Hey, I'm Samm and I'm 15-year-old freshman at Downingtown East High School. I've got a pretty average teenage life, except I'm in no way your average person. I doubt you'll ever meet someone exactly like me.



Feel free to drop one by in my inbox and I'll tell you what to do to the of my best ability in any situation. But remember, if it doesn't seem right, then don't do it. It's only my advice, not me telling you what to do.


PLEASE don't repeat questions. I appreciate all ratings and feedback, so please do it. It really gives me a good feel for how my advice is. Also, if you don't rate, and my advice is crap, I'd like to know so that I don't run the risk of telling someone to do that again.

I currently have long hair, I love having long hair, but what type of cute do you suggest me getting with it still being long. I will ask for a trim, but what else? I already have side bangs, I don't know whether I should get layers or not. Please advise.

If you have full hair, don't get layers because it will most likely make your hair with body to hair with fuzz. If you want long hair with a unique cut.. try getting it razored at the bottom.

so im 14/f and i got contacts like 2 days ago. and i start high school on tuesday. im gonna be a freshman anywho. i look like a total GEEK with my glasses on and the problem is i cant get my contacts in. but when other people put them in for me im okay. i can poke my eye and stuff but idk why i cant put contacts in. can some one give me any good tips on how you can put in your contacts?

You're starting high school and still use sentences such as ''I rate good''? Haha, okay.

Anyway.. I wear my contacts easily. It took me a REALLY long time to get it right, but I have it. I'll try my best to explain it.

Say you're putting in the contact on your right eye... Take your left hand (middle and pointer finger) and use it to hold your top eyelashes up. Use your right hand, pointer finger, to hold down your bottom eyelid. Use your right hand, middle finger, to place the contact directly onto the color part of your eye, not the white. Contacts are made to stick to the consistancy of the color/pupil part.

When you're trying to put in your contacts at first, spend only a half hour at a time. Otherwise your eyes will get irritated and sore. Impossible to poke your eyes after they're so sore.

Don't give up.. practice!

Well.. do any of these girls know that you like them? I think you should just follow your heart. Answer these questions:

Who makes you laugh the most?
Who do you connect with the most?
Who is the most confident?
Who is going to be there for you?
Who is going to respect your boundaries?
Who knows you the best?
Who understands you the most?
Who is going to be able to hang out?

Follow your heart. And if they're all super close and you don't want to break anyone's heart, you can find another girl. They're are plenty of young women out there just waiting to be discovered and loved.

Ride up? Well.. if you just got them, it feels like they're always waaaay too far up your ass. That's NOT supposed to happen. When you wear them, just make sure that you don't stick it up your ass when you put it on. Just wear it. Also, make sure they're not crooked. Good luck!

Flirt.. duh. The kid obviously knows that Other Girl is out of his reach, so basically.. he's not going to make a move on her until Other Girl's boyfriend dumps Other Girl. Basically.. just flirt.

Hi i got this kitten from this pet store called "Pets Galore" don't know exactly where it is and well all these kittens didn't look so good but this one was perky and stuff but she is very sick she has wringworm,earmites,eyeinfection and we got her about a week ago and we took her to the vet to get her checked out we were there twice and both times we bought medicine and she gave me wringworm ands it itches bad and the pets store where i got hetr has had problems before and we are tryin to shut them down becuase those kittens are sick to did i mention we spent almost 400$ in medicne and the kitten her name is patches and she is a sweet heart and i have 3 other cats and i think she made them sick and we can afford more medicine and my mom said if they are sick we will have to send ALL even the kitten to the pound and i love that little kitten and on the application of like when we bought her said they are NOT responsable for any vet bills after we leave the store and i bet if any othe r people have bought one of there kittens they are goin through the same thing do you have any idias on how to shut them down

No problem for the long story, otherwise I wouldn't have understood. I'm really sorry that you're going to have to loose all of your kittens. That's soo horrible.. That place HAS to be shut down! I have no clue how to do that, but I think that you should definately do a few things. First of all, bombard the store with tons of letters, e-mails, and complaints. Maybe you could get some of your friends go in (like a different friend once a day) and have them come up with some complaints about their cat or yours. They'll eventually get fed up. Maybe you could call your local heath department and request an inspection? I don't know. Sorry.. I hope I helped?

Okay. So I take it you have a crush. =D Here's the key. Don't be scared! Confidence really is the answer! To be a good kisser.. you just need practice. If he has a problem with your kissing.. and doesn't want to be with you for that.. than he's not as perfect as you think he is. Just remember to keep your breath fresh, don't completely open your mouth (gross) and follow his lead, him being more experienced than you. And don't expect too much from a first date, you don't want to get yourself over excited.

What are the physical advantages of having medium/dark brown? Do you think that it brings out features such as your eyes, skin, etc?

Medium/dark brown hair? I, personally, thinks it brings out your eyes if you have really dark eyes. It also, I think, makes your lips look redder. And most importantly, people won't call you a ditz before they even get to know you! Isn't that wonderful? God, I'm glad I'm not a blonde...

OK, this is embarrasing but i need help. I have whats called hyperhydrosis, which is persistent under-arm sweat. Like i can be reallyyyy cold, but i will still sweat. This makes me so self-concious, and all i wear is white t-shirts-cus it pretty much hides the sweat. Does anyone know what i can do about this. I wanna wear new shirts, but i dont want to be constantly worrying about underarm sweat! please help me!

Never feel embarrassed on this site.. we all have our problems and we're all here to help (with the exceptions of a few loser). Anyway, if you want new shirts (which you should!) you should try layering. Find a really good deoderant and then layer your shirts (in a stylish way) and then maybe your sweat won't leak through.

Another thing you can do is this. I usually carry a bag full of feminine products and stuff. You could get a cute little clutch and pop a small deoderant in there so that at mid-day (around lunch period) you can put some more on so that you're feeling fresh. Also keep some deoderant in your gym locker (of course).

Lastly, use baby powder when you get out of the shower. It keeps you dry, I think.

You know those spongey things that you use in the shower? I forget what they're called..neways! How long should you use the same one?

Called loofah's but if you call them mesh sponges people know what you're talking about. I call them mesh sponges because I think that it sounds less stupid than loofah. Anyway, you should change them either every other month or you can pop it right into your washing machine. Just make sure you buy one that you can throw into a machine.

Ok, I think we have all been here, but I've been really thinking about my past lately. Mostly my love life. My problem is this: my first girlfriend really had a vicelock on my life. We went out for a little over a year. We nearly got back together last summer, but someone I thought was a friend severly knocked that for a tailspin. Me and "C" ended on very bad terms. A nuclear bomb coulda done less damage. But I look back, and I realize, I cant escape the fact that I am NOT over her. I can't tell if I just feel guilty, cause it IS my fault, Im big enough to admit that, or if I do still care about her. I want to write her a letter to apoligize, but I wonder if it will fall on deaf ears. What should I do?

Oh. My. God. That is the cutest thing I've ever heard of. Please please please write a big wonderful letter to her (in your own handwriting, no computer!) and maybe even stick in a cute little poem (that you wrote yourself!). There are few guys left in this world like you.. you have to get your love baaaaaack!

Hey Sam i was wondering if u could help me with something. I really like this guy and so does this other girl and the other girl is one of my really good friends. We both no one another like him. When i asked him out for her, he said no. I don't know what 2 do b/c i don't want a guy 2 come between us but i really like him and i think he might like me, but i am not sure if he does or not. So tell me if i should go 4 it and ask him out or should i not. Also the other thing is, i don't really think he has any feeling feelings 4 me b/c his best friend tould me that he likes this one girl on this ice hockey team. So i was just wondering if maybe i should go 4 it and ask him and maybe turn out happy or just be happy hanging out with my friend.

If you're feeling some good vibes, then ask your friend what her opinion would be. Tell her that you're feeling a connection and that you just want to try it out with this boy. Tell her that it won't come between the friendship at all. If it doesn't work, then just let her know that you're happy that she is such a good friend. (Let her know either way.) And if you two hook up, don't spend all your time with him, don't invite her to come along with you two on dates every single time, try to hook her up with one of this guy's friends, and most importantly.. Take your time to chill with her. After all, she is your friend. =)

DON'T GO BEHIND YOUR FRIEND'S BACK TO ASK THIS KID OUT! SHE'D BE SO INCREDIBLY PISSED IF YOU TWO HOOKED UP AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN ASK HER. IT WOULD GET UGLY!

This is getting really annoying. I have this friend who is kinda pretty. Everyone I know thinks she is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS and their obsessed with her and they say I am only popular cause of her.. which makes me mad. It also seems like she's avoiding me. And guys like her so much more than me. Idk if this friendship is getting too hard to handle!

If she's your friend, then you can talk to her. If you're popular then you're popular. People aren't popular because they're annoying and loserish. Actually, they kinda are these days. But If she's avoiding you, that's not cool. As for the guys.. if you're friends with her and she has a lot of guy friends probably. Hang out with them and be YOURSELF. You could potentially make a whole bunch of new friends.. and maybe meet a boy that you're interested in. If you're worried about the friendship, talk it over with her. Write her a note. Do something special. Try to work it out, give her some time. But if that doesn't work, the friendship isn't worth it.

well.. I am really REALLY tight with this one that I met not too long ago.

here, ill make names= me=me bff=christy and friend who is okay, but butting into mine and christy's friendship=patty.

okay.. so christy and i spend all our time together.. well practically. so then.. since christy feels bad cause patty has barely any friends, she invites her over sometimes... and she tells me to invite her over sometimes. well.. patty is nice and all... and i would consider her one of my best friends... but she gets on my nerves and it seems to me like she wants to take christy away. it annoys me to . and even though i know christy will remain bffs with me, patty keeps telling me rumors and bad stuff about her, and it annoys me cause she will never fit in.

how can i get her to back off and leave christy alone?.. neither of us like her being around us!

Okay, well, Christy and you should just get together a lot. There is plenty of time for you two to have a blast together without inviting Patty every single time. After all, it IS summer.

But when school time comes around, you're going to have to tell her that she isn't wanted.. But don't use those words. Say something like, ''You're a really good friend to me, but sometimes I just want to hang out with Christy. And sometimes I want to hang out with just you. Some days, I like hanging out with all of us together.'' Just don't hurt her too much.

If you're too shallow for that, you could take the mean, easy route by doing things such as making friendship bracelets and don't make one for Patty. Harsh? Yep, and if you do that you'd be a horrible person. Remember, Patty doesn't have many friends, as you stated, so she probably feels some sort of loneliness. She might not be used to having solid friendships.

Give her another chance, that's all she might need.
