13/m I have a sister, let's call her "Z", she's 2 years older than me. Niether of us have ever had dates before. But this last summer, I realized that I was in love with one of my best friends from school "M", and Z was in love with one of her best friends from camp, whose name doesn't matter. Well, of course I told M how I felt about her, because it was just burning up inside me and I didn't know what else to do. It turns out, she's not sure how she likes me, and also she has an ex who went through a painful breakup with her. Because he's a jock. I am not in any way, shape, or form, a jock, and also I can't thing of any reason why we would go through a painful breakup with her. So not only is she unsure of her feelings, but she also doesn't want to go through a painful deja vu. And to put it on top of everything, she had a huge argument with the popular kids, and they will do anything to get revenge on her or anyone close to her---namely, me. So I was insanely depressed for a long time...
About two months later, we learned that what Z was feeling was mere infatuation. She went to another school this year, and she met a really weird guy "R", first they just had a bunch of classes together, then Z realized that she liked him, and eventually she loved him, and her best friends were pushing her to ask him out, or else they could slap her really hard continuously for 3 straight minutes. So she asked him out, and they're going out in a few weeks---on his birthday!
A day or two before, I had asked M to the school dance, as friends or more. She might be rehearsing for a play then, but at least there's hope. But for some reason I feel like Z isn't ready to be dating yet... I don't know why. I've never met R but he sounds like such a great guy... I don't know... Maybe it's just a huge milestone in both of our lives... maybe I'm jealous... I don't know... And right now I feel like I'm going to burst out of confusion... I usually know what's going on, people always answer my questions with stuff like "Wow, how old are you really?" or "I know some people who are 21 and you're more mature than them!" And all that crap. But now this is the one time outside of social studies or having to do with M when I have no idea what's going on... why am I so jealous or worried for her? And has it ever struck you as difficult to have two people who happen to both love each other? Like, really, what are the odds? Thanks... I'm so distraught! (link)

you probably don't think she is ready because you have never seen her date someone before. whether she's ready or not, it doesn't matter. it's all in fun and learning. no one is ever truly ready for anything. you will eventually get used to her dating and it won't be a big deal, but for now just be encouraging.

i used to think the same exact thing. its like..out of everyone, two people happen to like each other..not anyone else? i'm not sure what its like for your age right now..because you do seem very mature for your age..but when i was in, what, 7th grade (?) kids just liked each other from afar. like they would barely even know each other but a girl would think "oh he's cute. i like him." or "he seems nice. i like him." and i couldn't tell you how a guy thinks. haha. this makes it seem very difficult for two people to happen to like each other. maybe its just that one likes the other..so the other decides "why not?". after all, relationships are beginning to form for the first time and some kids are just curious as to what its like.
in a few years though..or even maybe next year, you may start actually hanging out with girls..if you don't already. having more time actually talking to the person you like really increases the chances that she will like you. think about it. if some girl you don't know asked you out. what would you do? what about if a girl you know and talk to asked you out? again, some kids just think "oh we are friends..so why not?" while others actually will develop feelings.

well..i know its very popular this year..but i don't see how it is dressing up at all. it's pretty much wearing skimpy clothing.
you could be other things and look cute that are more clear of what they are.
my friend's sister was like an army girl. she wore a short camoflauge dress and tall boots.
you could be really cute (i might actually do this) as a pirate. wear a bandana. maybe if you want, an eye patch..but you can wear it up on the bandana..as you would if you were wearing sunglasses on your head. boots and a short skirt thats ripped at the bottom. and maybe a black and white striped shirt. play around with it and it could come out cool.
i hope you like those. also try searching for "contumes for teen girls" on google. look at everything you can find and base something off of something you like.

they just do it for they're own entertainment and to be funny. sometimes, i admit, it can be funny, but they need to understand which questions they can be funny about and which ones they must either answer seriously, or not at all. for example, when they answer something similar to "go kill yourself" i find that completely unacceptable. people come here for advice because maybe they don't feel comfortable asking anyone who knows them, or they fear being made fun of. these people go against exactly what advicenators is about.
if they are harmless, try to laugh it off or ignore it.
however, if they are hurtful, don't hesitate reporting them.

try to spend equal time with both of them..and let them know that you don't hold one group higher than the other. maybe get just a couple people from each group to hang out together if possible..because if you tried to get everyone from both groups to hang out..like have a party with both of them..it would be completely split in two. just let them know that you value all of your friends and you want them to respect that.

she might think that you are just embarassed. keep telling her that you don't have it, but you will tell her when you do. also, make sure you say that you have them just in case you do get it because you don't want to be screwed if you don't have anything to deal with it..just like you told us. if she still doesn't believe you, come up with a few questions to ask her about having it. this will prove that you really don't have it.

well I REALLY like this guy... and i have a couple questions.
1) all my friends keep telling me to tell him.. should I? I mean I really do like him and I want him to know but I highly doubt he likes me and I'm scared of looking stupid.
2) What can I do when I pass him in the hall or something to catch his attention? And is there anything else I can do? I have absolutely nothing to talk to him about.. and I'm willing to change anything to get his attention. I tried learning about hockey and stuff (it pretty much just bored me) and I tried wearing a hockey jeresy.. I mention I play football sometimes and im on the basketball team but idk what else i can do.

1. DON'T. if you don't have anything to talk about with him..that seems like it would be a pretty awkward relationship. also, think of it the opposite. if some guy liked you that you didn't know too well or have much in common with..would you go out with him?
2. to catch his attention..make eye contact. if he's not looking you way just say "hey, bobby!" (with his name of course..don't call him bobby unless that's his name). just talking to him and getting to know him better will get his attention.
get his snif you don't already have it and talk to him about anything you can think of. try to keep it away from sports..there has to be more to him. if he brings it to sports..sure, go with it..but otherwise..don't bring it up.
don't pretend to be something you're not. guys can usually tell when youre faking it or they will eventually figure it out. guys don't like walking replicas of themselves in the girl form. they are drawn to something different. there is a difference from having things in common and being exactly alike. you are supposed to learn from one another.
okay..this is turning more into a lecture and i don't mean to do that. sorry!
3. you seem like you really really like him. obsessed? i wouldn't be able to tell..but seeing how you are willing to change anything for him is a huge hint that you may be (though i am extremely against changing yourself for guy. if you change yourself for each guy you like..you will forget who you truly are and it will take you a while or a tramatic situation to figure it out).

i CANT STAND my older sister. Shes a junior in highschool, im a freshman. she is always making fun of me for no reason at all, and always telling me what to do. So, im always mean back to her. I dont wanna be mean to her, but i cant control myself, she thinks shes so smart. She gets straight A's, drives her own car, has lots of friends, .. so she thinks shes wicked cool. well..i'm not really the one to advise you with this..as i am apparently the mean older sister according to my little sister...but i can tell you what she may be feeling.
one of my greatest fears is that my sister will be better than me..i mean..she has her talents that i dont..but overall..i feel like i need to be better because i'm older. i'm mean to her sometimes..but its usually just like how you are mean to your sister..just reciprocating what she does to you.
the best way to get along with her..would be to try your HARDEST to be nice for a while..see if she starts treating you better. if that doesn't work..i think its just part of being siblings. there's always going to be a little rivalry and fighting. when you feel like you are getting angry..just think of yourself as the older one. think "i'm better than her at keeping my temper and seeing reason in things." and it will help. i hope i helped at least a little..i hope all goes well for you.

well..don't be like..about to kiss and tell him about the seperator. just bring it up casually in conversation before you are even in that situation. find some way of mentioning it and you won't have to worry about surprising him with it or ruining a moment telling him about it. it shouldn't be a problem. also, some of the best kisses are without tongue...and it definitely wouldn't affect that.

Alright, I liked this guy for the past three years and now I am over him. I don't want to be around him, I don't even want to see him. He plays around with me too much and I can't stand those games of his. It's games like his that hurt me so much. I don't want to be around him yet I want to show him that my feelings are changed . When I get off my bus in the morning, he's there at the table sitting there with my other friends and then he avoids eye contact. Then I do the same and say hey to everyone and put my bookbag down. He'll give me one glimpse and then I'll head to the restroom or to the cafeteria. There have been plenty of times that I have come back to the table to prove that I am over him and that I can be around him because I used to couldn't. But now , he's hitting on my friends around me, and I told my friend to go for it but she won't b/c she says that he's too hot for her. Why is he doing this in front of me, why won't he let me be, why does he have to act as if he is everything, why does he avoid eye contact, and how comes he's at the damn table every morning? I've moved on but this makes it way too complicated because I like to sit in the cafeteria in the morning but he's there and he's hitting on my friends in front of me and I don't want to be there. Oh what should I do. Please, please , please, please help me. Oh and I asked a guy and he said it's probably another game to see if I'll come back as I did all those other times before. Is this true? maybe he is trying to prove that he is over you too. or he could like the feeling of being wanted..and having the power over someone else's heart. i say don't worry about proving to him that you don't like him. not proving it is the best proof. it will also keep you from letting him lure you back in.

God. You really have no idea how many times I have been blamed for something I didn't do. Like 2 weeks ago someone (not me) cut the seatbelts on the bus and threw out the airfreshener. And there comes the vice principal looking for me and he told me that I did it. Which I obviously didn't. I have done things that made me get in trouble. I did that like 5 times. And yes I did bad stuff then. But that was in 6th grade. I'm now in 8th.
So, he was talking to me and telling me how I shouldn't of done that. And hes blaming me for everything. He doesn't care about my side of the story. I've tried talking to him but he wouldn't lissten. I told him he was a liar, because it's true. He didn't care.
How should I show him i've changed from being a bad @$$ to a good person?? I'm thinking about going to my councelor and telling her about it.

definitely not. if he is asking for that already you may need to start questioning his intentions..
this is my rule to figuring out if his intentions are okay:
when he asks you for more, say no. if he really cares about you, he will respect that and not pressure you. if he doesn't, he will either pressure you or pressure you and then dump you. this same thing actually happened between my ex and i..he ended up breaking up with me. you think you will be devastated, but you really feel like a stronger person after.
please, wait. if you don't, your heart WILL be broken more, no matter if you break up soon after, or a year after. you also risk feeling used, or completely humiliated.
usually i like to have both a positive and negative side to my answers..but i can't really think of anything positive on this one...if you choose to do it, i wish you luck and happiness.

I do drama and it is just amazingly fun. You meet so many people. I made more friends in my grade and it older grades. acting on stage you could get just a small role if you want..or even a big one but it sounds like you are more into doing crew. i have friends who did crew and they had a blast. i highly recommend it.

i am a 13/m and i just cant seem to loose wieght i am 5,4 and wieght between 120-125 and i skateboard and am very active and sweat alot but i just cant seem to loose my baby fat and my gut i have a six pack but it doesnt show that much and when me and my friends skate to impress the girls i want to keep my shirt on so how can i loose wieght faster then i have been

you are only thirteen so you still have some developing to do. as you get taller you will naturally lose that baby fat. just keep working out to maintain what you have. i don't think you should lose any more weight because right now you weigh less than some of the girls. i'm not saying you aren't healthy or anything..just that you still have some growing to do so don't sweat it hotstuff.

I'm a really late developer, so I'm still the shortest one in my grade; my voice is very soprano; and it just doesn't seem like I've been going through puberty yet. you don't need to make it look like that. how you are is perfectly fine. the number one way to turn a girl away is to pretend you are something you're not cause that makes us think that we can't trust you. just be yourself and don't worry about that stuff. if she likes you, you should want it to be for who you are, not who you pretend to be.
