Hey! My name is Lindsay. I'm seventeen, and a senior at Arcadia High School in Arizona. I'm relatively shy, but as soon as you get to know me, I think I'm fairly obnoxious. I've been part of Advicenators for a while, but I took a break, and now I'm trying to remember how I did everything. I'm still getting used to the advertisements, but that will wear off soon.

I'm extremely into music. I'm into little indie bands, as well as old school Green Day, The Beatles, and other punk and classic rock. I play the cello, and I really am starting to like classical music more and more. It really doesn't suck. You should listen sometime.

I try to give fair advice. Only a few times do I ever get responses in which the asker dosen't like what I say. I really like to read relationships stuff, which works well, because there's more Love Life and Relationships questions on here than anything else. If you have a problem, feel free to ask me a private question.

I suggest downloading a font from dafont.com
and using it in Paint or Photoshop with the text you want using the text tool over the image.

I'm trying to find something outside of just going to school.I don't like the social aspect of it and I hate all of my teacher's methods.In fact,I'd feel better just teaching myself.Other than dropping out or being homeschooled,what are some alternatives?

If you are talking about college, you can take classes online.

A lot of schools allow students to take classes online. And there are plenty of online high schools available.

If you're middle school or earlier, I'm sorry, but I don't think that you're going to avoid school.

You can use http://hypem.com.
It searches music blogs for posts.
You can usually find good covers, and amazing indie tracks.
And some mainstream, if that's what you're into.

Alright well in my piano music sheet here this bar is in 4/4 time.

In treble there are two sets of triplets (quarter notes), so six notes then in all.
In bass there are just four quarter notes.

I'm not sure how you would play this rhythm wise.

Hmm it's a funny looking drawing. But I'm guessing that you connect the first and last notes in the triplet to two quarter notes.

How would you play this. Where do you play the quarter notes? In between the notes in treble or with them?

You play the first quarter note with the triplet, and the third one as well, but you play the 2nd and 4th quarter notes between the 2nd and 3rd triplets.

I have a verizon cellphone, and ive heard that you can send pictures to "pix place" and it doesnt cost anything? Is this true? And how does pix place work? Thanks =]

You can send pix to "Pixplace" without charge. This uploads the photos to a website (https://www.vzwpix.com/login.do) where you login with your phone number and a password that you create the first time you login.
After you've successfully logged in, I usually go to "Galleries" at the top, and you can see all the photos that you have uploaded to the site.

From there, you can edit your pictures and change settings, and send the edited photo back to your phone.

All of this is free. =]

ok so i accedentally (sp?) ERASED my whole music library, and itunes library, but i still have all the music (like 4000 songs) on my ipod! so how do i get my music from the ipod backinto the itunes library AND back to my music folder? (i'd try experimenting to find my way, but its too risky, what if it somehow gets deleted frm my ipod too, then i've lost all my music, and i'd have to download 4000 songs all over again, probably forgetting my favorite ones) so any help?

You can find free transfer software on the internet. Just look up "Sharepod" on Google.
Usually it's free, but a little riskier.
If you have $40, you can buy one that usually works better and isn't quite as confusing.

ok so basically im a lazy butt. haha. i dont want to sit in front of the computer for 5 hours uploading 200 songs to get the codes to make a marquee on myspace. so basically si htere a place where i can just drag the photos and get the codes? besides photobucket.

Photobucket has the option of selecting all the boxes, and then going down to the bottom and generating an HTML/IMG code for them all.
You can copy the simplest of these codes and add the marquee tags to the beginning and end, and waalaa, you have an instant marquee.

I got a new laptop for Christmas that has a wireless internet connection.
The signal is pretty strong and up until now it's worked fine at a good speed. However, over the past couple of days the internet has suddenly got much slower and it's getting really irritating.
I tried running a disk cleanup, clearing the cache, deleting any unecessary programs and defragmenting to see if it made any difference - which it did for a short while - but it's still overly slow.
Does anyone know what the problem is or how I can speed the internet back up?
I use Internet Explorer 7 if that helps.

It might be your internet connection.
Is your router connected mainly to a desktop?
If it is, if someone is using the desktop at the same time as you, it might slow it down.
Also, because it's a holiday weekend, there are more users on servers. People have more time, and generally everyone's internet goes much slower on holiday weekends. (Mine does.)

What does it mean when you are in a certain key when you are playing off sheet music, and how do you know which key you are in?

When you look at the beginning of each line, you can see the clef you're playing in, and how many sharps or flats are in the key signature.
The amount of sharps or flats tells you what key you are in.

That's a picture of the key signatures.
No flats or sharps starts in C Major. I wouldn't worry about minor keys if I were you, concentrate on the Major ones.

But it helps me to remember that it starts on C, and it has a pattern that goes B E A D G C F.

For instance:
C no sharps/flats
G one sharp
D two sharps
A three sharps
E four sharps
B five sharps
F six sharps
and then C# is all 7 sharps.

And:

C no sharps/flats
F one flat
Bb two flats
Eb three flats
Ab four flats
Db five flats
Gb six flats
Cb all seven flats.

You're welcome to ask me more questions if you don't understand. I think it's much easier to understand if you ask a music teacher in person.

Do you have any classes together? It's really easy to say something about school. Even if you're not in the same class period.
You could say "Ugh! The homework for *insert teacher name here* was so hard last night!"
BIG MAJOR ADVICE:(((Only if the homework actually was annoying. Don't be a ditz with that line. For instance, if the homework was just a paragraph about your favorite TV show and you say to him that you thought it was hard, he'll think you're stupid.)))

Once he's caught on that you only talk to him about how annoying homework is, you should be able to move on to deeper and better topics.

I'm going to be a freshman next year and I'm thinking i want to be on the junior varsity swim team. There's just one problem...I've never been involved in competitive swimming and i really don't know what it's like. I DO enjoy swimming and I know all the the strokes. Right now i'm working on my fitness and getting in shape. But I was wondering what it's like to be on a school swim team (especially how junior varsity differs from varsity) and what I should expect when I try out and if I make the team. I also want to know if I can meet the expectations an average team might have; I'd hate to look like a freak who doesn't know what I'm doing when I try out!

If you've never been on a swimteam before, that's alright. Most high schools have Freshman teams that only freshman can be on for this purpose.

If your school doesn't have one of these freshman teams, you can try out for JV. JV is usually like the set up for varsity. It's usually composed of underclassmen like yourself, and it's much less competitive.

All you have to do is be friendly, and be yourself.
It might be hard to not allow things to go further, but you know that what happened is in the past, and there's no reason you two can't have a future as friends. Just say "Hey, how's it going?" Once in a while. He won't think you're creepy, just that you're trying to be nice.
Be yourself.
(And don't tell him that his girlfriend doesn't like him. He'll think you're jealous and that you're lying and he won't trust you.)

is there anything you can use to scrunch or wave your hair and it won't make your hair look crunchy?

You can use a bristled curling iron and let it wave your hair. Usually you can get them at Walgreens.
If you have naturally wavy hair, let it dry naturally.
You could also try scrunching your hair while its wet, with no product, and then use hairsprau to hold it there WHEN IT'S DRY. If you put on the hairspray when your hair is wet, you might get crunchy.

in brand new, who sings usually? I know jesse is like a lead singer but he sounds diffenert alot. if someone can tell me who else sings.

also if any chicago shows (i know they are playing 2 in march) are sold out?

I'm pretty sure that Jesse is the only one that sings, but I know the rest of them do backup vocals all the time.
They might have edited it so that you can hear one of the others more at a specific time in a song. Like they drowned out Jesse's voice.
With editing equipment, you never know anymore.

k, so my friend thats a girl(not my gf) was going out with a guy that she didnt really like. Then her bf found out that she liked another guy, but didnt do anything about it and he let her know that he knew. Later into the relationship she didnt want to be with him anymore and they broke up. She then hooked up with the other guy that she liked and now the guy she used to go out with h8s her and is not talking to her. Also the two guys,i think are still friends.

I don't get what you're asking. If it's "What should I tell my friend?" then you should say:

You shouldn't go out with someone you don't like, it's mean and it hurts people's feelings. You should also tell her that she should be dating less because it doesn't sound like she's being fair to anyone about any of the relationships that she's in.
