Q: My sister just had a baby and he husband's last name is Wood. Well, my sister has always wanted to name her daughter "Holly". So we just need a few HONEST opinions here.

Do you find it tacky to have a girl named "Holly Wood?"

Q: For a cell phone, does it cost money if you want to keep your provider but change your number for privacy reasons? If so, how much?

Or does this depend on the service itself. Thanks, any info is appreciated.

it depends on the provider..... but usually it's like 20 or 25 dollars i think

Q: I have a twin sister, and we are 2 minutes apart at birth, me being the eldest. My mom has always stressed to us that favoritism is highly inappropriate and rejected in a parent-child relationship, her being a victim of favoritism herself. But currently, I feel that secretly, my mom favors my sister more, and a lot of times I feel invisible to her. She rarely has time to listen and value my opinion on things, and this has caused us to grow apart.... What can I do to make my mom see and understand how I feel?

Q: 13/f.i know that no parent is perfect.i really love my mom.she did a lot of sacrifices,she works hard for our living,and even though she dosent cook much,she still does a lot for the family.but what really gets my nerve is when she calls me a b*tch.and she calls me that everytime i do a mistake,minor or major.but i don't think i deserve being called a b*tch.i try not to do anything wrong.its just not fair.don't get me wrong,my mom's really nice.but everytime she calls me that,it really hurts,badly.and i want it to stop.i also want her to stop saying bad words in front of me and my little sister's faces.problem is,i cant speak up to her.i can't tell her how i feel.i just can't approach her.she really loves my sister and i but it hurts when uses words that are not meant to be said,especially to my four year old sister.i really wanna work things out.but if i can't tell her how i feel,how am i gonna work things out?

you could write her a letter and then put a picture of you and her in an envelope of when you were a baby. it always works for me..... and in the letter you could write something like:

dear mom,
remember what life was like before we knew all those words?????

or something like that

well, a penis is like a lot bigger than a tampon! so, i guess it could mean that ur not afraid i guess but it doesn't mean ur body is ready for sex. a tampon is a lot smaller

Q: which is a better buy? the sidekick II or a blackberry? which is more up to date? i'm a female and i'm 13 years old if that helps. i'm looking to buy one but it doesnt matter about the price so please dont base your answer on price. thanks!

well i have a contract with cingular and my mom got me a sidekickII for my birthday. but, i decided that i didn't wanna use it anymore because it was t-mobile. it was really hard because i was use to cingular and being able to talk mobile to mobile for free, and it was a better deal and everything. the sidekickII is cool for all the text messaging and stuff and sending e-mails and AIM and i thought it would be really cool too and it was but t-mobile is a really sucky company. if i were you, i would pick the blackberry only because of cingular..... its a much better company! hope i helped! xoxo

nah i got my first kiss when i was 14 n i go 2 an all girls school. my life didn't start getting "exiting" till i was like 13. thats when i first started talking to boys. hope that made you feel better xoxo

Q: 15 F Chicago and i'm always hearing disrespectful things about President Bush and how he is so insuboordinate(to sum it all up becuase i probably cannot swear on here) so basically my question is..why do so many people hate Bush? aww you don't have to fake a yawn. awww lol. just hold her hand, and then when you do, when she looks at you, smile at her and look into her eyes. then come closer to her give her a kiss on cheek and then on her lips the key is in being romantic

about not wanting to be friends with her, it seems like this girl is better to have as a friend than an enemy. but, u don't have to be best friends with her, just talk to her if she talks to you but kind of try to avoid her. don't give her too much attention. it's not a bad thing if you like the guy and if he likes you than go for it, why not? + shes going to a different school next year, don't worry about it

Q: On myspace they always have those "cool new people". I always wondered how people got on it? Do you have to sign up or do they just pick you right when you make a myspace? Does anyone know?

Q: I asked a question before about my mother and how she's divorcing her 3rd husband--// Actually, they're separated but you KNOW it's leading to a divorce.

Well, my wonderful mother wants me to see a freaking therapist for the way I've been acting towards her and number 3 (irresponsible, disrespectful, ungrateful, demanding, blah blah blah).

SHES THE ONE THAT NEEDS TO GO SEE A DAMN THERAPIST NOT ME!! I KNOW why I act the way I do and I don't need some fag bag shrink to tell me. She's my problem. Who gets married AND divorced 3 different times by the time they're 36?? She should be seeing someone about that.

Plus I know the only reason she wants me to go see one is because I told her I wanted to move in with my dad (number 1) at least until number 3 is gone. Which he will be, soon. Then she'll move on to number 4.

So how do I get out of this??

keep an open mind and talk to the therapist. if you do, you might feel a whole lot better because you will be getting it off your chest =) xoxo cristy

Q: i am realy sceared about getting cancer because my mum had cancer she survived and my auntie had cancer she died they had the same kind my dads dad had cancer he died and now my mums dad had got cancer 2 differant types my head is so messed up worrying about it and worrrying about my mum how she is handling in first she had it then she watched her sister die now she has to watch her dad go through it i had just got my life back on track got great frends, family and a great job n i think i am gonna loose it all as i am depressed and spending loads of time on my own someone plz help me.

just because many people in your family have gotten it doesn't mean you will. take care of yourself and take care of your mom and everything will be ok. i don't know exactly what to tell you, but i hope that i was able to reassure you in some way :) everything will turn out ok

Q: im a 13 year old female. my mom is very strict about "getting enough sleep" and i have a VERY early bedtime. i have to be off the computer by 8:50 pm and i have to be in bed and be watching a half hour tv show from 9:00 to 9:30. i HAVE to be sleeping by 9:30 pm. even if im not done with homework or want to read a couple more pages of my book, I HAVE TO BE SLEEPING. so i go to sleep at 9:30 pm and wake up at 6:45 am. I think i don't need that much sleep. my friends go to bed at 11:30 and they are still wide awake at school. and what makes it worse is that i have the SAME exact bedtime as my 9 year old sister. thats 4 years apart!! i don't think it's fair and i don't think its neccessary to be sleeping by 9:30 pm i feel if i went to bed at 10 or 10:30, i would still get the sleep i need. what time do you guys go to bed and do you think my moms being fair? how can i get my mom to change my bedtime? and shes very strict so i need some good ways to pursuade her with.

i think she's being totally to strict about this! just show her how responsible you are! explain to her that sometimes you have hw that you want to finish because it will effect your grades in school. if you put school into it, she'll listen lol parents always do. come to her in a very nice and sweet tone of voice. hope i helped

Q: Okay, well I'm 13/f turning 14 in july

This question is regarding my birthday party...my parents are allowing me a sleepover and i'm going to bring a few friends to an amusement park for the day. The problem is, the park admission is $20 per person and obviously that would be a large amount of money for my 4-5 friends, then my family, and me. I want my friends to pay for it, but what is a polite way to put it on the invitations? I was thinking a good way to go might be to write on there "instead of a gift, admission to the park is $20." or something of that sort. What do you guys think? Thx very much =] And yeah my bday is a month from yesterday (6/14) so I don't need the answers urgent... (like, tomorrow.) I dunno if that matters on here or what, but ok I'll stop talking now haha.

after a week, you should definatley see SOME results, but everyone is different. i say maybe after one or two weeks, you should see some sort of results. i hope i helped

even though it's less likely to happen because he's a virgin, you never know because even if he doesn't have STD's there are other kinds of infections. its possible but less likely

Q: My mom & I are really close. She loves my dad and they've been together over 20 years. Her very first love has recently passed away. They had a serious relationship when she was 17. (She's 48 now) She saw his last name in the death notices and she's been severely depressed for awhile now. She had a very involved connection with this man and I feel so bad for my mom. They hadn't talked in years & she doesn't know what he died from either. She really wants closure, but I don't know how to help her. What am I supposed to do in this situation?

the best thing that you can do is just be there for her. sit down with her and talk to her. tell her you're really sorry about what happened. she will just appreciate her child being there with her to help her cope with this moment of difficulty. sometimes people just need someone to be with/talk to. just offer to be that for her.

I started this column when I was 15 years old, so you'll notice that the advice has gotten better and better. I've always been interested in counseling and I started this column to gain experience. But, I found a lot more than that. I found a support system of caring and loving people. I received a degree in child development and currently working towards becoming a school psychologist. So, I hope you can feel confident in trusting me with your questions. This is more than just a fun site for me. I look back on my own questions from years ago, and I laugh when I read about my problems at 16. I've really come a long way! I'm relatively young, but I've had several experiences in life that have aided me in helping others. I hope to use those experiences for the greater good and help others who are not in their ideal situation!
