Age Restriction on Halloween? Do you guys think its weird for 16 year olds to go trick-or-treating? I dont do it to steal candy from little kids, I do it because I am a kid at heart lol and its fun! PLUS ITS FREE CANDY! But some people give me weird looks when I knock on their door and say "Trick-Or-Treat!" I guess its because I look like I'm about 20. Several houses last year gave me just one piece. But I dunno if they did that to everyone or JUST me. So my question is this: Do you think there should be an age limit to trick-or-treating? Why or Why not?

I think you should stop trick-or-treating when you're in college. When you're in high school I consider you still being a kid. A lot of kids in high school want to act older and that's why a lot of them don't trick or treat at your age. But I'm like you, I'm a kid at heart, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that! ]
Nope, I still go.
It's fun for everyone and there shouldn't be an age limit.
Plus, no one came on our street, and we would have given candy to college students if they bothered to come to my house.
If you feel really weird about it, go in a group, or take some younger kids with you (siblings, cousins, neighbors, etc)

Nop,at least you know how to have fun. ]
No, I see nothing wrong with it.
I'm 16, and I still trickortreat. I'll probably be trickortreating til I'm noticably old. Right now, I don't really look my age, so I'll be trickortreating for a while. :] ]
Not at all. I'm in college, and a lot of people are going trick-or-treating tonight. Not me, though, I'm too busy. But maybe next year. I don't think there should be an age limit...but...if you have a little kid you could bring, it might make it less awkward. ]
Eh, by that age you really should leave it to the kiddies. That doesn't mean that you can't go to family member's houses or see friends. By age 16, you usually start going to Halloween parties instead of trick-or-treating. My last year was when I was 15 or 16, but that's because I was forced to go with my little sister who is 3 years younger than me. It got kind of awkward though and I wish I had stopped sooner. I now have memories of trick-or-treating being weird and people giving me dirty looks instead of just pure bliss. The only way you should be going trick-or-treating now is if you have a younger sibling, you go with a little kid, or you go with an exchange student that wants the experience. Yeah, it's fun, but you really need to move on. Good luck and I'm sorry if that's not what you wanted to hear. ]
If you're old enough to buy your own candy, you're too old for trick or treating. If you're old enough to be at a halloween party you're too old for trick or treating.
I generally say 13-14 is the cut off. Once you hit high school, if you are going trick or treating you should be bringing a little brother or something around.
But yeah, at 16 Id probably give you a wierd look too. ]
Good question.
I personally feel anyone over the age of 16 shouldn't go trick or treating. They're old enough and mature enough to think of other ways to celebrate Halloween. I feel trick or treating is for children/young teens as it's exciting for them to dress up and get free sweets etc.
People your age should have the money to buy your own sweets.
If you really want to do it, go ahead. I bet there are tonnes of people like you who still like going trick or treating, but once you classify yourself as an adult, leave it to the kids.
Happy Halloween. :) ]
It is kind of weird, but at the same time normal. I am going trick or treating. They probably only gave you one because they wanted it to be a more enjoyable for the younger kids. ]
