"People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone." - Audrey Hepburn

I came to this site for advice about a man and love. That very question turned my entire world around and I have had my eyes opened to things I never noticed before.

I've stayed here so that I can share the knowledge I do have. I know I'm not changing the world but I do hope that I spark others to open their eyes.

"The only thing to do with good advice is pass it on. It is never any use to oneself." - Oscar Wilde

So, if you learn something from what I say then repeat it to someone else who can use it.

I hope that if you see an answer of mine that you enjoy it will inspire you to go out of your way to give good, solid information. Provide links for further information, detail your responses, encourage people to seek out professionals when it's needed, and stop sugar-coating responses and just say the truth.

I hope that even if you absolutely hate my answer that it'll kick start your brain. Hopefully you'll begin taking your time to respond instead of hurried answers that are useless to an already confused person.

why do we test food for starch (link)
Starch is a high calorie food substance that converts to sugar during the digestion process. This creates a concern for people who are observing a low calorie diet and have problems with insulin (such as diabetics). Since starch becomes glucose when broken down and is synthesized in the liver and kidneys it can be difficult for some people with liver and/or kidney problems to consume starch without negative side effects.

Because of these basic health concerns regarding eating habits, you may want to test different foods and fruits to determine if they contain starch and estimate their relative starch contents.

Studies show that starch is white, odorless, tasteless carbohydrate powder soluble in cold water. Because of this, it's quite easy to do a quick test to see if a food probably contains starches or a high amount of starch.

Starch is made in green plants by photosynthesis, and is one of the main forms in which plants store food. Animals ingest starch from plants and store it as glycogen. Both plants and animals convert starch to glucose when energy is needed, such as cellular respiration. Glucose is a simple sugar and is helpful for energy boosts.

Ok i just got thsis camera and it says it has a fisheye effect on it but i dont know where to go to get it do do the effect...anyone know thatd be great! (link)
First, I'd like to say that the fisheye effect is only for taking the pictures or photos but not during video capture. Just keep that one in mind if that is specifically what you were asking about.

Now, I don't own this so I'm doing a little research here. This one girl says you're going to have to click the middle button and select over to get to a second column of features. There you can select the "Program" option. The fisheye effect (as well as the miniature effect) and a long list of other options are listed so it might take a minute to locate it.

This is the review that kind-of shows that:

I think this is in the wrong category, but anywho I just got my industrial pierced today and I was wandering what the best way to take care of it is, and how long it takes to heal. I have H2Ocean cleaning spray too.
Thanks. (: (link)
Use a saline solution (in this case you can use your H2Ocean) on it twice a day to remove crusty bits with a clean q-tip but do not touch the piercing with dirty hands. Do not move the piercing excessively (your skin will NOT grow to the bar contrary to popular belief).

This particular piercing takes about 1 year to fully heal from the inside and out. This is mainly because there are usually two puncture wounds instead of one and that does reduce the healing process speed of your body. This piercing is pretty "extreme" for you body to handle properly and is prone to getting dirt put not the wounds from your hair, sweat, and skin secretions. This part is also laid upon during sleep and tugged on quite a bit, in general. If you're lucky, healthy, and take care of you body (lots of water, vitamins, exercise, proper eating habits, etc) then the piercing can heal in 6 months time.

So, you're looking at somewhere between 6 months and 1 year healing time. You probably won't be so "lucky" so expect 1 year since it's pretty typical.

During this healing process you don't want to get any more piercings. If you get a third piercing (because this piercing has TWO puncture wounds so that is, technically, two piercings) you will slow down your healing process on all of the piercings. Your body is more prone to infection then. You just don't want to do it.

Just for note, you might not want to use "I just got my industrial pierced" because there is no such thing on the human body as an industrial. You actually got your upper ear cartilage pierced. Technically, if you want to get into it, you actually got TWO piercings and are only using one bar for those. You got something called the anti-helix piercing and the helix piercing and are using an industrial barbell in those holes.

Do not remove the barbell for 1 full year so that the healing can continue. Changing the barbell--no matter how sanitary you think you are--will introduce new bacteria, dirt, and germs tot he wounds. It will also actually hurt a bit of the freshly healed areas within the wounds, prolonging the healing process even further. Just don't do it. If you absolutely must then see your piercer again so that they can autoclave the new jewelry and sanitize everything right. They can also get a good position to reduce the damage done when replacing the barbell.

Do not ever, ever, EVER use alcohol or peroxide on your piercings. If they become infected you keep using the saline water and you see your piercer for further instructions. NEVER use alcohol or peroxide. Both of those substances will cause more scar tissue and further healing time. They will damage live and dead cells. They will kill good and bad bacterias. Just don't do it.

Keep your hands away.
Keep your hair pulled away.
Wash it twice a day. Three times is the most you should EVER wash it in one day.
Avoid using soap, alcohol, or peroxide on the wounds.
Do not change the jewelery or mess with it.

For about 1 year.

Next time you choose to get a piercing please, please, PLEASE do some research BEFORE getting it done. If you had known about a 1 year healing time (and having to avoid getting other piercings in that time, dishing out money for saline solutions, and not being able to change the barbell) then you MIGHT have reconsidered this piercing at this time in your life. I've had about 17-ish piercings and I cannot stress the importance of reading BEFORE you get the piercing enough. You have to think about the future sometimes, you know ;)

I played this game last year, I think, called Dungeon Runners. It was a great MMORPG and was really funny to play because they "made fun" of a lot of things, including World of WarCraft. Anyway, I just tried to go to the Dungeon Runners website and it just sends me to NCSoft site instead. What happened to the game? I miss my awesome Bling Gnome! :p (link)
Pretty basic, really.

Dungeon Runners wasn't making enough cash for the makers. The production team had been dwindled down. The product wasn't selling as well as they were hoping. It was just time to call it quits and work on another project that might be more worthy of their time.

This happens with a lot of great games, stores, and even dining places. Sometimes good things just don't fly as much as the makers hope and they're disappointed at the small revenue. Sometimes the project is just ended and the creators move onto a new project. It happens.

My friend gave me a thing of Velveeta cheese today because she accidentally bought a second box of it when she already had some at home. I accepted it but I've never eaten it. I know it's a processed cheese, obviously, but what are some things I can eat with this Velveeta? (link)
It makes pretty tasty broccoli and cheese. Just cook the broccoli as normal and cut a bit of the cheese into the pot after so that it warms and melts over the veggie.

It also makes delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. Make a grilled cheese as you usually do with the melted butter in a pan and frying the bread on it. Slide some Velveeta in between the slices and voila!

It's great if you mix some of your favorite salsa with it and heat it up for a good dip for plain chips. I suppose you could just heat this up in the microwave for something quick and easy.

Think of what you'd normally use melted cheeses in and just try it out. Instead of a slice of American cheese try a thinly sliced piece of Velveeta on things like hamburgers. There are other dishes like cheese soup, cheesy potatoes and variations (ie: potatoes au gratin), various casseroles, lasagna, potato soup, baked potatoes, grits and cheese, bean dips, various Mexican inspired dishes and foods like enchiladas and quesadillas, and even various chili recipes that you can incorporate Velveeta cheese into pretty easily.

This is a REALLY weird question but bear with me here. I know this guy at school and he's totally gay, queer, homosexual, or whatever you want to label him as. Today we were talking about sex stuff and he was, of course, talking about guys he's been with and whatnot. I'm curious about something but I'm NOT going to ask him. The same stuff that turns me on (I'm a GIRL) turns him on, right? Or does he still get hardons when he sees a naked woman? I'm just wondering really it won't change my friendship with him but I don't want to assume he thinks like me if he doesn't? Get me? (link)
I think what you mean to ask is: Does this guy get turned on by male or female bodies?

If he's homosexual then he is probably turned on by only males or people of the same gender. He probably doesn't get much pleasure from seeing naked females; however, it is possible he does enjoy looking at naked females though has no sexual attraction to them.

Now, it could be very different from what you like about men. You may like, say, brown hair and big, strong arms with muscle. He may like blonds with thin frames.

The best bet is to just ask him if you're really curious. It's likely he won't say anything too out of line that would be seriously disgusting.

So, your answer is yes and no. Yes, he does like guys and is probably physically attracted to men. No, he doesn't necessarily enjoy the same things you do when looking at what you consider an attractive man. It's part of being human :)

how do you go about getting tested for herpes? there's a Teen Focus in my town.. is that what that's for? how much does it cost [no health insurance] and how long will it take to get the results back? i dont wanna go to my family doctor though.

a week ago i kissed this guy ONE time that i later found out has stage 2 herpes, and my throat has been a little sore lately, so i'm freaking out.
however after that i kissed another guy who i'm talking to, for the past 5 or so days and he went to his friends mom who's a physician to get his mouth checked out and she said he's clean and told him that i should be too even though she didn't see me. i'm really scared though, should i be worried? (link)
Go to your regular doctor, your local health clinic, or your university clinic and request a test for herpes.

Most STD tests don't even include herpes now, believe it or not, because it is entirely too common.

If you experience a break out (any type of sore, preferably open when you place the appointment) they will do a little swab. Otherwise, it'll be you giving some blood.

Most local clinics will do it for free if you're low income and/or a student. I had my STD tests done for free. The only catch was that I had to list what I wanted to be tested for so I made the list before I called for an appointment and then brought it in when I came.

Give a few calls and explain that you really would like to have a test done.

Yes, you can get the disease by one kiss. I contract HSV-1 by eating/drinking after my mother as a child. We never even kissed on the lips. Ever.

No herpes (hsv-1 or hsv-2) can be cured, treated, or made to just disappear. It's within the blood and will never be healed so if you did experience an outbreak now then expect one some other time in your life (some people go years without breakouts though).

Iv been having a problem with my wife there is no sex at all for a year straight and its driving me further and further away from her .I do love her but she won't provide me my needs as a husband .iv talked to her about it over and over again and shw tells me the same thing .it hurt me ! To have sex and to me I don't belive what she tells me so iv been talking to this other woman who knows my situation and wants me to have sex with her but I haven't done nothing with her yet because I feel guilty just talking to her .I know its not right and I surely not a player but what do I do sex and romance is everything to me I can't go on like this but I'm so confused what am I doing! I must be crazzy to even think about seeing another woman but no sex makes me fell rejected (link)
Couple's counseling.

Lots of couple's therapy.

Don't just walk out on your wife like this. There is a reason why she isn't being responsive. It could be something you're doing, you've done, or something completely unrelated to the marriage.

Instead of taking a step back by talking to another woman you should take a step forward. Talk with your wife. Tell her you'd like to get couple's counseling together very soon. Do some research and find help locally. Go to the meetings. Talk. Open up. Listen. Respond.

You know it's wrong to talk to the other woman so cut off all contact now while you can. I've seen the end result of this. If you have never seen the movie Fatal Attraction then you need to. I saw that happen in real life. You can destroy your marriage completely. You can hurt the other woman. You can damage your wife's self-esteem. Stop talking to this other woman immediately. Cut off all contact. Change your email addresses, messenger names, Facebook account, or however you're talking to her and NEVER think twice of her.

Counseling is how you can heal your marriage and make this better.

If you're not willing to do that then you need to confront your wife right now and tell her that you need to leave. You need to be open and honest about this situation. If it's gotten so bad that you no longer can give her everything you have to offer and have turned to another woman for affection then it's either counseling or leave. Your decision.

When are you suppose to take ovulation tests? Does it have to be during your menstural cycle? If its on the Day 5 or 6 cycle what if your period is light, or your almost off? (link)
For the most accurate reading you take them every single day of your menstrual cycle except when you're having your period. It's much like a pregnancy test in that you'll just put a little urine on the strip and wait so many minutes for the results. The ones I took showed a purple line if I was ovulating and no line at all if I wasn't.

For the best results to figure out when you usually ovulate you should take these tests for 6 months straight.

You can find the over-the-counter tests in a variety of "sizes" in that some will be 7 tests online (for those women who are nearing the end of the 6 month term, usually) or up to 20 tests. Go with the one with the most in it so you can test every day. After the first few months you should be able to dwindle the day you ovulate down to about a weeks time and then you can start purchasing the boxes with less tests, if you get the idea.

So, no testing when you're on your period.

Test every day you're not on your period.

Use your first morning urine.

Ok, I totally love this Michael Grimm from the America's Got Talent show. He's handsome and so talented. He also has manners! Wow.

Anyway, I'm not obsessed with him or anything but I really loved him performance on stage. Is the song he sang an original? Like, did Michael Grimm write the song he sang on America's Got Talent? What's that song called anyway? THANKSSS! (link)
His audition performance for AGT was actually a song called "You Don't Know Me" by Jann Arden. He's done the song a few times, from what I am aware, with other singers (like McKenna Medley, if you know her). In my personal opinion, I think his first performance was the best song he's chosen to sing--but that's just me! :)

He's also sang other songs that are fairly popular. His voice is very soulful so he does well singing the blues. He's good though, you're right.

So, in order of appearance on the America's Got Talent television show, Michael Grimm performed:

"You Don't Know Me" by Jann Arden

"Try a Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding

"Tired of Being Alone" by Al Green

"You Can Leave Your Hat On" by Joe Cocker

"Let's Stay Together" by Al Green

"When a Man Loves a Woman" by Percy Sledge

I watch AGT like religiously and I love, love, love Michael Grimm on there. I really want him to win because his vocals and his talent are just amazing. Anyways, he's sang a lot of really good songs. I saw him last night, too, and I was curious about like the song list he's sang. What songs has Michael Grimm sang on the America's Got Talent (season 5)? THNX (link)

I get this white stuff stuck on my pussy lips pretty often. It reminds me of something I saw about the Vagina Monologues if you know what I'm talking about. It's not infection is what I'm saying. It's just this build up of my natural juices dried or whatever. Anyway I want to be clean because my gf is coming over tonight and you get the idea. How can I keep my pussy clean and washed right? Maybe like smell less smelly? k (link)
Water, really.

Soap shouldn't be put into the vagina at all because it will disrupt the natural balance of things. Your body naturally cleans itself all the time.

Your dried discharge is that. It happens. Make sure to shower at least once a day and take a wet washcloth (only water) to wipe around the outer bits of your vagina where you're talking about. The washcloth will help to wipe off the buildup.

Some women just need to shower more than once a day if something like this becomes a problem. You'd probably get the most "benefit" from that by showering when you got up and right before you went to bed.

If you're concerned that it may not be normal then you should talk with your doctor. If you have odd odor or heavy discharge suddenly then it's time to talk with your gynecologist about infections.

So, anyway, simply wipe off your vagina parts in the shower every day with a wet washcloth. Don't wipe too hard since you don't want to hurt yourself. If you haven't been cleaning for awhile it might be a little harder for things to come off but just relax and try again the next time you bathe. Which, I would assume, bathing would probably help you remove it if it's dried, as you say it is.

No soap. Just water.

I have a Dell inspiron 1525 labtop i got it back in
2008 just today i realized where the battery light is it's flashing blue then orange what exactly does
that mean? It's the first time this has happened the
warranty on the labtop has expired the icon where the battery is says it's fully charged 100% why is
flashing orange?

What can i do to make it stop? I don't think i can
buy a whole new battery... (link)
I am absolutely not a computer tech but I've noticed nobody else chose to answer this question for you. I did a little reading and it appears to be as basic as this:

Your battery is going bad.

Something about it not holding the charge as good any more. The blinking is alerting you that the battery needs to be replaced. From the information I have gathered, this is an extremely common problem for Dell Inspiron 1525 laptops. I read at one place that this means your battery can only charge 15% of what it should be, but I can't vouch if that information is true or not.

If your computer is plugged then your battery charge shouldn't matter too much. You may notice that if you unplug it from the outlet and do what you normally would then your battery will begin to die relatively quickly.

You will need to save for a new battery or ditch the computer and find one that is usable.

Doing a quick search on Amazon for "Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop Battery" is going to get you some good deals. At right around $40 you can solve this problem before you have to go without the 'net.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Dell+Inspiron+1525+Laptop+Battery&x=18&y=16

Batteries just don't last forever, unfortunately, and there will always come a time where you will need to afford a new battery for a laptop computer. While 2008 wasn't too long ago, laptops tend to not be equipped with the best batteries for them, as far as I have seen.

If you are in doubt then find the user manual that came with the computer and see what it says about orange flashing lights. Chances are, it's the battery indicator. You can also try to remove the battery and then reinsert it into the laptop, but that probably won't really do any good since it's connecting fine with the computer but just not holding the right amount of charge.

It may eventually give you the message of "plugged in, not charging" when the battery does die off too much to run the computer. You may end up getting the "Critical Battery Error" in the end, meaning the battery is completely dead, for the most part.

I say dish out the $40 if you can afford it right now and get this settled. If not, you might want to look into getting a replacement computer, especially if you don't take the laptop on the go very often. Desktops are quite affordable, in my opinion, and seem to last longer for various reasons.

Why are you such an asshole? The female is no longer a virgin, when her hymen is popped by the insertion of a males' penis. You can pop it during fingering and maybe in oral. But until it is popped during penile-vaginal intercourse she is still a virgin. (link)
Well, personally, I don't think I'm an asshole; however, I'm sure I do come off as that many times. Online my tone tends to be different in person. Sometimes I'm just too "formal" in my typing, but when I try to "dumb it down" then I sound like an idiot most of the time. Hmm...

Virginity is, for the most part, the hymen in most culture.

Do you think the Virgin Mary didn't have a hymen?

Did you know that many, many, MANY cultures actually look at a woman's vagina to visibly see a hymen before they will say she is clean and fit for a holy marriage?

Women have even been killed because they didn't have an intact hymen in particular societies. They were believed to have been unfaithful and not pure.

I'd like to go with what the "norm" is for virginity. If people can be killed because they lack a hymen (and what the culture considers the visible sign of virginity) then there isn't anything I can do about that. I am not going to stand up and preach to a culture who believes a woman is unclean because she popped her cherry during masturbation before she got married. That would be ridiculous.

Consider the world as a whole before making a decision like this.

It's like many girls say, "I'm a virgin!" but they've had anal sex, oral sex, and mutual masturbation over 100 times. Do you think that person would be considered clean, holy, pure, or similar to The Virgin Mary?

I don't know about you but I really, truly do not believe Jesus' mother had anal sex but still considered herself to be a virgin.

See what I'm saying?

It's all in how you look at it. You, the youth culture of America, may believe that a person is sexually clean until they have penetrative sex. The rest of the world does not see it that way at all, and I have to agree in many aspects of that. I don't believe someone should be murdered though.

The hymen is actually not as easily broken as many people say it is. It's thin and fairly elastic when the woman is young. I really cannot see horseback riding solely popping hundreds of girls' hymens like much of the media claims. I mean, people ALWAYS list horseback riding one of the reasons why someone might not have a hymen. Think about it. Ever rode a horse and then noticed blood in your panties? I am curious how many girls have and I'd bet money that it isn't as common as the media has led people to believe.

In any sense, virginity, to me, is sexual purity.

In most culture that is what virginity is.

If you're masturbating and sticking things into your vagina then you're not really considered sexually pure. If you're having anal sex then you're not sexually pure. If you're giving blowjobs, being eaten out, or engaging in other various sexual activities then you are absolutely not sexually pure.

Virginity = sexual purity

Sexual purity = exactly what it says

The hymen is, typically, broken doing some sort of sexual activity. This would mean most women that have no hymen/broken hymens have engaged in some sort of sexual conduct. Ta-da. My reasoning.

Okay, so I am 18f. When I was about 4 I had brain bleeds and because of this, when I was 17 I started having minor epilepsy. I would just blank out for about 10 seconds and basically I was staring into space for a moment. Now, because of this I have had brain surgery over a month ago, I am completely fine now. Heres my problem, I used to drive and one time I fell asleep at the wheel and now my mom is all like "you had a seizure and drove into the ditch" which is completely untrue. You are probly asking "how do you know?", but I know because before when I had seizures, I would get a feeling that one was coming on and then it would pass. I was seriously tired that day and I was just about to pull over when I fell asleep a second too soon. My mom doesn't believe me when I tell her the truth all the time, she just assumes what she wants. Then, I had my vehicle and I was driving on a grid road, the axle broke on me, and I rolled three times into the ditch and landed on the roof, I swear there was nothing I could do... thud the wheel just dropped and I was screwed. No, I didn't get hurt, I came out with not even a scratch. Now, I want another vehicle and my mom won't even let me buy my own. I have a broken foot and it would be convenient to have one, plus I would like to drive to see my boyfriend on weekends and be able to do things independantly and not have to ask to be driven somewhere all the time again. I always think that my mother just sees me as a medical statistic and never a person. Its been this way my whole life. How can I convince her that I am completely fine and a vehicle would help me get around easier?

(link)
Your mother won't let you purchase a vehicle?

Do you actually have the money--your OWN money--to buy it?

If not, then it's REALLY her financial situation.

If you've recently had a seizure or the doctor's found bleeding in the brain and that's why they did the recent surgery then, chances are, it's probably illegal for you to drive right now. Many epileptic people are unable to drive because you never know if some day you won't have that before signal.

I knew a guy in high school. His mother was our art teacher, actually. He was her only child. He was in good health. He had had seizures when he was a child but not in SO many years. One night he was driving to the hospital to work (he was a male nurse) and he had a random seizure. During it, he hit the gas and drove his car into an oncoming truck. He died that night.

This is a really serious matter. I know you want independence. I know you want to drive. What you say is not logical though.

With a broken foot--even if it's your left foot--you are impaired. Most people with a broke foot or leg are completely unable to drive until it heals.

You are not a medical statistic. You are a person. That's why people want to keep you safe. You aren't a lab rat. You're somebody's daughter. Somebody loves you. They want you safe.

Give it time.

If you must, have your mother take you to the DMV and explain the situation. I'd bet money they'd tell you that you were not legally allowed to drive right now. When my mother's best friend had brain surgery (she had a tumor) she was not allowed to operate a vehicle or any machine equipment for quite some time. It's just the rules to keep EVERYBODY safe. It's fair that way.

Your mother just cares about you. Really. Let your body heal. Give it some time. You've already had two accidents and you're still young. She doesn't want you to keep risking your life. So what if it takes another year before you can drive again, right? If you live until you're 70 then 1 year isn't anything, especially when it entails having to drive a vehicle around all over the place.

Relax. Take a deep breath. Everything is OK. Nobody is treating you unfairly. They just love you.

Give them some time. Give you some time. Give you body some time to heal.

I had sex with a friend last Thursday. He wore a condom
Then of course it broke, he told me he came a little. Then my two friends rushed me to walgreens to get plan b. Am I safe? Will I start my period? I'm paranoid as hell. I can't stop thinking about it and friends told me they took it and had their period. That's comforting n all but I'm scared and idk what to do!!!
I took it right away the plan b. I won't get preg... Right

Please help asap!!!!
Thx (link)
I read that plan B is about 75% effective for the average user. I'm not entirely sure how accurate that is at this moment. I know, for a fact, it isn't 100% effective though.

Nothing is 100% safe. Nothing can gaurentee you won't or can't get pregnant. You should never rely on just one method of pregnancy protection.

Most women typically have their periods soon after taking Plan B because the hormonal fluctation is so strong and unnatural that the body sends strong signals to expell the uterine lining fast.

It doesn't mean it is always effective though, of course.

If you're pregnant then you're pregnant and you'll have to take it from there. Chances are you probably aren't though since the condom was caught early after the tear and you took Plan B as soon as possible.

You still took a risk though.

Every time you have sex you take that risk. There will always be accidents and surprises. The human body was meant to reproduce so getting it to not do that goes against nature, really. It's pretty hard to just tell your body, "Ok, shut if off! No babies right now," when that's just what it does. It's like any other normal bodily function, really.

Next time be more prepared so you won't be as scared.

Talk about the possibilities with your partner ahead of time. Just in case.

Use a condom -- and spermicidal lubricant. Hormonal birth control pills are a good method to use as well.

Be smart. Be safe. Protect yourself. Sex might sound like fun now but when you have a 2 month old screaming at you in the middle of the night you will probably have second thoughts to that. You have the rest of your life to screw around (pun totally intended) so take extra precautions for your own health. Your own future.

You have ever right to be paranoid. From here you should start taking more precautions to protect yourself from pregnancy. Open up the lines of communication with your partner so that if you DO get pregnant by him you both will be on the same page and you can get some reassurance.

how do you curl your hair like amanda seyfried in chloe?

(i dont have a curling iron though, just a straightening one (link)
Oh, a large wave, sort-of.

Your best bet, first of all, is to talk to your hairdresser since they know your hair type already and know what your hair can do on it's own.

From there, you can take some large curlers (not hot). Wash your hair at night and put the curlers in your hair right after. Go directly to bed and sleep with them in. When you wake up, just unroll the curlers out and do a very light brush through your hair.

If that doesn't get your results then take a large barrel curling iron and curl the hair up as usual. Let it cool completely before you brush through it. You can usually buy a really cheap one of these at like walmart that you can use a few decent times. They aren't the best but they'll work in a jiffy if you're low on cash ;)

Sadly, you're not going to be able to do this with a straightener. You need curlers and/or a curling iron.

Here is a site:

http://shessmart.com/beauty/amanda-seyfrieds-hair/

And these are their step-by-step instructions to this beautiful hairstyle:

-- Part your hair with a deep side part.

-- Use different sized heated rollers in your hair (Jumbo hot rollers are great if you have lots of hair or want only large curls), rolling the hair up 1/3 of the way up. You don't want the curls to start at the top of your head.

-- When the heaters are cooled, let your hair out. Don't spray anything yet! Shake it. Run your fingers through it a bit and arrange it how you'd like it.

-- When hair has reached the look you'd like, cover face with your free hand as much as possible while spraying the curls. Also spray your part.

-- If you'd like, heat a bit of Aveda's Control Paste in-between your fingers and run it over the curls and your part for even more security of your hairs' hold.

I still suggest you speak with your hairstylist though. Some hair will hold this sort of thing while others just won't. Some will need product and some won't. It all depends.

so i'm a freshman in college and i think i might be interested in criminalogy. so i was just wondering if anyone on here was studying it and how did they like it? and what kind of jobs you can get and stuff. thanks. (link)
Criminology is a job in itself, basically. It's like going to school to become a science teacher. Sure, you might get qualified to do something else with the same schooling but, for the most part, your occupation ahead of you is to become a science teacher.

Here is a little more about criminology that you might be interested in:

http://www.unixl.com/dir/law_and_legal_studies/criminology_jobs/

"A criminologist may focus on crime prevention, the process of crime scene investigation, the process of criminal litigation or the process of criminal corrections. A criminologist may become a profiler who develops profiles of particular criminal activity by reviewing patterns of behavior among certain groups who commit particular crimes.

Criminologists may specialize in organizational research, victimology, corporate crime or juvenile justice. Some criminologists work with community initiatives, evaluation and policy projects with federal, state and local criminal justice agencies."

If you're thinking of what criminology is classified under then you probably meant forensic science. Here is some more information:

http://www.criminology.fsu.edu/faculty/nute/FScareers.html

A few simple Google searches brings up a ton of nifty information on criminology. This one is really just great in regards to jobs:

http://hubpages.com/hub/Careers-in-Criminology

"Criminology is the scientific study of crime, criminals, criminal behavior, and corrections. It also examines society's response to crime and to prevention of crime. Criminology includes the examination of evidence, hereditary and psychological causes of crime, various modes of investigation and conviction and the efficiencies of differing styles of punishment, rehabilitation, and corrections."

If I were you, I'd talk with the guidance counselor about this before taking the leap. Learning about crime and law can be pretty difficult for many people who aren't interested in those tidbits that lead up to their "dream" job in the end. It's like wanting to be a judge (which sounds really cool sometimes) but not wanting to learn about the legalities. So, in any way, you should definitely mark that down in your head. Your guidance counselor can actually help you...get this...GUIDE you through the process! ;) Seriously, he or she will know e-x-a-c-t-l-y what you're thinking about and can help steer you in the right direction. They will also know of people you can meet and talk to first-hand in person about becoming this sort of thing. That's the best way to do it.

Unfortunately, Advicenators is populated by mostly younger people--typically teenagers. Not many of them have even thought this far ahead in their "career" choices next. Somebody at your school will be able to help though.

how to date on this web site
(link)
Actually, there is no dating on Advicenators, for the most part. This is about giving advice, not being social. It's not like MySpace, FaceBook, or Twitter at all.

Think of it as a faceless Yahoo! Answers (only with better answers, of course).

You don't gather together and chat each other up, hoping to light a spark and hook-up next week.

You post a question.
You get some answers.
You move on with your new knowledge.

Now, you can make friends (which, I suppose, could lead to dating?) but you'd have to do that through the personal forums. Believe it or not, every Advicenator has his/her own personal forum here already.

Cux, a great user from this site, has listed a way for everyone to be able to access their own personal forum here:

http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=504815

That's pretty much it, really. If you came here looking for love then you've really came to the wrong place though :( It's just not a dating site.
