-sleep 9-10 hours every night
-eat all 3 meals
-eat a good sized breakfast [if you don't you actually gain weight er keep the same weight, because your body is going into starvation mode and you aren't burning calories]
-eat 3 snacks inbetween 3 meals, so basically eat every 3 hours [to help your metabolism] there's a catch to that one! don't eat like cookies and chips. you have to eat fruits, veggies, crackers, etc.
-exercise. run, jog, walk, play basketball, swim, skateboardings good.

And the truth is mucsle (sp?) weighs more than fat. But if you're still self-consious the best thing to do is cut your calories and exercise more. You're obviously active so try having a 1500-2000 calorie a day diet. Also when warming up for skating (which you should do if you don't) do some sit-ups/crunches and push-ups. Or after you skate condition. Conditioning isdoing heavy exercise after you play a sport. Some good excersises for conditioning is running laps, jumping jacks, sit up, push-ups, and lunge walks (very annoying but they work). Do these activites after skating. I hope I helped! I'm as tall as you are, and I wear my 130 pounds rather well, in my opinion. Keep skating, you'll strengthen your legs and lose some weight. Also, try an activity that makes you use your stomach muscles, as well - you only lose fat around the muscles you use. [ scarletdreams09's advice column | Ask scarletdreams09 A Question ]

Here are some tips:
1) Try to be active in some way every day, whether it's skating, taking a walk or running.
2) Cut out really fatty foods from your diet (chips especially)
3) Do't undereat! It'll just make you hungrier so you'll overeat.
4) Replace unhealthy foods with salads, lean meats, yogurt, fruits, whole wheat breads, etc.
5) Remember that changes don't happen that quickly. If you expect dramatic results in a few weeks it's probably not going to happen.
6) Keep a positive attitude. Don't get discouraged or think that becomig healthy is too hard or get lazy and stay inactive for a long time.
