Q: Hey,
my boyfriend went to this club a couple of months ago and he said they were "grinding" I just found out what grinding meant.. not that long ago and I was just wondering : DO you think it's wrong for my bf to grind with him friends (that are girls!) like should I have been upset?

I think thats great that you wanted to get to know her, and she sounds kinda mean. Since he looks up to her, trying to make her look wrong can only make you look bad.
What you can do is want you back. Move on, play hard to get but be friends with him. Show him all the stuff he used to love about you. Win him back. But take the highroad. If he dosent want you, you cant change that so if it dosent work after a while, move on and let him go. Its unfortunate that his sister had to interfere, but its not a perfect world and you cant change it.

Im in the swim team, and we practive twice a week in a regular sized pool. Theres a bunch of kids (including boys) and we all practive together.

If you go 2 beauty suply stores (like sallys) you can get clip on hair pieces that come in a million colors. You might want to get a few of those and just clip them into your hair and style it however you want. Ittle look really cool.

Have you ever crimped your hair? You could try using a crimping iron, and just doing a few streaks

You could dye parts of it (not perminantly) and make little braids in the dyed parts

Maybe run into sav-on or wallgreens and go through the hair supply stuff. Find anything intresting? Spray gel with glitter or a conditioner... that stuff can b a life saver . Experiment! You need to c what works for you.

Please, if your using heat products on your hear use a deep conditioner once a week. It will save your hair.

About the wavy curly you asked about, thats like beach hair. You could do that the easy way or the hard way.

Ponytail holder and bobby pins
Shine serum

Time Required: 30 minutes - 1 hour, depending on length and thickness of hair

Here's How:

Turn upside down and spray freshly washed roots with volumizing or texturizing spray. Massage it in (stylist Garren insists the rubbing motion creates body and texture). I like Bumble and Bumble or you can try Aveda volumizing tonic .
If hair is naturally course or curly, work a straightening balm through hair. Here's a great list of balms .
Brush hair (this works the product evenly through hair). Blowdry hair straight, starting at the roots to get extra volume. Hair must be completely dry for this look to work. Blow cold air at the roots to add volume (cold air locks in a style).
Separate hair into three sections, securing with a ponytail holder. (It's easier this way to curl your way through each section).
To curl hair, use a wide-barrel curling iron. Starting with one section, take a 1-inch portion of hair, spritz it with styling spray (again, I love Bumble and Bumble Styling Spray) or hairspray. Wrap hair around the barrel of the curling iron. (Wrapping hair is different from the traditional curling method. You don't want to 'clip' hair into the barrel. Wrapping allows you to curl all the way to the root). When you're curling, make sure to leave ends loose to avoid a crimp mark.
Release the curl after about 5-10 seconds (hold longer if you want a tighter curl). You should have a corkscrew curl.
Roll curl and bobby pin it close to the scalp. (I'm lazy, so I skip this step to save time).
Alternate the direction of the curl as you work your way through each section. (It's all in the direction you wind hair around the barrel of the curling iron. Start by placing hair on top of the barrel and wrapping around, then switch by putting the barrel on top of the hair before winding it around). Alternating directions makes curls look more natural. Some curls can remain tight, some loose.
Once pinned curls have cooled, release them.
Remove nozzle from dryer and gently loosen waves with cool air. You can also separate curls with your fingers, just make sure not to brush them out.
To add shine, spritz a hair serum . Stylist David Babaii finger-combs Biosilk Silk Therapy serum into actress Kate Hudson's hair (May 2007, InStyle). You can forego hair serum and spritz with saltwater spray. I like John Frieda Beach Blonde Ocean Waves Sea spray .
Set with hairspray. Just don't overdue it, you don't want new waves to feel "crunchy."

You could put it in a bun when its wet and blowdry till its try.
You could put it in braids while soaking wet, and take it out when its damp so its not crimped but its wavy. You might want to put some de-frizz stuff (like Lanza anti-age serum...not only for old people!)

Q: okay so i'm a girl to start this off
oh by the way this is a really long and confusing question
I have a crush on this guy we will call B and he is one of my best friends. Apparently i am a really easy person to figure out because everyone knows i like him. so yesterday i was talking to B's best friend who we will call J on myspace and we get on the topic of B. J keeps telling B that i like him and i want to go out with him which is true but i don't want to tell him that because it might ruin my friendship with B. So J says 'nicole stop denying it everyone knows already that you like him so just admit it'. so i told J that i don't like B like that and if i did it wouldn't matter because he doesn't like me like that anyways. I already know that B doesn't like me like that because on day at school we were talking (Me, J, B, and M [another friend of mine only its a she]) and J was telling him to ask me out and B said 'ew i'm not going to ask her out she's too fat and ugly' right next to me. well anyways J says 'i know he doesn't like you but you like him'. so i pretty much hit rock bottom there and lost all hope of him liking me back so i kept denying it. then i started talking to another friend who i will call BE. BE also thinks i like B so she was bugging me about it too. she was saying things like 'are you guys bicolen now instead of nicole and B?' B said that he thinks that i don't like him and told me to to sent a bulletin that says that i don't like him and to leave him alone. well i didn't want to send the bulletin and J said that i won't send it because i like B which is true but i don't want to tell anyone it is. after that B logged off of myspace and J + BE started send bulletins that said stuff like 'nicole just admit it' and 'we know it and you know it so just say it already'. after a while other people got in on it and they were like 'Nicole likes B???' and 'whens the wedding' (which apparently is today) and stuff like that. i just got tired of being harassed with millions of bulletins, messages, and comments so i logged off. today i got online and B was saying 'what happened when i logged off?' and he messaged me asking for me to explain it and i said i will on monday at school.
so here is the actual question
what do i do? should i tell him that i like him even though i'm pretty sure he doesn't like me or should i just deny it more?

I dont think you should tell him. Or anybody that you like him. Thats just such a mess. Whats the point? If you ask me, Bs friend is kinda mean because if he knows B dosent like you anyways why ön earth is he making you admit you like him? Or, B likes you. Or the friend does. Who knows? Boys r so complicated. But that B called you fat and ugly? I dont like that.

If you ask me, i think that you should try to avoid the subject as much as possible. Get over B. Get ur head off it and put all this behind you. I dont think its worth it.

Q: Idk about this kid anymore (he's a sort of ex), but here's the situation.

All I wanted to do was the talk to him (I told a friend to tell him to call me, since I have no classes with him), and he was like "No..she's going to ask me to homecoming".

After he said that, I was just irritated, and said "You know what? Screw you, jackass. Just so you know, I have a boyfriend, and I'm already going to homecoming with someone. I just wanted to talk to you."

According to my friend, he was really shocked and he acts all awkward around me now, but whatever.

Now, I hear that he admitted to liking this girl that's been, like, stalking him. i mean, she's a nice girl and all, but anyone with a brain can tell that he doesn't like her.

But anyways, he admitted to liking the girl to one of my best friends (the same best friend who told him to call me)

Is he trying to make me jealous? I know full well that he doesn't like this girl. About a year ago, he supposedly told her "I used to like you, but not anymore". He looks hella bored when she tries talking to him. Yet, he is apparently going around telling people he likes her, and has convinced my best friends that he does like her.

But I don't believe it at all. This girl has liked him for two years, and he's known that. It just seems odd to me.

Q: Hi. I am starting high school in a week and i was wonderring if anyone could properly explain (or send me a video) on how to do a half up half down. My friends sometime do it to me and I love it but they just say put part of it up when i ask them how. I want to have more than one hairstyle this year (all throughout grade 8 i had my hair down) and if anyone has some ideas Id love that. My hair is just below shoulder length and a dark brown. Headbands are great. You dont need to get the big chunky ones if you dont like them but they have skinny colorful ones that you can put in your hear. Instead of sliding it back to look all studous and preppy, you can put it in your hair from the top.

You have sidebangs/layers right? Why not put the front few pieces up in a clip in a bubble (somtimes called bump) on top of your hear. That would be cute.

I dont know your style so i dont know what hairstyles you like. I love braids. My friend loves pig-tails.

You have stick straight hair and its stunning but have you ever tryed curling it? You could use a curling iron or hot rollers or braids to make it curly. If you wanna know how just lemme know.

What about a ponytail? Thats easy.

Kay, on to the half up half down. It really is as easy as just putting half of it up. Kinda.

First, pick if you wanna use a clip or a ponytail or a ribbon or whatever.

Starting from where the top of your ears reach, take the hair from all around your head and seperate it from the rest.

Make sure the top is smooth.

Slide your hands in-between the top hair and the rest to make sure theres no flyaway hairs stuck there because theyl get tangled.

Tie up the top part with a scrunchi or rubberband or whatever you want.

Maybe spray the top with hairspray or somthing to keep it un-frizzy.

Maybe pull out some pieeces from around your face.

You could even take the ponytail from the half up and arap it around to make a bun.

Whatever you want!

anywho, if i dye my hair once every 4 months with semi-permanent which kind of shampoo/conditioner should I get. A color-vibrant one?? or a sleek look one?? Because I would only be dying my hair once every 4 months, and I don't think I would need a color vibrant one, especially since they give the conditioner in the box with the dye. So If I choose a sleek type shampoo/conditioner, which one of the brands would be the best for me?

You can put the hair serum on wet hair before you iron it, and/or after you iron it.

You could try puting the serum on dry hair instead of ironing it all-together. It would probably stop it from getting frizzy.

Also, you shouldent iron your hair straght out. You should spray some type of spray to protect it from the heat.

If you iron your hair a lot you should use a deep conditioner once a week (at least.)

All you need is a rich shampoo and conditioner thatlle save your hair from whatever you do to it.

Q: i got my ear cartiledge pierced about 4 and a half months ago. i took it out for a day and now i can't get it back in. i can get it like 1/2-3/4 way in but i can never get it through the back. it can't close in one day can it? how can i get it in before it actually does close up? thanks.

Lol my friend had the same thing happen to her. Dont worry about it. Its totally common.

Check the back of the earing that your trying to put in. Is it sharp? Is it skinny? If it is then use that. If its not, maybe you could find an old earring you could try. Thatlle go through better. Have you taken a shower? The back could be clogged with shampoo or soap or somthing. If it is, it wont hurt at all to push it through.

If its skin closing up, im warning you it might hurt a little bit but really not bad.

Take some Neisporin(sp) and put it on the pack (the pokey part) of your earring. then put it on, going from the back instead of the front, just to poke out the hole. Then you can take it out, wash it off and put it on regularly.

You might want to leave them on for a while.

Q: im going to wear a babydoll shirt and my hair curly because it is. They baby doll shirt is a cream color and has a vintage red. It is a vintagey king of shirt and then im just wearing light straight legged jeans. the shoes are around a cream color too. Is that fine. You totally shouldent worry about sombody wearing the same outfit as you. First of all, i know that you have your unique taste anyways, so them picking out the same shirt is kinda unlikely. And also, the whole outfit is going to be different. Also, your body makes the outfit your own. i mean for a twin day at camp, me and my friend dressed up in the same shirt but our hair and bodys and everything made it totally different.

And even if sombody wears the same shirt, i know youll look waaaaay better in it.!!

Q: Well, I am 5''3 and 13 years old and all my mom can ever talk about is my weight. In summer 06, she told me that i looked to heavy. I was 122 lbs, so i lost 20 pounds. then she complained that I looked to skinny. Right now I am 107 and she keeps bugging me that I look too skinny. She wants me to gain 5 lbs, but I dont want to. I like the way I look right now but my mom doesn't respect that. Whenever I wear a swimsuit, all she can comment on is, "you look too skinny". It's really annoying and I wish she would just let me stay at the weight I feel right at. I just don't want to listen to her complain anymore. What do i do?

You could make a deal with her. You will go to your doctor and ask the doctor if you are un-healthyly skinny. If you are, then you will ask the doctor for a plan to get a healthy weight, but if your fine and healthy, your mom needs to back off because if the doctor says ur fine then you are.

Q: and constantly compares you to another sibling, calls u stupid, fat, ugly (about every time she sees me)....like, everytime theres a TV ad for a skincare line or something she says, 'you should get that!' (cause i don't have such great skin) every 5 seconds ...she loves it.
always talking to me and staring at my acne and/or saying, "what is happening to your face?!". and shes always like, you look so ugly right now!
or she even tells me to shut up randomly, sometimes even wanting to get violent....or 'why don't you get your eyebrows done? (ur (my) sister) is so much prettier, why can't you look like her', etc.....'ur so dark (wtf?) and ugly'

she is bipolar, for real. i can't take it anymore.

she is so comforting to hug sometimes and talk to when I'm low or when my dad gives me stress (he is a resume/checklist, 'did u finish this, did you finish that'' type of dad!) not a great combo. But it's so weird because she gets into a nasty behavior randomly.

for example...i have concentration problems (add) and my dad helps me focus sometimes to do my schoolwork (i take medication, i'm 17)....and my mom imitates me and is like, "I'm so stupid, I'm going to just use my dad, he can do all my work for me, and mom cooks so I can use her too."

it's hard and really annoying because she digs into some of my deepest insecurities and just full on insults me. my sister doesn't talk to her anymore. but its harder for me because i still live in this house.

its lonely as ever, especially because as of now I don't have many friends since I moved and am going to a new school this fall. =/!

Have you considered talking to your Dad? Maybe you could tell him that you cant handle your Mom's rude coments any longer, and that she either needs to stop or you need to move out. There is no reason for you to be treated this way, especially from your own mother. Im not sure if you watch degrassi, but there was an epesode where Eli's Mom has a drinking problem so Eli cuts herself. It gets to the point where they cant live together anymore and her Dad is in the army so Eli finds a roommate and her mom pays for her to have her own apartment. Im not sure if you are old enough to do this, but maybe you could move back home (you said that you moved) and live with one of your old friends? Do you think your parents could go for that? You need to get out of that enviroment, whether that means changing the atmosphere or leaving. goodluk!

I think its hard to tell, because everybody reacts to a breakup differently but i think if she suspects it, shes probably right. You should always trust your instincts. But if its true that she WAS a rebound, that dosent mean she needs to break up with him. She should talk to him and ask him if he still has feelings for his ex. Because it could be that she was a rebound but now hes fallen in love with her and it only started as a rebound. And also, she should think about the fact that out of all the girls in the world, he chose her to use as a rebound so he must like her a little.
