MikeCFT answered Saturday June 24 2006, 1:07 pm: Because people watch NBC,ABC,CBS,CNN (Clinton News Network lol) which are all left wing liberal stations for their news since they're convieniently on cable TV and only a few channels away from MTV when a kid wants to decide to watch something on the news. All they tell you is the bad things and not the good things such as the fact that the economy is in excellent condition. Why do they do this? Because Democrats are jealous that they can't get elected so they slander Republicans on their major popular news networks. Want the truth? Tune into the Fox News Channel and watch The O'Reilly Factor.
People don't like him because he doesn't kiss everyone's ass by claiming they have "Rights" and I think this a great showing of character and we should be proud that he isn't influenced by the Absurdity that is the Democratic party.
Jenn_2 answered Saturday June 24 2006, 11:45 am: You're right. Being president is a one of the hardest jobs out there. President Bush is under a lot of stress and strain but compared to previous presidents, he isn't nearly as good. I guess it's because he does what he wants, not what the people want. He also took us to a war that we could've avoided (In my opinion.) Now everything I said is a matter of opinion. I don't want to change the way you feel about him. Hope this helps! beachpeach answered Saturday June 24 2006, 12:26 am: I know that being a president is a hard job but I personally dont like him. He seems ignorant and isn't focusing on problems that are realyl important to tthe public. I think that he isn't knowledgable about many things in our world and has a rather distorted view of reality. I think that he is making a lot of laws and rules and things like that that he really doesn't know anything about. Overall, I just don't think he is an intelligent eprson.
tasuki answered Friday June 23 2006, 9:10 pm: Well I know why I dislike him. This is based on my personal beliefs. I'm not trying to force these beliefs on you--I respect yours, and ask that you respect mine. Better get some snacks, cause this is gonna be long.
-The war. He sends so many Americans--many of them barely even adults--off to die. For no apparent reason. He says it's because these are freedom hating people who attacked America, which isn't true. A terrorist group from Afghanistan attacked America, Iraq had nothing to do with it. And why hasn't he sent HIS children to die? He has no problem doing it with OTHER people's kids.
-Abortion. I think this is a stupid topic, politicians just use it to get people to vote. It's an emotional issue; mention it in a room full of people with diverse beliefs some time and see what happens. But as a woman, I have made the decision to never be pregnant. If, in ten years or so, I have a stable enough life and feel the desire for children, I will adopt them. This is my personal decision--but Bush doesn't think I should be able to make it. He wants women to take care of their bodies so that we can protect the eggs in our ovaries that may one day become babies. I'm not a baby-machine. If I was pregnant right now, and there was a chance that giving birth would kill me, according to Mr. Bush, I should take that chance. And while I have no problem taking a bullet for someone I love, I am not going to kill myself for an unborn child when I have the option of living.
-Gay marriage. Like abortion, this is a silly, emotional topic. But it's one that really means a lot to me, because I just happen to be gay. Well, bi, actually, but for the purpose of this explanation it's the same thing. Bush, and many people, believe that two people of the same sex can't really love each other--that it is mere sexual attraction and nothing more. There is no nice, clean way to put this--that is bullshit. I have been in love with another female before, and it WAS real love, or atleast as real as teenage love can be. So, what? Are my feelings not real? Who is he to tell me what I feel? I'm the one feeling them, not him. There's an organization called Focus on the Family--now I don't know this for a fact, but I bet you anything that Bush supports them 100%. Their main point is that "gay marriage denies a child of a parent." I told my mother this, and she became visibly ill. Her parents divorced, you see, and she spent several years with one parent (her father). This is obviously the fault of two men who lived five million miles away from her who, after being in a relationship together for six years, decided that they wanted to buy a house and maybe adopt a couple of children. By the way, that last part was sarcasm.
-He's very Holier-than-thou. Literally. Bush often speaks about what a great Christian he is. I have no problems with Christians--most of the people I love are Christians! But he actually believes that God speaks to him. God told him to declare war on Iraq. This nation, which was founded by a group of people who had been persecuted for their religious beliefs and wanted to worship freely, is a CHRISTIAN country, according to our President. It's "one nation under GOD" (never mind that that part of the pledge was added with the intent of forcing Christianity on people--it wasn't in the original, but I digress) so if somebody doesn't believe in God, they're not American. Which brings me to another point--remember when the war started? Bush told protestors to stop protesting, because it's "un-American". Open a history book sometime, Georgie, there would BE NO AMERICA if a group of rebels didn't decide one night that they'd had enough of it and were going to protest. Anyhow. Yes. Bush is a great Christian. Bush, like Jesus, sits at home playing golf while people are starving and getting murdered and dying in massive hurricanes. And by the way, that was sarcasm too.
Anyway, that's why I dislike him. One thing I will say for the guy is that atleast he loves his wife, unlike the previous President. Sorry to get so personal, but I wanted to answer your question thoroughly. Like I said, these are just my personal views. I don't care if you agree with them or not, I'm just explaining myself. Whoo, that was fun, I haven't poured out my soul like that in a good long time. Thanks for the opporunity. ;-)
S_C answered Friday June 23 2006, 8:30 pm: I think their biggest reason towards disliking him is the war. Most people think it's pointless. In my opinion, and I don't know much about it, I don't think we should have started the war, but now that we have, it's our duty to finish it and not just pull out.
I don't really have an opinion on him just because I don't really know anything about polotics, but I do agree with you that he's our president and whether we like it or not, we should respect him.
If "kids" our age were allowed to vote, things would be SO different. If young adults, who had already completely Civics and Economics, World History, and US history were allowed to vote after learning the much needed information, then they should be allowed to vote. My opinion is anyone who knows enough about polotics to have an opinion should have the priviledge of voting (oh yeah, and duhh, be a US citizen)
People don't hate Bush, they just hate the war. Another opinion of mine...
He was president through 9-11. Those attacks (though my opinion on them has started to change due to an hour long video I watched over the internet) or any attacks similar that would have happened to any other country would have been extremely hard for the man in charge to deal with something such as that, and I think Bush did a decent job handling it.
I'm not so sure questions such as this are supposed to be on this site, but I do like it. It made me think, it also makes me want to learn more about polotics and things such as this. Maybe I'll pay attention next year when I take US history. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]

Basketball3846 answered Friday June 23 2006, 4:53 pm: There are a lot of reasons why people don't like them and the majority have to be because he put us into this war which a lot of people think wasn't nessicary and he also comes across in the media as a very uneducated man. There are many more things but I could go on for hours... [ Basketball3846's advice column | Ask Basketball3846 A Question ]
