sweating

Question Posted Saturday July 9 2005, 10:32 pm

OK, this is embarrasing but i need help. I have whats called hyperhydrosis, which is persistent under-arm sweat. Like i can be reallyyyy cold, but i will still sweat. This makes me so self-concious, and all i wear is white t-shirts-cus it pretty much hides the sweat. Does anyone know what i can do about this. I wanna wear new shirts, but i dont want to be constantly worrying about underarm sweat! please help me!

Never feel embarrassed on this site.. we all have our problems and we're all here to help (with the exceptions of a few loser). Anyway, if you want new shirts (which you should!) you should try layering. Find a really good deoderant and then layer your shirts (in a stylish way) and then maybe your sweat won't leak through.

Another thing you can do is this. I usually carry a bag full of feminine products and stuff. You could get a cute little clutch and pop a small deoderant in there so that at mid-day (around lunch period) you can put some more on so that you're feeling fresh. Also keep some deoderant in your gym locker (of course).

Lastly, use baby powder when you get out of the shower. It keeps you dry, I think.

Hope I helped.. fill me in on what happens!

okay, i have this one deorderant called Mitchum for woman and it is by far the best deorderant on the market. i play tons of sports and if i put that on, i stay dry all through the day. the stuff is heaven sent*
make sure to put deoderant on after your showers and before you go to sleep. if you put it on before you go to sleep your body will start to reconize that the deoderant is blocking the sweat pores and eventually it will reduce the amount o sweat produced even without deoderant! so please go out and get that deoderant, you'll be so glad you did! it is the strongest stuff on the market.
good luck, xoxo

This is a big pRoblem foR me also, so I know how you feel; I've been theRe, and it's not good. I Reccommend using an anti-peRspiRant deodoRant, followed by RegulaR baby powdeR. The anti-peRspiRant of couRse helps to Reduce sweating, oR at least is said to, but in ouR case... neveR does. Then with the assistance of applying baby powdeR Right oveR the deodoRant, the poRes undeR youR aRm close, theRefoRe, moRe oR less tRapping the sweat in, so to speak. Honestly, this almost ALWAYS woRks foR me, but theRe *ARE* days when it's simply not good enough, and that can be a pain in the ass, so I usually make a point of caRRying some soRt of jacket. HeaRing that, theRe's this pRoduct people aRe talking about on this site, and even adveRtised on television called CeRtainDRi. Now, they say it can be puRchased at Wal-gReens, RiteAid, CVS, and WalmaRt, howeveR, EVERY SINGLE TIME I've been to the stoRe looking foR it, I neveR seen it on the shelves. NatuRally, this leads me to ask an employee wheRe I can find it, and they *always* tell me they've neveR heaRd of it, and they do not caRRy the pRoduct... which just leaves you speechless and with a feeling of, 'what now?' If the pRoblem peRsists, peRhaps you should consult a physician, who can supply you with pRopeR medication. Also, he can give you shots that kind of close up youR poRes, so sweating neveR Really happens again. I'm not shoRe if that's an option foR you, but I Recommend asking him foR moRe info. But whateveR you decide to do, goodluck fRom someone who knows EXACTLY what you'Re going thRough!! Hopefully I've been of some help; know that you can always come back to me if you need anotheR opinion. =D
