i think what ever ur legal gardian says, is how it goes, no matter what, because they are just trying to take good care of you, but if it is lower than 8:30 and higher than 11:00 the next morning, there's somthing wrong with them lol

I was a very responsible 16 year old. I never had a curfew. All I had to do was tell my parents where I was going and when I'd be back. It was kind of a unique situation, but it always worked out. As long as you're open and honest with your parents and they have no reason to not trust you, it might work out.

Kind of idealistic I know, but I plan on doing that with my kids, up until they breach that trust.

Otherwise, I'd say Midnight on weekends, 10:30/11pm on weekdays.

Well in most towns there is a curfew set by the law, so you might want to find out what that is. When I was 16 my curfew on school nights was 10:30 and on non-school nights it was 11:30. I think it was pretty resonable.

i think that the right time would be about 11 on weekends (if your kid is with people...make sure shes not by herself) thats how it is for me but its like 9 or 10 on weekdays

Ashumms answered Friday May 4 2007, 9:12 pm:
I'm sixteen now and it depends on what I'm doing and what time whatever I'm going to starts. My parents think that three hours minimum is a good time space to stay out. But it also depends for me whether my chores are finished.
Hope I helped in some way.

*Kate* answered Sunday April 29 2007, 9:40 pm:
I'm 17 but when I was sixteen it depended...

On a school night 10pm
Any other night 11pm

Sometimes it varied if I had the car but not often. I called my parents and always told them what I was doing so they were pretty lax

dependes... do you have a cell phone? do your parents or whoever know generally where you're gonna be? i'd say a good time is sometime between 10-12... but my parents are pretty lax so my curfew is 2am...

sizzlinmandolin answered Sunday April 29 2007, 7:56 pm:
I would say 10 or 11:00. More important than curfew is knowing who they are with, where they are going, and what they are doing. Wanting to see a midnight movie with a friend or two of the same sex that you know and wanting to go to a party being held by someone's parents that you don't know are two very different things. A curfew is a good place to start, but decisions should ultimately be based on their plans, not just how late they'll be out. Use the curfew if you don't feel like explaining to them why you really don't want them to go. If you are a 16 year old and not a parent like I assumed, just do what your parents say. If you want to negotiate a curfew, using the "everyone thinks you should let me out later" isn't going to work. If you want to get your curfew moved later, show your parents that you are responsible. Do some chores around the house or something. Getting a later curfew is hard work and talking to your parents about it isn't going to get you anywhere if it hasn't already. Good luck. :)

xxlilreddivaxx answered Sunday April 29 2007, 7:38 pm:
i agree that it does depend on wat they are doing. If it is a party, 11-12 would be good and if its the mall or the movies or anywhere else then like up to 9 the longest. The streets are very dangerous at night so you cant leave them out there for too long. Also make sure of where they are going because they might go to an unsafe location. I know a lot of 16 years olds that go to places to smoke or do drugs. Remember to give them freedom , but not too much freedom.

Courtney19 answered Sunday April 29 2007, 7:34 pm:
It depends on what your asking on doing. I am sixteen and if i tell my mom i am going to a party tell her i will drink but have a DD then she will usually say 11pm. but if its a movie or something it just depends on when it starts and ends. I dont have a curfew i just go on what i am doing that night and see what my parents say about what i am doing. Depending on your conservative your parents are you should be honest with them about what your going to do. most of the time any way. =]

hope i helped

Courtney.
