you lose weight
and will help tone stomach muscles.
Cardio is easy. Put on some music and
practice some dance moves. Basically
just keep moving! dancing is an excellent
cardio exercise. I personally like
Richard Simmons Sweating to the oldies
tapes. Might be able to find them in CD
form. They are fun and the music is great!
But you don't need them. Make up your own
dances and have fun!
