I'm of Arab descent. Earlier this evening, my girlfriend's sister asked me if when I marry my girl, will the dowery will be in goats.

I got pissed, and stormed out. And then my girl chases me down, and starts telling me that I should develop thicker skin if I'm to deal with her family, because they will make comments like that all the time, regardless.

The thing is, my girlfriend didn't use to condone comments like that, but then she went overseas for a year, and when she came back, it's like somehow I'm always wrong, and that I have to let her family disrespect me like that.

I'm not crazy because I got angry about that, right?

Your definetly not crazy, thats for sure. Im sure they didnt say it to hurt you, but it does hurt you. You should talk to your girlfriend about how it truely makes you feel, that you dont like it at all. Maybe occsionally its okay if its in a funny way. I'm Greek, French, and Italian, and I get jokes alot about one of those, sometimes I just have to laugh because I have to admit, they are pretty funny (sometimes.) Try not to look at the joke for the nationality, actually hear the joke for itself, and you may think its funny too. Also, you can take your girlfriend's sister's heritage, and say a joke or too about that :-) this way the love gets spread haha. But as for being out of line, I would say absolutely not. But like everything in life, there is a limit, and if they ever cross that limit, then thats when its time to have a serious talk, not only with your girlfriend, but with her sister. I am really sick but I don't know what is wrong with me. If anyone has ever had anything like this, please tell me!

First it started about 2 and 1/2 to 3 weeks ago. I work as a cashier in the local grocery store and they had put me on the register really close to the entrance. A draft was blowing in and within 20 minutes I had a sore throat.

Well, that sore throat stayed for a few days (~4 days or so). It suddenly had disappeared when I woke up one morning but my voice sounded HORRIBLE. My voice was all scratchy and went in and out all day long. This went on for another 4 days or so, but I had no pain with it. Well, it started to go away about the same time I had some sort of chest congestion happening. I felt like I had a lot of mucus in my chest so I bought some medicine to break it up. Then I proceeded to have a cough for a few days (4+), which I handled with medicine as well.

So, the cough goes away but I still felt a little sick for another couple of days. That feeling left me a few days ago and now, now I'm in terrible pain all over my body!

I don't have a sore throat. I don't have a crackly voice. I don't have a snotty nose or mucus congestion. I don't have a cough. I have no "symptoms" of a cold, the flu, or any other illness that is common. I had my period and this pain started like the last 2 days of my period, I'd guess.

My muscles hurt though. My joints hurt! It's like every single muscle in my body has been trampled. My joints and muscles are absolutely killing me, to the point where I called in sick to work one day. I stayed in and rested all day long that day but I was still just as sore. I've had two days in a row off since I called in sick and my body still aches.

The pain feels much like I've overextended EVERYTHING, but I have no idea how. I started the job about 2 months back and was only "really sore" like the first two weeks of it. The job gives me the normal sore-from-standing-all-day but the pain I'm having now is really, really bad and not like before.

So, my muscles AND my joints ache for no reason that I can find. Nothing is giving me relief either. Warm showers don't help. In my sleep I have to lay in a certain position to help lessen some of the pain (if I lay in certain positions it feels like I'm pulling a lot more muscles).

I haven't done any manual labor that should make me hurt like this. I haven't changed eating habits really (and I was taking vitamins up until yesterday--just in case they were causing some sort of inflammation). I've been drinking enough water. Heck, I have gotten plenty of sleep recently. The weather was weird for a few days--where it was really warm and now it's back REALLY cold again.

I thought maybe it was mono since I've never had mono but I don't have any other symptoms associated with mono.

Can anyone tell me what my cause me being sore like this all over and how I can fix it? Any idea what this could be? Is there anything I can take or do for relief?

I am no doctor, and I suggest you consult one as soon as you can so you can start to feel better, but in the meanwhile I suggest you stretch (even if it hurts, when I do it I start to feel better), use a heating pad and pillow and just lay down a warm soft surface such as a bed, and take some advil for the pain. I am thirteen years old and I am a girl. For those of you that have read my previous questions you know that I have a kind of interesting thing going on with the boy I like. If you haven't, I'll catch you up. So I have liked this boy (lets call him nick) for a while now we are good friends and we talk a lot, especially online. Recently though, he been blocking me on IM frequently and I couldn't really understand why. When I asked him about it he told me that his friends were really starting to bug him about us "being together" and he thought that maybe it had something to do with us talking so much. So that's why he kept blocking me, but what I don't understand his how his friends know we talk so much. Does this mean he has been disscussing me with his friends... And is this a good thing? After he told me this he claimed that he didn't care anymore. So the blocking stopped for awhile and I thought everything was fine, but I guess not because I just found out today that he blocked me again!!! I don't know what to think because if he doesnt like me like I like him and he's blocking me to get his friends to stop bugging him, then I can't really be mad at him can I? But what if he does like me? Should I accept this as an excuse? I really really like this boy but I don't know if its worth all this confusion. I really think he might like me... Ugh I am so confused, can anyone see what's going on??

I can tell you right now, your probably not going to like to hear this, but any guy that has a problem with what his friends say and any guy that blocks his own girlfriend on aim is not a true boyfriend. I know he might be nice, but I would wait for a really nice guy to come along that appreciates you. Besides, you are only thirteen, there are plenttyyyy of fish in the sea! :-) Not to menchon that he probably is talking about you to his guy friends (which is normal) but what is he saying exactaly? we dont know. You could always have a serious conversation about this too with him, to find out what is really going on, no lying. Cheating is not a good thing to do.ever. If I were you, I would explain to jesse that theres just no connection between you two anymore, I think he would rather that than finding out the hard way. Well thats a tricky and akward situation to be in. What I want you to do is set a date up with your best friend, just you and her alone to have a girls night out, and I want you to have a serious conversation with her about what happened and the whole situation. Listen to each other, you guys have been best friends longer than her ex has been your boyfriend. Also, I want you to take all of your problems that have similar situations, and flip them around. What I mean is, for this particular situation, put yourself in your friends shoes. Pretend that you are her, and she is you, your best friend is now going out with your ex, and you really feel upset and hurt by it, but you are going to just tell her that you are happy for her, because you are not going to start a fight by saying you hate it.

Hi, Im so glad you inboxed me! My boyfriend and I have been going out for 8 months. After we have phone conversations he does say I love you, and I say it back. The first time he said it to me I was very shocked and didnt know what to say, because I didn't love him, I just liked him. I realize that there are two types of saying the "L" word, one where you want somebody to know that you like them alot and care about them (the relationship im in right now,) and one where when you say it to the other person, you really really truely mean it with all your heart, and say it with a kind of passion (for engaged or married couples, or people that know they are destined for each other.)
But everyone forms their own oppinions, and I just want to let you know that you should ONLY do or say what is comfortable to YOU. If you are not comfortable with something, tell your boyfriend in a gentle way, but stick to your word; if he accepts that then he is a caring boyfriend who will understand you and take it slow. If he makes a huge ordeal about the situation, try calmly explaining to him that you are sorry, but you are just not comfortable yet.
For how much your boyfriend expects from you, dont expect too much, but expect he will pay for you for example: when you go to the movies, he will buy the ticket and the food. I always think its nice to share the cost (I dont want to feel like a ragdoll that cant pay for themself ahaha) so I will buy our food and he gets the ticket. I had talked to one of my guy friends, and they agree that its nice to have a girl pay occasionally, but they still want to feel "manly" :-)

Well my mom was married to my dad but decided to go with a woman that shes been with for almost a year now. I definetly do not get along with this girl and my mom hates when we fight. She threatned to hit me with objects today and swears at me consistantly. I really dont want to be anywhere near her but my mom is here. My mom isnt stupid i have no idea why she is sticking with this girl. they are fighting a little bit but i didnt want to call the cops today because there might be a conflict with my mom? i dont know what to do.

I know it must be very hard for you right now, but just understand that times are very hard for everyone. Is there any specific reason why you dont like your mom's girlfriend? And was there a specific reason to call the cops when they were fighting? I think you need to calmly sit down and have a serious conversation with your mom. Its probably a big misscommunication right now. Tell her that you love her, but tell her (calmly) how you really feel about her girlfriend. Re-assure her that you dont have a problem with her going out with a girl though, she may feel this is reason for the conflict. Also, let her know how you feel (once again calml) about when she threatens you. You need to remain calm and not get into an argument, because you need to have all communications open and free. my dog hershey just passed away. he lived a long life. he was 13 when he died. I'm so sad. he was the best dog ever. Aw, its okay, I know EXACTALY how you feel, except I actually had to put my dog to sleep. You just have to know, you gave Hershey unconditional love, and the best life he could ever have, a very fufilling and long life. Well lets just say that was a really broad statement on his part. If he's talking about boobs, all girls have them :-) haha. Is there anything unusual? I dont see why any guy would feel obligated to say that. It might have just been akward so he said something stupid in the spur of the moment. Well me and my gf our getting very stressed out and busy, and we dont know wut to do. do you?

It seems like you guys might not be hanging out and having personal time together very often, plan something where its all about you guys. You should surprise her by taking her somewhere she would really enjoy. Make sure you guys dont talk about how busy you have been lately,or anything that has been stressing you out. One of my friends wants myself and 2 other girls to go to a concert this weekend for her birthday. However, there is a Christmas party at one of my mom's friends house that i go to every year the same day as this concert. I did not make a commitment to go to the christmas party but it was kind of a given that I would go considering i go every year. My best friend says she can't go to the concert without me because she has a curefew and would have no where to stay after if I didn't go ( the plan was to let all the girls stay at my house if I decide to go). I don't have a big interest in going to the concert however i feel the need to go now because if i don't go, my best friend will not be allowed to go and they all need a place to stay. I know i will not have a good time.. i'm just in one of those depressed moods i guess. Any advice on how to make it fun? I have not even heard of the band or the bands playing with the main one.

I know its hard, but if you truely feel you will not have fun, why buy the tickets? You need to have a serious conversation with your friend. You can tell her that as much as you want to help her out with the concert, you can't because it would be wrong for you to miss the party. You go every year as a tradition, and it's a nice thing to do to spend time with your friends and family. If the party and concert work out with timing, you can always ask your friend to take a taxi with her friend to your house after the concert, and you can all stay at ur house afterwards. This way you get to go to your party and they go to their concert. Also, talk to your mom about it if you can, what does she feel about the situation? It might make her feel a little left out that your not going to be there. You will have the most fun doing what you want to do. And sometimes you have to think, would your friend do the same for you if you were in her shoes? ask your friend if she could get a ride to her other friends house for the night instead. There's this new club at school and I was thinking of joining but I didn't know when it started and I kind of forgot about it but I finally went on their THIRD meeting and on that first meeting of mine I ending up getting a ride home from my teacher who runs the club and it was pretty akward.

I've been missing club meetings since that one (I missed the meetings 3 times so far) but not because of that akward incident (very nice teacher so it's ok); the first meeting i had a doctor appointment and the second one I didn't have a ride so I just didn't go because I take the bus, and today's meeting I was working on a project assignment with a partner who is a guy so he is NOT allowed into my house according to the rules so I have to work with him at school.

And when i say that I don't have a ride, I mean that both my parents have 12 hour shift jobs and on just some inconvienent days for me, they both work in the morning shifts and won't be home until 7pm. I would take the city bus but not in the winter because it's so dark and I hear stories about girls walking at night and getting kidnapped, you know, etc.

I don't want my teacher to feel like I'm not going to the club anymore because of an akward incident but i haven't said anythign to hima nd when i can't make it, I don't even mention anything and he doens't talk to me about it in class so I feel like maybe he doesn't care?

I only showed up in one meeting so I don't think it really makes me a member but can members get kicked out of clubs (I never joined a club other than this before so I don't know).

P.S, any other inputs on how I can deal with this situation?

I am in the same situation you are haha! I suggest having a serious talk with your teacher, kindly explain to him that you really dont have enough time in the day (and you can also say that you have something else you need to get done after school.) You can always help out though, for example: my problem club is an animal rescue club. Although I cannot participate regularly, I told my teacher I would gladly donate various dog toys and food to help out, and I would do as much as I can. You can still stay in tact with the club, just not as often as you like. As for getting kicked out, I wouldn't think that you would be kicked out if your helping a little, I would think that you could only get kicked out if you were acting innopropriately and being a distraction. Anyone know what're some common reasons for losing hair and how to cure it? I know mine has a chance of being hereditary, because my mom loses hair a lot. But I've also been quite stressful lately, and haven't been getting a lot of nutrition and exercises. So...can those be the reasons, or could there be any other ones that I should be aware of? here are some treatments I have researched:

Minoxidil (a.k.a. Rogiane, the brand you ask about) is a liquid application applied to the scalp twice daily, which may stimulate hair growth and slow hair loss. Prices vary depending on where you get the product (online versus in a store, where you live, etc.). Studies indicate that (when compared to placebo) Rogaine does produce moderate growth of hair in 30-40% of people using it as directed.

Finasteride is a prescription medication taken daily (in pill form) to treat male pattern baldness. Some people prefer taking one pill a day rather than liquid applications which are messier and sometimes smell unpleasant.

Corticosteroids are monthly injections of cortisone. Corticosteriods may also be taken in pill, ointment, or cream forms, but these forms are found to be less effective than injections.

Surgical procedures exist, such as hair transplant or scalp reduction (in which the skin with hair still growing is stretched and part of the bald skin is removed).

Wigs and hairpieces are a less invasive treatment option.

It looks to me like you would need bangs first off, then:

1. Part your hair to make pigtails.

2. Take the first pig tail side, and twist it alot.

3. Spray it with some hairspray.

4. Take your twisted hair, and twist it into a round bun, then quickly tie a TIGHT alastic hair tie around it.

5. Spray repeatedly with more hairspray.

6. Repeat with the other side.

if you have curly hair, straighten it first, and if you have layers, then you might need gel or something that can make your layers not pop out when you are twisting your hair.
